  1. You have to admit the kids got rhythm.
  2. The buy was stupid. I had absolutely no reason to buy a stock of a company that i thought had no growth prospects (iPhone and competitors have a much stronger product). It was a screw up, but I didn't lose much.
  3. I don't disagree with your point. I made an emotional mistake last week. Bought RIM- TO at 71$ CAD, kept dropping to 68$ and sold. That's life.
  4. It's hard to get emotional when you're playing with other peoples money and your risk is next to none (besides your job) and your possible gain is 2/20.
  5. Unfortunately you could also get ripped off by a professional. Unfortunately there are bad apples and they ruin it for those that are honest hardworking people. I used to work for IA's (backoffice) and as there could be many good ones (i.e. TH and CJ), there are plenty of bad ones. Getting a dishonest mechanic will cost you a few K in extra unwanted repairs but getting a bad IA could !@#$ you for life.
  6. If I survive, I'll do it
  7. Can we switch? I've always wanted to fly a plane.
  8. http://etf.stock-encyclopedia.com/BRIL.html This is the best short term investment you can get. Though if you hold it for more than a day, you're !@#$ed.
  9. http://www.canadianbusiness.com/markets/st...426_10009_10009 I'm confused. Will Transformers 3 be a safe bet?
  10. Of course junk bonds scare the hell out of you. That's why they're junk bonds.

  13. Dibs avatar rights are over!
  14. He could buy short term commercial paper and receive half a percentage point lol Unless the CP market freezes again and instead he'll receive 7 year floating rate notes.
  15. And who's fault is that?
  16. Completely unrelated to the thread. Still good though.
  17. I think it carries everything, but the feeds don't always work.
  18. I'm sorry dude.
  19. Bonuses are great when they are not capped. For example, I used to get a percentage that was very negotiable. Now, working for a bank, it's actually a fixed dollar amount based on the level and signority. Besides the obvious reason of wanting to be recognized and promoted, the incentive is reduced.
  20. Right, but your job in the financial services industry is tied to your performance. For me that was OT and a nice bonus.
  21. Compared to where I worked. Used to be the better philosophy but we merged with a bank. Now bonuses cut in half, no more OT, but plenty of benefits I'll never use.
