As far as I can tell, no one is pushing for direct American or NATO involvement. One could argue that it will potentially lead to direct US involvement but as we have seen over the last month, Russia doesn't have the ability to take on any more fronts.

They won't elect Hamas because their elections have been delayed but there is no doubt Hamas is gaining ground in the WB. If anything, a lot of the riots that happened in Lod, Acre, etc had to do with Right Wing Israelis trying to gain ground and Hamas operatives stirring up tension.

The only two sources I found speaking specifically of this incident were Aljazeera and PressTV. Aljazeera has beef with Israel as it is controlled by Qatar and also recently got its press office blown up by the IDF. PressTV is Iranian state media. No mention nothing from Haaretz as well which is very to the left and very critical of the Israeli government and the occupation. For a start, using "Apartheid" is a non-starter. Nearly half Israeli's that are Jewish are actually non-white. Nearly 20% of Israeli's are non Jewish as well.
