  1. I don't - in fact, like you, i believe that science eventually supports the things that people take on faith. All i'm saying is that I would've liked to have seen a little more of that science explained.
  2. I actually had the opposite reaction. Although the finale was ok and 'feel good' i definitely didn't like the way they went to a spiritual explanation rather than the sci fi aspects. The thing that I always loved about this show were all the scientific pieces that seemed to exist and was looking for a conclusion that would tie them all together. As season six progressed i realized that wasn't going to happen. I also can't understand how regular viewers of this show could've been confused about the sideways world or if the island was real or not. Seemed fairly obvious to me. Overall the series was without comparison to anything i've watched by far, and probably the only current show on tv that i considered can't miss tv. P.S. I've been a lurker here for the past few years and want to thank all the 'regulars' that contributed to this thread weekly. You guys always came up with salient discussion that always added to the experience of the show. I will truly miss this show.
  3. Uh, probably runs in the family. Can't escape genetics. Should be "extolling my wife and me"
  4. I can understand him not wanting to be vocal publically too. How long that will last is yet to be seen. But i sure as hope he's laying into a few people in the locker room.
  5. He's doing his best to be 'good' but we need him to be TO and speak his mind. It's obvious to him (repeatedly says 'just going with the plays that are called') as it is to us that the gameplan and/or Trent need to improve. How we can't get him and Lee involved in this offense is beyond me. You almost have to go out of your way to exclude guys of this talent level. Throw some slants, jump balls, to these guys early and get them in the game for god's sake. Makes no sense. Q: What did you think of the offense overall? Terrell Owens: Didnt execute. Q: Why do you think the offense didnt execute? T.O.: We lost the game, what do you think? Q: On the deep ball at the tunnel end did you pull up on that? T.O.: No. Q: Trent couldnt get the ball downfield and it seemed like everything was short and check downs. T.O.: I was just going with the plays that were called. Q: Was it something their defense was doing out there? T.O.: What do you think? Q: You tell me, youre out there T.O.: Im just going with the plays that are called. Q: Your frustration level right now? T.O.: Im good. Just got to get ready for next week. Q: Do you feel you and Lee (Evans) are being wasted in this offens? T.O.: Were just going with the plays that are called. Q: You could say no right there. T.O.: Im just going with the plays that are called. Q: Do you like the plays that are called? T.O.: Whether I like them or dont, Im just going with the plays that are called. Q: How about the decisiosn that are made after the plays are called? The quarterbacks decisions after the play is called? T.O.: Youd have to ask him Q: Im asking what you think. T.O.: I dont want to answer that because whatever I say you guys are turn it into however you want to say it. Q: Well print whatever you say word for word. T.O.: I just answered you sir. Q: Any thoughts on the end of your catch streak (185 straight games)? T.O.: Its over. Q: Did it have any meaning to you at all? T.O.: We didnt win the game. Q: Do you feel bad for the defense? T.O.: Weve just got to regroup and get ready for next week. http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2009/09/28/t...-game-comments/

  7. A couple of things from the premiere that i don't think have been discussed yet. 1. When the island moved all the castaways moved with it. But the Others (original inhabitants) didn't. For example, Locke was standing with Richard and some others when the first move happened but only he moved with the island. Richard disappeared - where/when did he go? Richard came and found him after the fact. 2. Ben is leading Jack and the rest on a mission to get back to the island. He implies that he'll be going back with them. But didn't he say last season that once he moved the island, he would never be able to go back?
  8. Wrong. If they ruled the player was standing out of bounds when the ball touched him, then it's an illegal kick out of bounds and the ball should've been placed at the 40. This exact scenario happened in a game earlier this year (i think it was a bills game) and the ball was indeed placed at the 40.
