  1. Where's that f-u smiley when we really need it?
  2. The new Eagles Live DVD set rocks...
  3. I saw a "hadji" bootlegged version over here and I liked it. I agree with some of your assesments like the cricket gun thing... I thought it was really good though although I thought it took a little too long to get to the island. Some of the early scenes seemed to drag on a little... I wish I could've seen it on the big screen with the theatre sound and experience but you take what you can get....
  4. You an idiot? You obviously haven't read any of "coach's" posts....
  5. I'm one of Darin's "nerd friends"... I wanna play, I wanna play...
  6. Show me a winning coach that isn't blessed with exceptional talent. There's a lot more to coaching than just the personnel you have on the field. You still have to keep them together as a cohesive unit and motivate them to play together. It's just like the military. You can have the best individual Marines in the world but you're only as strong as your weakest one....
  7. I'll be back from Iraq by then. I played QB in high school... I can do it... really... Git er done TD... Oh wait, he's gone...
  8. Happy New Year to you as well....
  9. I bought the movie today at the px. We're going to watch it tonight.... I'm pretty pumped judging by everyones reviews of it on here...
  10. Happy Birthday!
  11. I'll second that....
  12. Here's another good one. Enjoy your Christmas this year. I'll be home next year... TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS, HE LIVED ALL ALONE, IN A ONE BEDROOM HOUSE MADE OF PLASTER AND STONE. I HAD COME DOWN THE CHIMNEY WITH PRESENTS TO GIVE, AND TO SEE JUST WHO IN THIS HOME DID LIVE. I LOOKED ALL ABOUT, A STRANGE SIGHT I DID SEE, NO TINSEL, NO PRESENTS, NOT EVEN A TREE. NO STOCKING BY MANTLE, JUST BOOTS FILLED WITH SAND, ON THE WALL HUNG PICTURES OF FAR DISTANT LANDS. WITH MEDALS AND BADGES, AWARDS OF ALL KINDS, A SOBER THOUGHT CAME THROUGH MY MIND. FOR THIS HOUSE WAS DIFFERENT, IT WAS DARK AND DREARY, I FOUND THE HOME OF A SOLDIER, ONCE I COULD SEE CLEARLY. THE SOLDIER LAY SLEEPING, SILENT, ALONE, CURLED UP ON THE FLOOR IN THIS ONE BEDROOM HOME. THE FACE WAS SO GENTLE, THE ROOM IN SUCH DISORDER, NOT HOW I PICTURED A UNITED STATES SOLDIER. WAS THIS THE HERO OF WHOM I'D JUST READ? CURLED UP ON A PONCHO, THE FLOOR FOR A BED? I REALIZED THE FAMILIES THAT I SAW THIS NIGHT, OWED THEIR LIVES TO THESE SOLDIERS WHO WERE WILLING TO FIGHT. SOON ROUND THE WORLD, THE CHILDREN WOULD PLAY, AND GROWNUPS WOULD CELEBRATE A BRIGHT CHRISTMAS DAY. THEY ALL ENJOYED FREEDOM EACH MONTH OF THE YEAR, BECAUSE OF THE SOLDIERS, LIKE THE ONE LYING HERE. I COULDN'T HELP WONDER HOW MANY LAY ALONE, ON A COLD CHRISTMAS EVE IN A LAND FAR FROM HOME. THE VERY THOUGHT BROUGHT A TEAR TO MY EYE, I DROPPED TO MY KNEES AND STARTED TO CRY. THE SOLDIER AWAKENED AND I HEARD A ROUGH VOICE, "SANTA DON'T CRY, THIS LIFE IS MY CHOICE; I FIGHT FOR FREEDOM, I DON'T ASK FOR MORE, MY LIFE IS MY GOD, MY COUNTRY, MY CORPS." THE SOLDIER ROLLED OVER AND DRIFTED TO SLEEP, I COULDN'T CONTROL IT, I CONTINUED TO WEEP. I KEPT WATCH FOR HOURS, SO SILENT AND STILL AND WE BOTH SHIVERED FROM THE COLD NIGHT'S CHILL. I DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE ON THAT COLD, DARK, NIGHT, THIS GUARDIAN OF HONOR SO WILLING TO FIGHT. THEN THE SOLDIER ROLLED OVER, WITH A VOICE SOFT AND PURE, WHISPERED, "CARRY ON SANTA, IT'S CHRISTMAS DAY, ALL IS SECURE." ONE LOOK AT MY WATCH, AND I KNEW HE WAS RIGHT. "MERRY CHRISTMAS MY FRIEND, AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT." This poem was written by a Marine.
  13. Merry Christmas!!!
  14. Thank you. You all have a great Christmas too. Actually Donahoe's future and Spikes ankle take my mind off the crap here. Only 7 weeks till I'm back..
  15. haha... Thanks. I was up there over the 4th of July right before I came out here to Iraq and they put on the best freakin fireworks show I'd ever seen. I couldn't believe how good that show was. Olean is a very patriotic town. I love that....
  16. I actually graduated from Portville. My Mom graduated from Walsh many moons ago... My brother graduated from Olean High.... I lived with my Grandmother for a while on state street right across the road from Mickeys...
  17. I haven't aggressively yet. I have a little over two years until I can retire and if I can talk my wife into it, I will be. I know there's nothing in Olean because I have a lot of family there still but until I get to within about 6 months I can't look too much. I will try though, that's where I would love to live.
  18. Glad to hear you're doing better. Merry Christmas everyone and please say a prayer for those of us not fortunate enough to be home this Christmas with our loved ones.
  19. I grew up in Olean which is a little over an hour south of Buffalo but I love it there and miss it very much. Have been all over the world in the Marines since and would love to go back if there was a job for me. I have so many great memories of there, Niagara Falls, Bills games, Sabres games (at the Aud), Darien Lake, sitting on my Grandma's front porch watching traffic when it rained. There's NOTHING about living there I didn't like. Small town feel which I love and miss.
  20. But if you're only down 12 and make the 2 point conversion then you're down 10. Now you only need a touchdown and field goal to force overtime.... or am I missing something here?
  21. I hope that reaches over here...
  22. Let's hope they keep it up....
  23. 60. Snow ball fights. 59. The beauty and peacefulness of it all...
