Pete Prisco's Top 50 players
pkwwjd replied to MartyBall4Buffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Think of it this way, ... by straight odds, there should be less than 2 players per team on the list, some will have 2, some will have 1 -- again, understanding 32 teams and 50 spots. Takeo that low? Probably not, there are a bunch that he should be listed above. Of course, there are probably some that didn't make the list that should be above TS. It's a subjective list and it shows that a team full of "great players" (Ravens) don't necessarily do great things. -
I think we're missing the obvious question: Why do fourth grade sports teams need cheerleaders? Anyone?
-
Cinci, Balt, and Cleveland all have to play Pittsburgh twice -- a team that had a better record than the Patsies. Only Baltimore is in the top 7 -- at #6. AFCEast is the toughest division and has been most of the time over the last couple of decades.

Pete Prisco's Top 50 players

right ... cuz ... Manning lost the games, just like Bledsoe, and RJ, and ... I don't disagree with the point that Brady should be higher than Manning, but saying that he can't be #1 until he has a SB ring? Sorry, Brady is a top notch player (as much as I hate to say that), but he did not win the SB by himself or with himself as the top player, no matter what the popularity contest that is the MVP award says. -

Even before then IIRC, the only reason to abide by the national speed limit was to receive federal funding. If a state wanted to go to 65, they forfeited the funding. BUT it was legal for them to do so. Again, I may be mistaken, but that was my understanding. -

definitely start with the originals ... Darth Vader saying that he is Luke's father will be boring and anticlimatic if you've seen the prequels -

Nope, don't usually make it to Rachacha. My parents live in Amherst so that is usually the destination. And we probably won't make it for training camp this year. It just makes me appreciate the time we had last summer ... -

So that they look like drunk, color blind Viking fans? -
The numbers of casualties from other countries is astounding. IIRC, the US has only lost 1.3 million troops in battle. Period. All wars in 200+ years. The vast majority were in the Civil War -- as it was one of the few fought on or adjacent to our turf. 20+ million Russians? Either we know how to fight, or we know how to pick our battles. Human life is precious. This is definitely a distinctive of our country.

The Steelers? They ripped their logo off of the US Steel industry ... I know the name is connected, but cool logo? Any logo that contains all three primary colors should be outlawed. Most art students know that, kinda like most music students follow proper music theory in writing music ... I guess the composers of the 20th century missed that memo, just like the early US Steel industry. -
I thank God everytime that I remember the men who were so valiant on the fields that day (week, month ...) On a lighter note ... Did you notice he sought the blessing of God? Where was the ACLU to get him fired. Doesn't he know that he's mixing church & state ... Just shows how things have changed in this day.

OK, using that logic, my son's little league team are champs cuz they won their six team league in a small town in PA. As opposed to the year that they went to the state tourney and came in second -- I don't think the two even compare. Second in the state tourney is better than winning your six team league without a state tourney. -

I remember 1984-1986 way too well to think that white helmets = bad play we introduced the reds to Buffalo the same year we went 2-14, IIRC -

I had a friend who had undiagnosed twins at the top NeoNatal hospital in Chicago. Had an ultrasound two weeks before a planned CSection. They were ready to sew her back up when another hand popped out. It happens from time to time. -

I have the DVD, got it with the promo for the Bills credit card Very nicely done -- NFL Films production. Sets up the Oilers collapse with a recap of how they gave up a 98 yard drive the year before in the playoffs against ... of course, John Elway. His less famous 98 yarder. Actually not 98 yards, just started on their own 2 and drove for a FG.

Bills/Packers preseason tickets for sale?
pkwwjd replied to Fezmid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm planning on taking my family (wife & 2 kids). Do you think we're better off getting tix ahead of time with the kids' night promo? (I think they get in for $8). Or will we do better with people selling then? Anyone who wants to unload their seasons that night? I think season ticket holders get that game for like $6/ticket -- IIRC I read that somewhere. -
I hear ya. It's just the opinions are stated in such a way that if you don't agree you sound like a spaz. I'm all for opinions. It just seems that our unis are a topic for discussion more than necessary. I know it's the offseason, but they came up very regularly during the season, too. We've had 'em three seasons now. We're not going back to the 90s era ones any time soon. Love 'em or hate 'em, they're our team's unis. Deal with it.

I was just responding to FFS's post about saving money by reworking old stuff. No matter how you do it, whether spending money or not, whether vintage or new, whether dynamic or static ... there will be those who love it ... there will be those who hate it (yes, I know, hate is a strong word ) and those who hate it will talk mercilessly about whatever change it is, until everyone else simply tunes them out. I loved the old Bills colors. I love the new dark jersey, dark pants. I always hated the white on white (seems we lost more than our share wearing them -- so I call them the "Pansy Whites"). Everyone just needs to get over it -- they are the uniforms. Standing Buffalo, Charging Buffalo ... everyone has a favorite. White helmets, red helmets ... everyone has a favorite. Again, they are part of the uniform. Support the team, not the uniform. Don't like the current ones? Search ebay for an old one. Don't buy a new one. Like the new ones? Buy one. I do agree that we should find a place on the unis for a logo -- sick of people wondering about my jersey, if it is a Gints jersey. But, if we don't have a logo on the jersey ... it's OK. It's still MY Bills jersey. And they are MY team.

ah, but anytime they hire someone to do an original, they get crucified -- see, last uniform redesign Anytime something is done not exactly how we want it done, we gripe and complain, cuz that what's we do.

More Episode III Stuff - Easter Eggs
pkwwjd replied to /dev/null's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I missed it, but my 8 year old son saw it. It is when they are landing to meet the politicians after Obi Wan and Anakin rescue Palpatine. -
Ah, that description makes it sound less like a Buff/Houston game, and more like a Buff/Denver game in the fall of 90. 20 points in a minute or so ... That, IMHO, was more impressive than the Wildcard game. Wildcard game had bigger stakes, tho.
