Thurman Thomas wrote "Super Bowl" on his cleats during training camp leading up to Buffalo's 1st Super Bowl appearance to help set the team's mindset and goals for the season. It worked! If any current Bill is so inclined to do something like this, please change to "Win Super Bowl".

i still can't get used to no bbmb......
ChasBB replied to billsredneck1's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I don't think the board has changed. I think following a non-playoff team for 17 years changes the "culture" of the board a little bit and makes it less enjoyable. Once the team makes the playoffs, this will probably be a fun place to hang out and catch-up on Bills news. I'm also annoyed with the "thread police" always attacking new threads - relax, already - so something could have been put in an existing thread - big deal. Just relax and enjoy the material - wherever it gets posted. -
Bills decline to match Gillislee offer sheet
ChasBB replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He led the entire league in yards-per-carry in 2016. The Bills underutilized him. Not a knock on LeSean, but Gillislee could have given the team plenty more if asked - still annoyed he didn't start against Miami last season to let McCoy heal up more - dumb decision after dumb decision the way this team has handled things. The Patriots will get every bit of their investment back - and more. -
Bills decline to match Gillislee offer sheet

Completely agree. Big mistake. -
Maybe the NFL is thinking the Pats, Bills & Fins will be in playoff hunt and NFL will have option to make some of these games nationally televised. I don't know - just a thought.

Sorry, but I'm still going to miss Hogan
ChasBB replied to dollars 2 donuts's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hated to see Hogan go. I was never on-board with letting him walk. It's not like they were stacked at WR. Good for the Patriots for making the smart move. He could have been that player here in Buffalo if we had a QB who could spot open receivers. Can't believe I'm going to say this, but Go Pats - for Hogan's sake. -
McDermott emerging as favorite in coaching search...
ChasBB replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree - don't see him staying as OC. I'd still like to see Lynn get promoted to HC. I think he'd do a great job. Also, just because promoting HC from within the ranks didn't necessarily work out so well last time is no indication of how it will work out next time. I really want to see Lynn get the opportunity. I think he had a decent season. Also, and for really no good reason, I really like HCs that have more offensive backgrounds. -
NFC Wild Card: Giants at Packers
ChasBB replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It is still annoying to think Clay Matthews could have been a Bill in 2009 instead of Aaron Maybin. Of course, several other teams kicking themselves, too, but I think Buffalo hurt themselves the most with that pick. -
Source: Broncos expected to be interested in Anthony Lynn
ChasBB replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm reminded of how Denver went after another property of Buffalo's in the past - Bruce Smith - worked out pretty good for Buffalo to decide to hang onto Bruce. But, that's neither here nor there. Anyhow, I very much like Anthony Lynn's response to the last question in the post-game presser. Lynn was asked as to why Adollphus Washington was inactive for the first time this season ... Lynn's response ... "Well, I thought Coleman practiced better than him this week". Practice counts with Lynn and that's a very good thing for all involved when a coach holds a player accountable for not practicing well. And the word "accountable" gets tossed around so much it almost means nothing, but when a player actually gets put on the inactive list after a bad week of practice ... that's a real demonstration of holding people accountable. I like it. Not saying Lynn is or isn't the solution for the Bills' HC woes, but I'd like to see him have a go at it - hopefully for a very, very long time. -
Anthony Lynn: Should he be the next head coach?

