I really don't understand why anyone goes to Bills home games
pkwwjd replied to zonabb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I must be old, too ... I thought we were all in 'this' together. I don't let my fun infringe on those around me. Act towards others how I would want to be treated. I've been going to games since 1979 ... Maybe I was a little naïve back then, but I didn't see/hear nearly the volume of what took place on Thursday. When the extent of every sentence that is uttered (screamed, really) in my hearing has more f-bombs than any other part of speech ... I just simply watch the game unless the surrounding people become abusive or obnoxious directly towards me or my wife. Y'know ... Try to not infringe my fun (watching the game) on the fun of those around me (drinking beyond drunkenness, being vulgar towards other spectators and/or players and their families, hiding contraband, ... Generally just being more involved in anything besides what is taking place on the field). -
Have to address the Beebe play ... Rules are clear, when any part of your body besides your feet or hand touch the ground after contact with an opponent (whether or not they caused the part of your body to touch the ground) you are ruled down by contact and there can be no fumble. Beebe was upended by an opponent and the first thing to hit the ground was his head which caused him to drop the ball. Correct call was no fumble.

Jerry Jones: NFL should outlaw kneel-downs
pkwwjd replied to buffalobillsfootball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've always been in favor of adopting what they have in arena leagues. On a run play, you must gain yardage or the clock stops ... Doesn't create a rule that is difficult to police or find loopholes in & makes more plays more meaningful. Just my thought. -
Not punting - and how it wouldn't have come down to Norwood - TMQ

I remember turning to my brother and making a motion to him with my fingers, saying we need to kick it ... We should have kicked it there ... I'm glad we didn't! -
Just curious about the punt
pkwwjd replied to Logical Reasoning's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My brother and I were a little confused on the 10 second runoff ... We thought that the runoff only takes place if the penalty causes a stoppage of the clock. Since the clock was already stopped due to the spike/incomplete pass ... Should there still be a runoff? -
I didn't read all the responses, so this may have been mentioned. Mark is a friend of mine and to my knowledge he still suffers from migraines.

Fixed it ...

But now Donovan McNabb will really be confused ... Seriously though, I'm getting old so I may just not remember ... Did the playoff version come into play yet? If not, why would the league adopt a rule change that has never been shown to help anything? Also ... Trying out new rules in the playoffs was a backwards way of doing it anyway. Put your practice rules in preseason like they did with the position of the umpire. You could even ask a couple of teams to artificially tie in preseason to see how it works out.

Mario Williams: Officially a Buffalo Bill
pkwwjd replied to buffalo_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Minor detail ... We haven't had Mario here 3 days. It has been less than 48 hours since free agency started. The media seems to focus on the 3 day total to make it sound like it was more desparate or sensationalistic. -

Can't expect anything more from Milbury ... When he was a player he beat a fan with his own shoe during a game ... He should been banned from all hockey involvement for life on that day -

Tebow TD should have been called back!
pkwwjd replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Except that too many men on the field is one of the very few reviewable penalties ... -
Tebow TD should have been called back!
pkwwjd replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
By strict interpretation, the LT is not on the line either ... That wouldn't ever get called -
I still think that Maybin 'Gary Anderson-ed' the Bills ... Gary just accomplished his feat much faster ...

Gailey showed a different side this last game
pkwwjd replied to 1billsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have several files in my workshop that are made of metal (now an alloy of some sort, but used to be made of iron before alloys were discovered) that are designed to shave other metals (including iron). Also ... That phrase shouldn't be attributed to Tebow ... It's Proverbs 27:17 -
Tashard Choice claimed off waivers to replace FredEx

I've been actively calling for him to be cut since last week when he tried his trick on the kickoff, trying to step out of bounds to draw the penalty. Not only did he fail at that (a very simple task) he also lost us a challenge and a timeout by lobbying Gailey to throw the challenge flag. FJ ran the wildcat better than Smith last year...and actually has completed a TD pass out of the formation. Smith should simply be cut as an example.

Not true, the slot receiver on the same side as Jones had a DB playing about 7 yards off. A quick throw nets a first down if he catches it

The condemnation that Jesus had for the Pharisees was much deeper than the fact that they prayed in public. Public prayer was not the issue. It had to do with the fact that the Pharisees primarily practiced their religion when others were watching as a show (what some accuse the athletes of doing). If Jesus was against public displays of faith ... He would have done things very differently Himself. Most of His miracles are recorded as happening in a public setting. There are also recorded prayers of Jesus that were definitely public expressions.

Especially against the 1990 Bills ...

That may be what 'they' say, but it's a real stretch for someone as informed and intelligent as you (and I really mean that) to rely on a simple platitude as a basis for a debate. Every group has that one person (or subgroup) that makes the rest look bad. To group Tebow in with someone like the guy you referred to has nothing to do with his lack of ability to play football, nor any of the issues with which he has used his faith to stand up for. That's poor extrapolation.

Well ... There's a safe statement to make ... If only one more person thinks like that, you have a fraction ... Way to pull an obscure story that only supports YOUR side.
