Anybody else have faith in AJ Mccarron?
ChasBB replied to Rebel101's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Culley does have some QB coaching experience from early 80's (quite a long time ago) and he also played QB at Vandy for 3 seasons, but that is traditionally a running team. You make a point, but if Beane and McDermott can find good players, I trust they know how to find good coaches, too. Culley has extensive NFL coaching experience and I don't think he should be underestimated in his current role. -
The big take-away from his coach's viewpoint, for me, was that because of his big arm, defenses will have to cover virtually the entire field. That being the case, that will really lend itself to a successful running game, too, with defenses having to respect the deep ball and the safety not being able to cheat much against the run. Having to cover so much of the field will wear defenses down over time. If and when Allen takes over the starting role, this factor could make for some big 4th quarter scoring for Buffalo.

Show Me Your Allegiance! Trade Up or Stay Put POLL
ChasBB replied to thunderingsquid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With 6 picks in the top 100, Buffalo can fill a lot of holes with starters. I just can't see giving all that away on a single player - one who may not pan out. This QB class still seems suspect to me - this isn't exactly an Elway/Marino/Kelly type of QB class. Time will tell and I could be wrong, but just not seeing it happening that way. If Bills can draft well again this year with all these picks, they will be well on their way towards being a regular playoff contender. -

Beane is “Trying Like Hell” To Move Up For a QB
ChasBB replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like the QBs on our roster - would be totally ok if we don't make another QB move this offseason. -
Is the trade even official? Why no mention of it on BuffaloBills.com? Pending a physical or something? Why no announcement from Buffalo Bills and not listed in "Transactions" on Buffalobills.com ?

If the OC is Bevell I see 2 Things.....
ChasBB replied to JMF2006's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
ANY thoughts of keeping TT is just a joke. Dennison is taking the axe because TT is crappy QB. If TT could come close to executing a play as designed, Dennison is still employed. This is not a ringing endorsement of Dennison, but there's no one who can build a successful system around TT - it cannot be done and it's unfair to put an OC in the position of being stuck with the worst NFL QB in modern times. -
Which player steps up this Sunday?
ChasBB replied to Bronxbomber21's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tyrod Taylor will have the game of his life, I believe. This doesn't change my opinion about Peterman, who I think should take over, but I think TT is going to have a freakishly great game on Sunday. -

Ok, like I said, I don't know the rules for that, so thanks for helping me out there. I just wouldn't trust a thing is all I'm saying. I would certainly understand the provided equipment as completely as possible to see if interception of communications is possible.

Now we're getting closer. Mr. ex-military intelligence man with a photographic memory - Mr. Ernie Adams. Imagine having a guy with a photographic memory who has watched every single bit of film on every player and every opponent, collectively?! Think that skill might be slightly useful when assembling the weekly game plan? Thank goodness football is a game of bounces or else NE might not ever lose a single game. In all seriousness, if I could take one piece away from New England, it wouldn't be Brady and it wouldn't be Belichick. It would be Mr. Ernie Adams. Take Adams away and the Patriots become a slightly better-than-average team, imo. I would sweep the coach's box, sideline benches/equipment and locker room for bugs before every game at Gillette. Whether I'm in the booth or on the sidelines, I'm covering my lips while speaking - at ALL times. If I'm not covering my lips, then I'm saying something to intentionally throw them off. I don't know what the rules are, but I would do everything in my power to bypass any supplied forms of communications equipment. I would want to have my own highly secured equipment and would want all communications scrambled so they cannot be intercepted and I would alter the frequencies of communication constantly during the game. I'd be watching ANYONE on the sidelines who is not in my organization - guys who have field passes for whatever legitimate reason and I'd have a couple of highly-trained security folks on my staff to watch for anything unusual happening around or near my players and coaches during the games. I would not assume that even my own facility is secure. Times have changed. The Patriots are cheaters on steroids and you have to assume that they have, and will continue, to use any means necessary to gain an advantage.

Petition For Buffalo To Declare a "Dalton - Boyd Day"
ChasBB replied to BadLandsMeanie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In addition to Dalton/Boyd, let's give thanks to ... Darqueze Dennard - 89-yard pick-6 - are you kidding! - just WOW! Carlos Dunlap for the big sack on Ravens' final drive! Vincent Rey with William Jackson teaming up on the final stop!! -
NFL.com has the Ravens in the playoffs...?
ChasBB replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Really, this is payback for the Chargers doing exactly this to Buffalo in the 70's, I think it was (or early 80's?). Anyhow, I can't remember exactly what season it was without researching it, but I recall that Buffalo had beaten San Diego head-to-head that season and I think they were tied at 9-5, but Buffalo lost out on the tie-breaker. So, nice to see that little piece of history kind of erased with one that goes our way for a change! Go Bills! Edit: well, not quite - it was 1980 Bills/Chargers I was thinking of - both teams finished 11-5 and Buffalo won during regular season against them, but had to travel to San Diego to play them in the playoffs (Ferguson's gutsy performance on a gimpy ankle - great game). But that's not the same thing as being eliminated on a tie-breaker. All the same, good to see Buffalo win the tie breaker! -

Bills over Dolphins 31-21 Bengals over Ravens 22-20 Jags over Titans 32-16 Raiders over Chargers 36-23 -
Nope, should have changed divisions when the NFL re-organized many years ago. Only stayed in division w/Miami because Ralph wanted it that way.

Marshawn Lynch needs 98 yards to hit 10000 yards and NFL Network says Stub Hub Center gonna be packed with Raiders fans - that's good for Buffalo. -
Jax, so Buffalo has the opportunity to get back at Marrone for quitting.
-
if it is fixed, the NFL is going to lose their audience. I know a guy who has stopped watching football just because of the stuff NE gets away with. He believes the fix is in and is no longer a fan. If this is what the NFL wants, keep letting NE get all the calls and see if fans keep coming. The guy isn't a Bills fan, either.

When did you know today's game was over?
ChasBB replied to Chicharito's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe it was somewhere around here ... still a one-score game with nearly 16 minutes of football left to be played ... wasn't quite expecting to see this ... -
I didn't like seeing Taylor on the bench with his head down in the 3rd quarter after the Pats just scored a TD on the drive following the drive where Taylor took a 15-yard sack. You'd think the last second of the game had just ticked off the clock and Taylor was lamenting the loss. But, no, it was only the 3rd quarter. There was a lot of football ahead at this stage of the game. To see that type of response from Taylor was almost repulsive to me. I was hoping he was looking at screenshots of plays or something, but I think he was just looking down due to dejection. When the moment is big, Taylor tends to shrink and I don't like that in him. That, and his inability to consistently find his receivers. Peterman kept his head up even during the SD debacle -- a much better message to his teammates than what I saw today from Taylor. That wasn't a great demonstration of leadership when the moment was big. All this said, very proud of what the Buffalo Bills have accomplished, to date. They are a competitive bunch, but they need a few more changes, still. That they are in a serious hunt for a wildcard spot going into the final week of the season and that is real progress over the past few seasons. They can really get there this season - it is not impossible. I still think it will happen no matter who starts against Miami at QB next week. I'd prefer Peterman, but Taylor can win that game, too. Go Bill!
