  1. I would not support any trade for Mack that involves Peterman. If Gruden needs a qb as part of the deal, he can have McCarron (don't want to lose McCarron, either, but if it means getting Mack, then yes).
  2. Hell, might as well just put a red shirt on the QB and equip him with a flag and say the QB position is now flag football and the QB cannot be touched if they're going to make crappy calls like this.
  3. Have to agree with you. Plus, Foster didn't lay out earlier and at least try to get that early ball that would have been a TD. Yes, overthrown a bit, but really would have liked to see more effort to go after that ball from Foster.
  4. You can't play the "what if" game. ANY player on our roster could go down at any time, so you can't make a decision to get a player or not to get a player based on "what if he gets hurts" - it just goes with the territory. It's rare a player like Mack would become available at this stage in his career. Defense wins championships. This defense would be absolutely suffocating to opponents. The offense will develop just fine - they work hand-in-hand with a great defense setting up the offense in better field position. You have a chance at a guy like Mack, you take it.
  5. I like this! Plus, the guy always WANTED to play in Buffalo, I think I've seen somewhere - get er done!
  6. Beane looks to be a shrewd negotiator. I have to think that if the GM roles were reversed and Beane was representing the Browns that he would have added a clause to make it a higher draft pick in the event that Coleman actually plays like a 1st round draft pick in 2018 (like he did Marcell Dareus -- getting a 5th rounder from the Jags instead of a 6th if the Jags made the playoffs with Dareus contributing). Total steal by Buffalo. Hope it works out.
  7. This is not a sign of a lack of confidence. It's just a sign that he knows the starting job has to be earned. He's not going to say on opening day of training camp that he expects to start - that would just be disrespectful. In his own mind, he perhaps keeps the mentality that he expects to start, but all 3 of the QBs have this mindset. His low-key comments is just showing respect for the process of earning a starting spot and nothing more needs to be read into it.
  8. Cowerd will be eating crow sometime around Oct/Nov. This was a playoff team last year. They finally got a taste of the playoffs and this team will want more of that. I don't see a backslide from last season. No matter which of our 3 QBs earns the starting job, we will be improved at QB this season. I trust in coaching staff to do the best with what they have and to make changes whenever needed. Buffalo will be returning to the playoffs again this season. I do expect them to have a slow start, as Cowerd mentions, but nothing as severe as 1-7 at the halfway mark.
  9. I was at that Miami game. JP Losman was our QB. I was also at Baltimore Colts game in Buffalo 1975 where Buffalo was up 21-0 and ending up losing 42-35. Bert Jones kept tossing screen passes and Buffalo could not stop it to save their lives. Oh, and that Miami game was the one got Eric Moulds suspended by Mularkey for sideline altercation.
  10. Thanks for clearing that up - didn't hear that story before.
  11. 11/18/1979 - Rich Stadium - Bills 19, Packers 12 10/30/1988 - Rich Stadium - Bills 28, Packers 0 11/20/1994 - Rich Stadium - Bills 29, Packers 20 9/10/2000 - Ralph Wilson Stadium - Bills 27, Packers 18 11/5/2006 - Ralph Wilson Stadium - Bills 24, Packers 10 12/14/2014 - Ralph Wilson Stadium - Bills 21, Packers 13
  12. I'm afraid the reference went over my head - can only think of Robert Griffin III, but doubt that's who you mean ? Yes, "Cold Front" was a top candidate. I think the list got to about 30 names or so! Well, I guess it passes time in the off-season!
  13. I would prefer a Great Lakes themed convention center - not anything to do with local sports.
  14. +1 The naysayers would have been out in force had in missed the entire cage on a throw.
  15. Wait a minute. Seems to me many of us (myself included) were trying to come up with a name for Rex's defense his first year here. But then they stepped onto the field. Not saying that about Josh - the guy is the future, but maybe any nick names or phrases should be earned, first?
  16. Agree - thought he would turn it around. I didn't like the Levy hiring (as a coach) - thought he was just another tired re-tread.
  17. I really believe in the coaching staff assembled, so yes, I do believe the above is possible. I think the wheels come off the Patriots about mid-season this year - from all accounts, it is kind of a toxic environment in Pats land these days - do not see Pats having a successful season this year. The offensive line is going to surprise people, too.
  18. 1. Bills offense may start slowly due to its complexity (kind of like Pats typically do), but will start steamrolling opponents after game 3. (in other words, be patient with this offense early on - the wait will be worth it) 2. Bills win AFCE and win at least one playoff game. 3. Bills will be on the upside of six lopsided scores this season. 4. Kyle Williams doubles his rushing output in 2018. 5. Buffalo finds its Swagger again!
  19. No, mediocre was more than enough in TT's view. And with TT's penchant for leaving plays on the field, "mediocre" could be an overstatement of his play. The guy had his moments, I'll give him that, but I just don't think he can carry a franchise. I feel much better about our QB roster this season - much better.
  20. It's only OTAs, so there's no point in a lot of hype about anyone right now, imo. The bottom line is that the Bills have 3 QBs who could legitimately win the starting job week 1. And whoever that is will have to prove they can keep it because there will be two other capable QBs who will each be glad to take over, if needed. That's a good spot to be in, really - great to have competition at the QB position. If the starter is Allen, great. I think I'd be ok with any of the 3 winning the job in a legitimate competition. I think Bills can win with any of them enough times to make another playoff run. We'll see. I'm the optimistic sort, most times. I like all 3 QBs.
  21. Yes, thank you for this board! It's always had s consistent and clean design - far better that most boards - a great place to get caught up on Bills' happenings.
  22. Agree with OP - nothing but upside with Allen. I think more than a few teams will be kicking themselves a year or two from now that they didn't make a run for Allen. Time will tell, of course.
  23. On the contrary, I completely like our situation at QB. If one of the 3 QBs completely outperforms the other two during training camp and pre-season, that QB has to get the job and it could realistically be any of the 3. They are all capable. And I'm not giving up on Peterman, either. He's right in the mix so far as I'm concerned. Whichever of the 3 wins the starting job, I'm totally ok with that.
