Seems like Quebec is a great place to run a scam.
Why work when you could just rob people?
Confederations cup qualification is only for teams who win their respective continent, world cup winners and the hosts of the next WC. Therefore Italy qualified since they won in 2006 the WC. They have not won the Euro in the last 20 years.
They were able to play a more free flowing style when they had Roberto Carlos and Cafu on the flanks. Not nearly as free flowing now that they're wingers are not in the same league as they once were.
It's terrible. This is why they play so defensively, because they know that opening up the attack at this point will get them drilled. And that's what they did and got wrecked for it.
Also relying on the old slow players of 2006 won't help.
I missed the first half because I had something to do for Father's day. When I was going to go home and watch the second half, it was already 3-0. This team will not compete come 2010.
Kobe Bryant actually owns a division 2 (Serie B) soccer team in Italy.
For sure if players straight out of high school were given scholarships to play soccer rather than football or basketball, you might have a better national team but that's not the culture/tradition.
It follows the mentality of the league. Milan, Roma, Inter and Juve have all focused on more attacking play.
Also doesn't help that there is not another Nesta/Cannavaro for miles.
My first car was a 1995 Plymouth Neon. I must have burnt the gasket 3 times. It ended up being smashed on this highway.

This Italy team will not be champion in 2010. A few moments of brilliance from some great players allowed Italy to come out with a win but this team will not win against the bigger countries. Not because they can't attack, but because they can't defend.
