  1. I thought about that, but I am hoping we have less of that in the McDermott era... but you know the saying "wish in one hand and ____ in the other, see which gets filled first"
  2. I agree with your points and I am CAUTIOUSLY optimistic
  3. I would bet the over, I see six games they "should" win: Jets Broncos Buccaneers @Jets Saints Dolphins I think they get at least one more from: @Panthers @Bengals @Chargers @Chiefs Colts @Dolphins
  4. I don't see McDermott as a guy who would be happy with two very unproven guys behind Taylor. If Taylor gets hurt, especially early in the year they would be in the same situation Marrone was in with starting Tuel, I don't see him as a guy who wants to look "unprepared". My guess is Peterman makes the team unless he is really awful and unless Jones makes remarkable progress Yates is the number 2. Jones goes to the practice squad if he passes through waivers,
  5. I agree Couldn't agree more. Perfectly said
  6. I'm fine with waiting until later to draft a QB I agree none of these guys are "can't miss" talent, where I disagree with Sal is " the last thing the Bills need is another whiff like 2013 first-rounder EJ Manuel" Trying and missing isn't bad. Just don't sit on that mistake, if they clearly miss this year take another shot next year. They need to find a QB above all else.
  7. I was a little concerned about this when I read about the Bills front office contemplating not picking up the option on Watkins.
  8. Yes, a QB is so important they need to keep picking until they find their Russell Wilson/Dak Prescott
  9. The knock I've read about him in addition to his accuracy is that he doesn't read defenses very well, makes bad decisions and isn't the hardest worker. I hope the Bills continue to draft QB's until they get it right. Let Jones earn the back-up role.
  10. I couldn't agree more.
  11. That was my thought when I initially read to 5-10 receiver but when you think about it could you name 10 guys you take over him for next year if you were able to sign anyone? I think Julio Jones, Antonio Brown, Beckham jr, Jordy Nelson Mike Williams come to mind but after that its hard to come up with many guys who I'd rather have at WR
  12. I agree with your premise he is the best coach ever and does exactly what you say regarding knowing and taking advantage of the rules but he absolutely cheated as well. The spygate mess was not within NFL rules.
  13. I think the Bills match if the Pats do make an offer
  14. I agree with Sully a great deal of the time, I disagree with him significantly with regards to his comments about the Pegulas. While I am frustrated as anyone with the losing I am still very very grateful to them for saving the Bills. If the Bills ever left Buffalo there would never be another team to replace them. As heartbreaking as it is for the fans in San Diego, Oakland and St Louis there is at least some hope that they could get another franchise. Buffalo would be done. Putting up over a billion dollars to buy the team and keep it here is above and beyond. Yes I understand the value of the team is not likely to decline and the team will make them a lot of money but I also understand that the team could make them a lot more money if they bought it and moved it to Toronto, LA or another large market. I am also surprised and impressed how they have not only not asked for a new stadium with all the bells and whistles (and lucrative PSL licenses) they have resisted pressure from the NFL to do so again protecting Buffalo and its fans. All of that far far outweighs any hiring mistakes or other perceived "dumb" things they have done. What immunizes them from criticism even more is that they seem to want to win as much as we do.
  15. So you know for a fact that McCoy is happy with the Bills and vice versa? You clearly don't know what a fact is.
  16. Wow I didn't know that the Raiders were planning on playing two more years in Oakland. The recent MO with teams moving is they announce it and then play somewhere else the next year. This could be a couple of ugly years for the Raiders in Oakland.
  17. Tough to debate logic like that
  18. That's great, I'm glad you have your rules about what names you call stadiums. I don't think this is an issue worth debating about since there isn't a right answer is subjective. Exactly! If you grew up a Mets fan you know the Mets play at Shea like Seaver will always be The Franchise.
  19. Wow I wish I were as cool and smart as you, coming up with conversation ending lines like that. Despite being "put in my place" I'll respond. To recap: I originally write that I get the sense that there is some tension brewing between the Bills and McCoy based on the subtle digs I when I read McDermott's statements about McCoy not attending the voluntary work out and McCoy's prior vague statements that seemed to indicate he was leaving. I didn't take sides with either the coach or the player, I don't know enough about what is really going at 1 BD to do that. Someone over reacted to my post as if it was INSANE to speculate on that. In reply I pointed out that McDermott seems to be a "no-nonsense" my way or the highway guy and McCoy has been pretty outspoken. It is certainly possible that they might not be seeing eye to eye. Again not blaming anyone just throwing out a suspicion or speculation which I hope is incorrect. Can we have conversations and express opinions without the drama and personal attacks?
  20. Agreed! Then they all bend over backwards trying to find ways to validate Kaepernick
  21. That's a little over the top don't you think? You find it impossible to even think that an obviously hard-nosed, no nonsense coach and a player with a history of speaking his mind and having public spats with a coach are not getting along? You're right that is crazy
  22. I hate to see the Raiders leave Oakland, it just doesn't seem "right" and those fans are among the best in football. That being said the article is full of half-truths and some outright lies. I've been to the Oakland Coliseum (2012) and it is truly the worst stadium I have ever seen and I have been to been to 34 in my lifetime (some of them have been replaced). I would say the idea of eminent domain for a football team is both idiotic and unconstitutional but since the appeals process would take it through the 6th Circuit Court, never say never I don't believe that for one second, the value of all the major sports leagues grows at a rate that far outpaces inflation. If they were really ready to "give the keys back" they could sell the team for a nice profit in a second.
  23. I was thinking the same thing, I am hoping (praying) he told them that this will be his final year and Little Bill is going with him. That would explain why they are holding on to Garoppolo (signing him to an extension now would raise attention)
