  1. Pretty much every country except for countries that were already affected by SARS reacted quickly enough in that context. Personally I don't think looking back changes anything now. History will be the judge in 6 months to a year.
  2. In Canada the provincial government is handling this crisis with guidance from the Federal government.
  3. Sorry but are we talking about people changing their habits or testing because clearly, I was talking about habit changing to stem the spread of the virus.
  4. Yes because we're not Japanese or Korean. We don't clean up after ourselves when going to a coffee shop, we don't wear masks and we are certainly not as fearful of germs. Comparing apples and oranges.
  5. People bringing up South Korea and Taiwan have obviously never visited Asia in their lifetimes. It's a completely different society.
  6. It was a bit over the top but you could recognize that and still be grateful that people are stepping up to the plate to help. Contrast that with Italy where people are basically stealing from grocery stores because the government isn't sending them the help they needed.
  7. Which is why I asked the question: With regards to seasonality, wouldn't warmer states such as Florida have a slower spread? I'm trying to reach across the aisle.
  8. I didn't say Florida is fine, I was asking what the statistics were in Florida based on Dr Fauci's assumption that this disease could potentially be seasonal.
  9. Stop being a troll for five minutes. You seem to occassionally not be an asshat. No, he's only been working with infectious diseases for the last 30+ years.
  10. And what does that have to do with what I said and the idiotic comment of Q-baby?
  11. Maybe inform yourself? Dr Fauci has been talking about seasonality being a likely scenario. https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2020/03/26/fauci_coronavirus_could_become_a_seasonal_thing.html
  12. With regards to seasonality, wouldn't warmer states such as Florida have a slower spread?
  13. Yes, good idea. We all have to sacrifice.
  14. Thank you for the informative posts.
  15. That’s what I said. Try not to be in either group. It’s not hard. There’s Still hope for you.
  16. Italy is in a huge crisis as well and given the data they are providing the world, it's the least some countries can do.
  17. That ship is for non-Covid.
  18. https://www.mediaite.com/news/what-are-you-people-doing-new-yorkers-earn-scorn-for-flocking-to-see-navy-hospital-ship/ Facepalm
  19. I agree. I'm assuming that most leaders including the Orange man in chief is prepping for the worst case scenario but that will be the new normal.
  20. We (in Quebec) are also testing at a higher per capita base than anyone in North America (according to the Premier). Whatever the stats show, we will be eventually told to go back to work with the strong anti germ measures that you see in places like Japan.
  21. How strict was it enforced in NJ at the beginning? I live in the downtown area and I immediately noticed that most people were staying home though gradually the restrictions increased.
  22. At the federal level, it wasn't taken seriously but at the provincial level, it was. Personally, I've been taking this seriously since the 1st week of March literally washing my hands everytime I came into contact with something or someone and avoiding people who were sick. That being said, the data is generally a two week lag so if this is the worst in Quebec, we'll be back to work by May 1st.
  23. Vancouver was hit earlier but Montreal/Toronto/Vancouver is not nearly as dense as New York. In Montreal, we have been growing in cases by approximately 300-500 a day and this is after social distancing. Thank you my friend.
