  1. A quick search for Trent's SB year stats didn't yield me a game by game, but we can extrapolate from his season stats: 134-226 59.3% 1502 yards 6.6 y/att 12 TD 11 INT 23 sacks 76.6 rating He only played/started 11 games. So ... his average game that season was: 12.2-20.5 59.3% 136 yards 6.6 y/att 1.1 TD 1 INT 2.1 sacks 76.8 rating (rating changes slightly because of rounding) So far this season, JP is at 26-41 63.4% 247 yards 6.0 y/att 1 TD 0 INT 5 sacks 88.2 rating Average? 13-20.5 63.4% 123.5 yards 6.0 /att 0.5 TD 0 INT 2.5 sacks 88.2 rating Take it for what it's worth. Also note that Dilfer had a much better OLine in front of him IIRC. He also had a rookie Jamal Lewis running for 1364 yards on a 4.4 average.
  2. well, without the PI, we can add 50 yards to the yardage total for the game. Not spectacular, but still well played. It wasn't like the PI was a total gift, like at least the block in the back against Clements was last week.
  3. What football really needs for its rosters is some version of the 15 & 60 day DL that baseball has. Not every 4-5 week injury should force a team to choose between playing shorthanded or jettisoning a player.
  4. Yeah ... the curse of Dan Manucci kept us from winning those first 4 super bowls ...
  5. Yeah, I think he had at least one, maybe two, spearing tackles that magically went uncalled.
  6. I was wrong. Thanks.
  7. I believe you have that backwards ... You can only deny someone entry if you DO charge for entrance. If it's a freebie, you have no grounds to turn anyone away.
  8. I thought this was going to ask if FF becoming mainstream has hurt your interest in football. FF definitely changes the way you watch it. Now you can still have a good season when the Bills don't. Last year I won two leagues and came in 2nd in my other two. It was a fun season. Gave me a diversion. ... but ... that wasn't the question. To answer the real question ... I've been doing FF since 94, when I commished leagues by checking the Chicago Sun-Times on Monday mornings. The main thing this has done for me is make it easier for me to commish more leagues to get more people involved. Yeah, you can pick up a cheatsheet at WalMart, but real research still wins -- like the year I picked up Kurt Warner in the first week after Trent Green got hurt. The only thing that has prevented real research from winning was the stretch of time that having Priest Holmes = Championship in about 80% of leagues.
  9. could be meat, could be cake ...
  10. trade him for a box of tissues (thanks MBD for the quick answer)
  11. Uh ... he had a 61 yarder a couple weeks ago, behind that same line, on a night that he didn't eat, after all, it is only practice right?
  12. His contract says don't cut him. What would be the hit if we trade him? Anyone?
  13. At least he wasn't wear a cut-up old sweatshirt that has seen better days ...
  14. Also remember that Kelly's first year came after 2 (or 3) years in the USFL, and the USFL had 18 regular season games. Kelly came already seasoned. He did not come into the NFL green.
  15. That was my first thought when it was announced that he was going home to bury his mom. Cultural difference (or religious) play into these sorts of events heavily. Someone of faith (whatever that faith may be) will respond differently depending on who has passed. If he is cut by the Bills because of this, I will personally root for him to turn into a great player. Yes, it's a business and the Bills have to think that way, but I would hate to see that happen. He's young, he's barely out of his parents home, and now he's lost his mom. It's not affecting us the way it's affect him. We feel bad (for him or for the Bills) -- while OTOH this has probably turned his world upside down.
  16. To answer the original question: Nall looked pretty good, made mostly good decisions, made mostly good throws. He almost had a Bledsoe moment when he slid 2 yards short of the first down without anyone near him (if it was 4th down, it would have equalled DB's gaffe). He made up for it on the next play with the TD to Ricard. I'd be happy to have him as my #2.
  17. I don't usually focus in on individual units, but on that play I did. I was looking at the OL protection. When the blitz came from the right side, JP immediately threw out to that side and I jumped from my upper deck seat, screaming "yes". I thought it was a case of JP "getting it". He read the play perfectly. Unfortunately, it went right to the DB. I know I don't know as much as Jauron, Tasker or Faulk, but I still think he made the right read -- throw to the blitz side. We may never know, but JP definitely grew up this week.
  18. Smart centers are good. I would challenge you to find more than 2 guys on the 90s SB years that were smarter than Kent Hull.
  19. We're full
  20. 3 more needed by Aug 22 at 10 AM
  21. Bring back Kent Hull ... he's the one that made the no-huddle work Possibly the best OL not in the HOF (and better than many who are in th HOF)
  22. 6 more needed ...
  23. I went back on the TIVO several times to watch the late hit. I was sure when the play happened that he launched himself towards the RB before the RB went out of bounds. After a couple of replays, frame by frame, the RB's right (IIRC) foot was planted on the ground when Donte had already begun his tackle. Contact was made between the two players while the RB's foot was still in bounds -- and well before any part of the body touched the white stripe. Even if it was late, I liked the spirit of the hit. I like Donte being anxious to hit people.
  24. Still need 8 more teams, anyone?
  25. look up a couple of posts, we posted at the same time, so you probably didn't see my response. Draft is Aug 22 League name is Two Bills Drive
