  1. I keep hearing he's a smart QB, but he's going to have a very short career in the NFL if he doesn't wise up and get out of bounds. Now, I realize he was trying to gain an important first down -- and he succeeded, but at what cost? He has to play smarter or he'll be an ex-NFL player in a couple of years.
  2. Yep, have to agree with everything you say. I also don't understand the posts saying "we're rebuilding anyhow". Makes no sense. It's not like Levitre is an old man yet. He's still got a lot of years in him probably. He's exactly the kind of guy I wouldn't want to let go during a "rebuild".
  3. +1 Too bad we let Andy Levitre walk. Oh yeah, good guards are cheap and easy to find and the position is not that important -- that's right -- silly me.
  4. They said on radio was a hamstring - edit - I thought I heard "ham" on radio -- "hand" -- my bad
  5. +1 I don't think anyone will be calling them "weak" when they hit double-digit victories around late November / early December.
  6. I think Who might be injured. However, What could be promising and I Don't Know could be a dark horse.
  7. So, if Nigel played for the Broncos, how would this have played out?
  8. Hmmm, seems we had a "name the defense" thread last season about this time (of which I'll admit I participated in, too). Like some others here say, let's win a few defensive battles before we go down this road. Obviously, this season does look a heckuva lot more promising than last season on the defensive side of the ball, but I'd still rather wait for the results, first.
  9. Yes, another good point! Thanks! Yes, only time will tell. Understand. Here's to a real front office!
  10. And it was a master stroke in so many ways. Not only did they simply add a few draft picks and still get their QB in round 1 (which all by itself is great), but then they turned around and used the 2nd round pick very well, it appears, in picking up Kiko Alonso. Also, by trading with the Rams, that took Tavon Austin off the board from the division-rival Jets, who desperately needed talent at the skill positions on offense and most certainly had Austin in their plans. And, if there were any Bills fans out there who might have liked to see Austin in a Bills uniform, it seems Buffalo got a comparable, if not better player (if early results are any indication), with Marquise Goodwin in the 3rd round (from same trade with the Rams). Maybe even Chris Gragg (7th rd. pick from Rams) will develop into a contributor one day. Time may prove this to be one of the best trades in team history.
  11. Marrone already hinted he's likely to keep 3 QBs -- no way Kolb is not on the roster, barring injury, come opening day.
  12. In his defense, he may have assumed it was an incomplete pass (which it should have been) and figured the play was dead. But, the guy needs to play hard until he hears a whistle blow. You are right - he will get an earful from the coaches, but I think it was more a matter of not recognizing it was ruled a fumble as opposed to just "giving up".
  13. Very well said - agree with every word.
  14. I also like from his college tape that when he does run to avoid sacks it is usually to make a throw from outside of the pocket instead of actually running. But, he certainly show run ability, too, in his college tape.
  15. If you sound-out EJ as if it was a word, it kind of sounds like "Edge" -- nice short name. However, I'm with those who say let him earn a nickname via his play first. Edit: Maybe not -- already been used by Edgerrin James, so not original
  16. Hey, I think that was me. And I recall you woke me up to the fact that the Buffalo Sabres initials don't work so well on a baseball cap!
  17. Found this, too -- http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/159170-patriots-hernandez-arrested-in-homicide-investigation/page__st__1120 -- Pats radio show on 7/17/2012 with hosts bragging about how Pats players don't get into trouble like players on other teams - in retrospect, ironic timing of this show. Oh, btw, not suggesting he might have said something other than what he said, but it's just kind of interesting to listen to interviews so soon after alleged participation in the event to see the behavior is all. Looks like he took it pretty much in stride.
  18. Interview 11 days after the 2012 homicides -- says his summer is "private" ... http://www.patriots....ba-2338581be695
  19. +1 to each Belichick was also responsible for Parcells' success in NY.
  20. Well, he did make $1.75 million dollars in 2012, so can't say I exactly feel bad for the guy, but I know what you're trying to say.
  21. So much for the notion that "No one loses a job in OTAs". Regardless, I'm glad they narrowed the field earlier rather than later. Just hope he doesn't go to an AFC East opponent to tap his knowledge of the playbook. The Bills made the right decision here I think.
  22. People seem to forget Florida was a pretty good football team last year with only one loss in the regular season. It's not like Fl. State lost to some nobody team.
  23. +1 Bad idea through-and-through.
  24. Actually, I saw a pic yesterday on Buffalobils.com of his new locker (http://www.buffalobi...e3-2566a824a9ec - pic 14) But, point taken -- let the best man win the starting job in an open competition.