Not seeing the parallels - can you elaborate on this some? Thanks. -
Anybody Have A Change Of Heart About Gilmore?
ChasBB replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ok, right, I forgot they did try to sign him. Anyhow, agree - hope he moves along. -
Anybody Have A Change Of Heart About Gilmore?
ChasBB replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think what is overlooked is why wasn't he traded last off-season? Why go into the season with a guy the Bills front office did not believe enough in to give a long-term contract to? It creates an mistrusting environment with neither party knowing or believing the intentions of the other. If the front office didn't really believe in the guy, then see what you can do on the trade market. All this said, I didn't see the game (yet), but if what you say is accurate, then the guy is truly a disgrace - regardless of circumstances, contracts, or whatever. It's about having competitors on the field and he's been a weak link in that regard, it seems. -
Rumor: Some in Bills org want to move on from Dareus
ChasBB replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What really sucks is that he will mature and go on to have a lengthy and successful career with some other team - like the Patriots, for example. -
We are going to so get rolled on Sunday...
ChasBB replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sweeping the Pats would be great, but it is losing the games they are supposed to win (i.e. Dolphins) that is a reminder of 16 seasons of futility. Buffalo doesn't win the games they are supposed to win. If they'd take care of that, I'd be ok with losing the games they are expected to lose. Now, they are in a must-win game already because they didn't take care of business when they should have won. Frustrating team to follow all these years. I thought maybe this year was different, but the Dolphins game proved otherwise. This is not yet a serious team. Hope they prove that statement wrong by winning the games they are supposed to win the rest of the season (which doesn't include tomorrow). -
No rumor, Bills are working out RB Kar. Williams today!!
ChasBB replied to ChanOverChin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
... and this is why Rex smartened up and didn't waste a roster spot on a 2nd kicker this season. Thank goodness for that - provides some flexibility to bring guys in. -
ESPN: Ryans planning to take control.
ChasBB replied to ChanOverChin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wasn't it just a rumor that Pegula delivered the ultimatum? I seem to recall that story being discredited shortly after it came out, though I don't have a link at the moment. -
Standing or Charging: Which Bills' Logo is Better?
ChasBB replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Option 3 - neither Dumbest logo in all of sports. The team's namesake (Buffalo Bill) hunted and killed the team's logo (the bison) for sport and we wonder why the team defeats itself on Sundays. -
Ralph made a bid for the LA KIngs in the 1960's?
ChasBB replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Oh no, we traded Kareem Abdul Jabbar for draft picks and we let Magic Johnson go to free agency - Ralph is cheap - ah, what could have been. Oh, nm, wrong sport. -
Sully embarrasses himself at the Super Bowl
ChasBB replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When I look at a guy like Cam Newton, all I'm thinking about is what an immense talent the guy is and how I wish he was a Buffalo Bill. I'm not thinking about his skin color. It's not even remotely in the realm of any thoughts I might have about the player or the man -- I just see an extremely talented guy. Not until, that is, a guy like Sullivan comes along and asks a bone-headed question like that. In my experience, the person who first interjects color/race into any conversation ... well, that person *is* the racist. He's probably a democrat. -
y, I hated when he left Buffalo, too. Wanted to see him stay at least one more season as OC, but can't blame him for accepting an HC position. RIP.

Would Tebow be a better back up QB than EJ?
ChasBB replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the choice is ONLY EJ vs. Tebow, I'd take Tebow. That said, I think we can do better for a backup QB over both of these guys. However, if I'm allowed to pick only one of the above, I go with Tebow. At least Tebow has one playoff win on his resume - that's something. -
Polian Willing to Help Bills, But Doesn't Want Czar Role
ChasBB replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, I'd let the architect of 4 Super Bowl teams back in the building - my God - why not?!!! Nothing against Whaley - I think the guy has done a decent (not great, but very decent) job of bringing in talent and would like to have him around, but no way I wouldn't let Polian in. If that offends anyone on the current staff - too damn bad. He's earned whatever role he is given and no one else really can say that. -
Rob Ryan Is in Town; Just Visiting.....LOL
ChasBB replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Great quote. Hey, hope Rex wasn't holding back this season so as to not make his brother look bad - kidding, of course. I do hope Rex gets more aggressive with this defense in the weeks leading up to what is hoped to be the Bills' first playoff appearance in a very, very long time!!! They can do this if they lock-in on every opponent the way they did the Texans. Good idea to at least bring in Rob as a temporary consultant to help with valuable input on the upcoming three opponents. Go Bills!
