  1. I agree with you about Justice....looking over this draft now...seems the Bills are in a better position then once thought....if they can land Justice, Huff, Davis, or Hawk, wow that would be great
  2. Mock Varying opinions that's for sure. Who knows which way Marv will go, this is what makes this Draft so compelling IMO.
  3. Wait, there is NO reason for optimism about this trade...don't you know Marv should be fired already?
  4. You are 100% correct. Of course if Clinton was President the levees would have been just fine. Or since it is in California and Hollywood blames our current President for all the troubles in the world, why not blame Hollywood?
  5. That is true...I guess in a way what I am trying to illustrate here is the REAL key is how the Bills use that extra cap space that will be saved...that is truly the key to this whole trade...you are right, more then likely...the 5th rounder will turn out to be a player who barely stays on the roster..
  6. Well I did some research and here are some notables that were selected in Round 5 of the NFL Drafts (I figured a 7-8 year sample would be sufficient to judge, and up to 2004 because those players have now had 2 years to develop who were drafted in 2004): 1998: 131. Buffalo - Jonathan Linton, RB North Carolina 150. Green Bay - Corey Bradford, WR Jackson State 173. Minnesota - Matt Birk, C Harvard 180. San Francisco - Fred Beasley, FB Auburn 187. Green Bay - Matt Hasselbeck, QB Boston College Link: 1998 Draft- Round 5 1999: 13 (146) Oakland Raiders - Eric Barton, LB Maryland 17 (150) New York Giants - Mike Rosenthal, T Notre Dame 23 (156) Buffalo Bills - Jay Foreman, LB Nebraska 5 (158) Denver Broncos - David Bowens, DE Western Illinois Link: 1999 Draft- Round 5 2000: (149) Green Bay Packers - Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila, LB San Diego State (153) Kansas City Chiefs - Dante Hall, RB Texas A&M (156) Buffalo Bills - Sammy Morris, RB Texas Tech (166) New Orleans Saints - Chad Morton, RB USC Link: 2000 NFL Draft- Round 5 2001: 144. Buffalo Bills Marques Sullivan - OT Illinois 150. Kansas City Chiefs (from St. Louis) Derrick Blaylock - RB Stephen F. Austin 155. Philadelphia Eagles A.J. Feeley - QB Oregon Link: 2001 NFL Draft- Round 5 2002: 4(139) Buffalo Justin Bannan DT Colorado 11(146) Seattle Rocky Bernard DE Texas A&M 25(160) Washington Robert Royal TE Louisiana State **** 29(164) Green Bay Craig Nall QB Northwestern state (La) 31(166) Pittsburgh Verron Haynes RB Georgia *** Special one for JSP! Link: 2002 NFL Draft- Round 5 2003: 138 Indianapolis Robert Mathis DE Alabama A&M Link: 2003 NFL Draft Round 5 2004: 2004 NFL Draft- Round 5 Now I only skimmed over the results....so if there are other solid choices there plese share them for its very possible I missed a few.... Folks here is the bottom line: Most likely, the 5th round pick from Houston, at best, will turn out to be a slightly above average player or a solid backup. But here is the REAL part of the Moulds deal that SO many of you who hate this forget to mention: Give me a decent young player in the 5th who might be like, lets say a Robert Mathis PLUS a player in 2007 via FA that can help this team, and Ill take that ANY day of the week over a 32 year old WR who is now bitching like other WR's in this league nowadays. See ya EM. Feel free to give comments, just providing these links for reference.
  7. Can Moulds play defense and block for Carr, who spends more time on his back then a cheap prostitute?
  8. While unoriginal, the comment rings true
  9. I doubt that will happen. As for me, EM, thanks for the memories, now I add my EM jersey with all the other former players jerseys I own (TH, Drew, Paup) and wish him the best. But the focus is all on the Bills now, see ya EM, don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya!
  10. Could not agree more.... I'm glad this is over finally so we as fans can move on and think about the future... I look at it this way plain and simple: If the Bills can get a solid player with the 5th pick, for example, a solid receiver/OL/TE or whatever, someone who WANTS to be here and turns out to contribute, even if that guy isn't a superstar, couple that with the cap savings AND Marv uses these savings to get the Bills another good player, then it is ALL worth it and bye bye EM!!!
  11. True, but boy it does not seem that EM's new deal with Houston is a cap killer....and the Eagles have plenty of room under the cap.
  12. Well I'm just hopeful this was the best option available to the Bills...Ill tell you what, if I'm an Eagles fan I am PISSED...they could not pony up a 4th for a WR upgrade they SO desperately need? Wow!!!! Well at LEAST this 5th is the top 5th rounder...almost like getting a lower end 4th....
  13. So still no official word yet on compenstation?
