[Slightly OT] Bills Grammys Nominee - Kelsea Ballerini
pkwwjd replied to cale's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know Gordon (Kim's brother). Very cool guy, talented musician himself. -
Tyrod hasnt heard from the Bills at all

I'm not sure the Cardinals can express interest in a player under contract with another team ... -
They ran the end around fake a few times inside the Miami 20 during the game, including the go ahead drive (I think). My thought was that was stupid to do in the red zone, even dumber when they didn't fake it.
-
Absolutely! They needed to treat it like four down territory

Weather forecast for Steelers game
pkwwjd replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The snow game in Cleveland was 8-0 IIRC ... the 6-3 one was in Buffalo, I sat in the end zone for that painful JV game. -
A few thoughts about the Bengals Game (BillFromNYC Tribute)
pkwwjd replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Smartest play of the game, actually. It shows he knows the rule book. Once the Bengals touched it, the worst that would happen is we get the ball at that point. If he picks it up and fumbles it and the Bengals return it for a touchdown, we get the ball where they last touched it before Tate picked it up. Unusual rule, but always been the case. At least one of the announcers knew the rule. -
The best answer in my mind is found in his CFL days. Flutie set records there. He won the Grey Cup three times, Grey Cup MVP three times, CFL MVP six times ... all in seven years. It sounds amazing until you understand that he did it with three different teams. There was something about him that made teams want to unload him, even as he was the best in the league there at that time. From what I could see ... it was ALWAYS all about him and proving everyone wrong about his height. He was not a team player.

What about the last play of the game? I haven't seen any comments about that yet ... Powell was absolutely flattened by Sherman ( I think). Not sure how to post the video, so I'll link youtube ... https://youtu.be/juyz33D4V-k

The "No Call" heard round the world - How to challenge
pkwwjd replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I understand the objective nature being the reason it's allowed. The reason I brought it up was there were a few posts about not being able to challenge a penalty ... I just wanted to say, 'yes, you can' and highlight how inconsequential it often is compared to holding or PI. -
The "No Call" heard round the world - How to challenge
pkwwjd replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yet ... you can use replay to challenge 12 men on the field, even if they were running off to the sideline. As far as penalties go, that is probably the least impactful penalty but you can challenge it. Sounds like a concession for Brady when they do the quick snap QB sneak just in case they don't make it. -
NFL.com: Kapernick perfect for Chip Kelly offense
pkwwjd replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If such a perfect fit, why play Gabbert for the first five games ...? -
That leads to another question. The few times that I've heard the refs say that another penalty will lead to an ejection, it's always been about taunting after the play. Why wouldn't they do the same after vicious late hits and unnecessary roughing penalties? If they really are concerned about safety. Nope, but throw a ball at another player twice and you're ejected ,.. doesn't make sense.

LAMP ... Off the grid for 2 weeks in Haiti
pkwwjd replied to pkwwjd's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Things were tougher than expected which led to our early retrieval. It took some time to come to grips with it, but here are some thoughts http://www.selden.me/2015/10/10/immersion/ -
Our family moved to Haiti in September to serve as missionaries for the next three (at least) years. We've had a good adjustment as we learn Kreyol and invest in the people. However, today we head to a small community in the central passion for a two week immersion experience to speed up the process of language and culture acquisition. We will have latrines, outdoor showers, no electricity and no personal vehicle. We'd appreciate your prayers as this is a tough prospect. It's like primitive camping in a sauna. I'll check this thread when we get back and, if there's interest, I post some of the pictures. Go Bills and Sabres!

Kim Pegula's Incredible Journey: Orphan to NFL Owner
pkwwjd replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ralph (Kerr) is a friend of mine. He's mainly involved in assisting those in administration of local school districts. Good people ... Definitely not related to the oil/gas field. -
So I'm moving to Haiti this fall as a missionary and we are scaling down the things that we have in the house. Some of those things include Pro! & GameDay programs from late 70s to the early 90s as listed below. Basically, I want to give them to people who want them ... if that's you, let me know. I understand this may get moved to another forum, but wanted to get some response on the wall. I should also specify they are all Bills programs from Rich Stadium. Programs that I have are: November 18, 1979 vs. Packers (No Cover) August 9, 1980 vs. Eagles (Montgomery Cover) November 2, 1980 vs. Falcons (Falcons on Cover) Super Bowl XV (Philly vs. Oakland) August 15, 1981 vs. Browns (Hall of Fame Class of 1981 Cover) November 22, 1981 vs. Patriots (No Cover ... Fergy Hail Mary to Roland Hooks game) September 12, 1983 vs. Chiefs (No Cover) October 21, 1984 vs. Broncos (Jack Lambert Cover) September 21, 1986 vs. Cardinals (Leonard Smith Cover w/Cards) August 13, 1990 vs. Giants (Hall of Fame Class of 1990 Cover) December 22, 1991 vs. Lions (Chris Spielman w/Lions Cover) November 20, 1994 vs. Packers (Reggie White Cover)

Patriots announce press conf for 1/24
pkwwjd replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly ... they aren't making it go away AT ALL ... they are making it worse. And as much as I want them all to resign and go away, BB is way too smart to be getting everyone to pursue this without wanting us to. -
Patriots announce press conf for 1/24
pkwwjd replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My initial reaction to the issue when it came out early in the week was that this was relatively inconsequential to the game that happened and that it is simply a misdirection away from another area that they are cheating in. The way that they have mishandled the press conferences and PR in the days following leads me to reaffirm that belief. They could have come clean in certain ways that didn't leave any sense of question as to their motives, but instead they continue to throw out phrases that keep everyone on their tail ... on this subject. This would keep the attention from whatever else they may be trying to do. I know ... I should probably be wearing a tin foil hat, but since my initial gut reaction has been confirmed by what I see ... -
The Five Most Overrated Players In The NFL
pkwwjd replied to sferris's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hmmm ... A poster with only three posts, starting at least two threads, both with links to questionably written articles? My first and last clue was the shortened URL with wp.me in the address. The dude is just linking to his own Wordpress blog. EDIT: all three posts started threads, all pointing to Wordpress blog. I won't even click given I can tell the content from the threads. Stop giving him free advertising ... And bonus traffic.