  9. Make that 5!
  10. Same old schite, different season.
  11. As bad as the coaching/play calling has been this year, the season came down to turnovers. If we protected the football better, we’d probably be in the playoffs. The Bills rank 29th out of 32 teams in giveaways with 14 fumbles and 15 interceptions. Only HOU, STL, and SF were worse. We ranked 28th in turnover differential with a -8. I truly believe that some players just don’t get how important this is. We all know how irresponsible J.P. was with the ball this past week, but if you go back to our losses, almost all come down to a few plays where we were loose with the football. Obviously this needs to be stressed by the coaches and I wouldn’t put it past Dick that he hasn’t done enough of this. But the players have just as much responsibility when they’re out on the field. Simple rule of thumb for these guys that have been playing the game for most of their lives – don’t hand the other team the ball if you want to win. 2008 Wk 1: SEA, 0 giveaways, +2 differential, Win Wk 2: JAX, 1, +1, Win Wk 3: OAK, 3, -2, Win Wk 4: STL, 1, +1, Win Wk 5: ARI, 4, -4, Loss Wk 6: Bye Wk 7: SD, 0, +3, Win Wk 8: MIA, 4, -3, Loss Wk 9: NYJ, 3, -2, Loss Wk 10: NE, 2, -1, Loss Wk 11: CLE, 4, -4, Loss Wk 12: KC, 0, +5, Win Wk 13: SF, 1, 0, Loss Wk 14: MIA, 2, -2, Loss Wk 15: NYJ. 4, -2, Loss Historical differentials and season results: 2007: +9, 7-9 2006: -5, 7-9 2005: +4, 5-11 2004: +10, 9-7 2003: -16, 6-10 2002: -12, 8-8 2001: -14, 3-13 2000: +6, 8-8 1999: -6, 11-5, wild card 1998: +11, 10-6, wild card 1997: -20, 6-10 1996: -8, 10-6, wild card 1995: +2, 10-6, afc east champs 1994: -6, 7-9 1993: +12, 12-4, afc east champs, super bowl 1992: -3, 11-5, wild card, super bowl 1991: +4, 13-3, afc east champs, super bowl Definitely some exceptions to the rule there, but the overall lesson is clear.
  12. 21-17 Bulls. Unbelievable! Ball State had gotten down to the Bulls 1 then on 3rd down: N. Davis rushed to the left for no gain. N. Davis fumbled. M. Newton recovered fumble and returned for 92 yards
  13. 14-10 Bulls, early 3rd quarter. That was a great play call. D. Willy passed to N. Roosevelt to the left for 39 yard touchdown.
  14. Must be some virus in the air at one bills drive. RJ JPL TE?
  15. The regresssion of Edwards continues. He's not the same quarterback we saw early in the season. I'm not sure what happened to his psyche but it's in bad shape. Was afraid to throw the ball downfield. What's concerning is not the interceptions but the fact that he totally changed his mindset afterwards. The successful ones keep attacking and forget about the past quickly. He was the opposite - constant check downs - no throws on timing patterns - waiting for receivers to get wide open and then throwing late. Can't blame the o-line tonight - he had tons of time in the pocket. Mentally not there right now.
  16. Watching two of the most unfortunate franchises in the NFL duke it out, you just knew it was going to be a heartbreaker one way or the other. The Browns have already had their share this year. But i was sure we'd take the title tonight and when Lindell lined up, it was a given that he'd miss. I don't even get as worked up as i used to over losses like this because i know it's coming. It's got to be some sort of cosmic practical joke. Someone, somewhere, in a place beyond our understanding, is laughing his ass off.
  17. The guy is already dead. You can't kill a corpse.
  18. This organization hasn't had any balls at the top in a very long time.
  19. Your playoff prediction isn't looking so good.
  20. There was 1:28 left when Royal got tackled at the 35. I am still in disbelief that an NFL head coach did what i just saw and is still employed.
  21. He was tonight - who settles for a 45 yard field goal into the wind. He coaches scared - total loser's mentality.
  22. You'd think Dick could crack a smile
  23. Exactly - this has to be a doctored video. I'm thinking along the lines of that unbelievable catch by the ball girl gatorade commercial.
