  1. No matter what you do, just be careful and most of all I relly hope you enjoy the game
  2. This is what makes RJ so likeable...he is also very humble...and does not think of himself bigger then the games themselves...unlike ESPN "celebrities"
  3. You know what is amazing about RJ? I bet if you polled 1000 Sabres fans, and varied it with fans that have been around since 1970 and even younger fans, and asked them "Who is the most famous Sabres Player/Personality in the franchise's history?" I bet RJ could WIN that poll...how many teams can say the most popular figure in the teams history might be the broadcaster? And it is not as if the Sabres are void of great players like Gilbert Perrault, Rick Martin, Andreychuk, Hasek, LaFontaine and so on.
  4. I will never forget some of the comments I heard on WIP 610 years ago (Lindros era when the Flyers were contenders) In October, the 3 guys on the station were having a SERIOUS discussion about the Flyers going undefeated for the ENTIRE season...they were actually analyzing the schedule..."well at Colorado, that should at least be a tie" etc etc....I almost swirved off the road Then the next segment was one of the guys INSISTING that ties shoudl be elimnated because at least 50 percent of ALL hockey games end in a tie....and he was so trying to make his case..."Look at last year, Winnipeg had 19 ties..(this is how long ago this was)..."boston has 15 ties, and so on"...did this tool realize that if 50 percent of ALL the NHL games ended in ties, that ALL the teams would have to AVERAGE 40-42 ties a year?? When is the last time you ever saw even 1 team with 42 ties??? Comical. Just comical.
  5. I'm glad you did that, even if it is frustration, people need to held more accountable for their comments, even if they are hiding behind a screenname on an internet messsage board.
  6. I could not agree more....they have NO backbone at that crap site....grow a set of em Philly Mulletts!!
  7. When I listened this morning there was not much...just Bernie Parent in the studio talking about Esche's confidence etc....
  8. Just make sure you have a bullet proof vest when you do this I was offered a ticket to Game 3 last week. I turned it down and the guy here at work sold it to another Flyers fan. I would much rather watch this game at home or a ta bar then deal with some of those scumbag fans.
  9. Could not agree more SC.....I hear some other fans say they hate RJ, that he can be annoying etc when calling a game....and sometimes I can understand that to a point, only because they are rooting against the Sabres...but the thing people have to realize about RJ is that he is truly unique, has his own style, has a genuine passion for the game, and is extremely creative. Also IMO no announcer calls fights better then RJ. He REALLY gets you into what is going on and describes it so well and with so much passion. RJ can take an ordinary Sabres/Wild game in December and make the game sound just a bit more interesting then the other regular season games. That is a unique talent. RJ is a true legend, and when he is gone, boy will that be a HUGE void not only for the Sabres fans, but for the NHL as a whole.
  10. JSP, must be great living in the Philly area at this very moment...I'm here in Princeton and confronted two Flyers fans this morning, they might as well have been waving a white flag....love it!
  11. Now we know where part of Philly's fans problems come from. Absolutely disgusting... And yes, I was blown away by the hit, but initial reaction was "I hope Umberger is ok, you don't want to see serious injuries like that" Philly fans boo Santa Claus and yet they call Buffalo fans classless? Please!
  12. I felt like calling 610 WIP this morning listening on my way to work (Al is on there, and I forget the host's name, some tool) and all they were talking about was "I want a Buffalo player injured tonight" Yep. Real class by a radio show HOST. WIP < RJ If the Sabres win tonight, I plan on calling that station tomorrow.
  13. What a bunch of wussies they are, that is sad, VERY sad
  14. Anything is possible in drafts. Problem is there are SO many mock drafts, how can any of them be taken seriously???
  15. Sure was not that way when I went to Game 7, 1997 Eastern Conference Quarterfinals, Sabres/Sens, at the end of regulation I downed 3 beers at intermission...I bought 2, my Dad bought 2 and I took his spare!!
  16. Funny thing is, the guy on the left reminds me a bit of Andrw Peters...and the guy on the right does look a bit like Briere!
  17. Clayton said this? Now I expect the Bills to take a QB and hire Jim Fassell
  18. How about this one: "Our Campbell Is better then McNabb's Campbell" I know..I'm reaching here
