  1. That being said, Holland will beat them.
  2. Italy will win in Brazil as they won in Germany and be tied for the best country in soccer ever. We just need a scandal right before.
  3. I'm not counting them out, I just think that Holland will win.
  4. Sorry dude. This ones going to Holland.
  5. Germany is suffering in defense. I'd maybe put an extra man back. No reason to play too open as the counterattack is more than enough to put Germany up.
  6. My bad. I heard the commentator say Villareal but he must have been talking about someone else.
  7. La Liga sucks. I'd rather watch EPL to see the crappy overrated english clubs [/italian bias]
  8. He plays for Villareal in Spain. A good team but not as much cash as Madrid or Barcelona.
  9. It's added in injury time ...
  10. It doesn't bother me unless it's flagrant. Everyone embellishes. If not, they wont' get the call. Keep in mind that they don't get to go to the bench so it's one of the reasons they do that.
  11. Ah enough bitching about the divers. What a goal by Van Brock horst. What a goal by Forlan!!! How long before Diego Forlan gets signed by Madrid?
  12. Don't count Uruguay out.
  13. When you talk to the Argentinians, ask them when was the last time they got to the semi's... They might shut up after that
  14. Milito sure intimidated Barcelona, Roma, Juventus, Milan and Bayern That's the thing I understand the least about Diego's moves. Milito was the game breaker for Inter this year. He scored 4 goals to clinch three titles. Everytime he touched the ball, it would end up in the back of the net, even on nights when Inter were stale. Sneijder as well was a gamebreaker for Inter and look how well he's doing for Holland. These guys had great years and had all the confidence in the world.
  15. Who are you referring to that is missing a guy like that? Argentina? If you're referring to Argentina, I think Tevez and Milito alone could fill the shoes Totti is passed his prime. He is often injured but 23 goals in 19 games is quite impressive.
  16. You mean in Roma or Fiorentina? Fiorentina just lost a great coach in Prandelli. Roma is undergoing new ownership so I don't know what the new team will be like but I think an in-shape Adriano will be great (provided he loses all that excess fat).
  17. He won 2 consecutive scudetto's for Napoli. Given that he was the reason they won their only titles says a lot about why they would love him. Since then, they've been mediocre. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S.S.C._Napoli My parents were born in Salerno which is an hour drive from Napoli but my team has always been AS Roma. I'm assuming that the north hates Maradona because he took two titles away from them
  18. One things for sure. They loved him in Napoli. But I don't hate him as a person. I just wanted to see him fail as I don't like Argentina. Hell, I don't like any other World Cup contender.
  19. Because I think that he was probably the worst coach you could put in charge of such a talented team and 1990 did hurt. What happened in 2006 was different. Coach kept Messi on the bench (although I don't think he was that much of an impact player that year) and did not risk as much. There's a difference between playing totally defensive (i.e. catenaccio) and playing fluid ball control football. Maradona put a team on the field that couldn't defend against anyone, let alone Germany. Did he really believe he would outscore his way to the World Cup? A good coaches focuses on the strengths and plugs the weaknesses. In this case, he didn't.
  20. Rematch of Euro 2008 final. That's the beauty of these tournaments. Sometimes you get revenge, other times you don't. Germany certainly got their revenge against England in 1966. Italy got their revenge from Germany for what happened in 1990.
  21. Yep. Only Brazil once won in Sweden in 58.
  22. You know there's something to be said about history. Look up the WC history on Wiki and you'll clearly see that there is a few countries that are always contenders. Germany has always been there and you could never count them out. Of course they never beat Italy in a WC game so that's something to be said as well. Now where's Hardy Pyle? Surely he must have a reasoning why Argentina showed up so flat today? And regarding team USA, their defense doomed them to fail. The attack was there though but you need a defense to win these knockout games.
  23. Maybe Maradona could coke up his players at halftime to get them to wake up.
  24. You know I really hate Brazil because of the rivalry but Juan is AS Roma's best defender and was instrumental in the scudetto run this year. I feel sorry for him as he played lights out. The biggest problem in Brazil was Juventus defender Felipe Melo who scored in his own net (though it was a Julio Cesar blunder) and that terrible straight red. To me Dunga is a class act and it's sad that he'll be forced to quit.
