I agree... Why is that NBA players after making big shots now do not smile that much...they almost seem as a matter of fact.....show some emotion...and this is why the NBA is failing to connect with the fans that MADE the NBA great in the 1st place....a lot of fans cannot understand the lack of shown emotion.

Amen to that Darin.... Why would we hockey want the sport to be ruined by these E$PN 'personalities' etc?? So what if the Preakness gets better ratings, does that make it a better event? No...it just means more people BET on that sport then the NHL. It's all about gambling...raise of hands for those who actually watch horse racing JUST for the race without any stake in it? Just because the NBA is crushing the NHL in ratings does not mean it is a better game at all. It just means that more people watch the NBA...primarily because: E$PN and other major sports personalities cater to the game, and I believe more so because of the trash talking, soap-opera like stories that surface in the NBA..not for the 37% shooting performances, the 78-61 games, and the half court, slow down, bore me style of the new NBA (though not all the time, but you get my drift, some teams like the Suns are bearable to watch) If the NHL had more guys lighting up joints....having 15+ tattoos on average for each player....guaranteeing victories and saying stupid things...having 7+ kids on average for every player....releasing rap albums....start a riot in the crowd as a result of a Plastic Cup ..maybe...just maybe...E$PN will look at the NHL in a new light. And whomever does NOT think this is a big reason why the NHL struggles over the other major sports, couple that with sports like the NFL are bet on SO much more, you are fooling yourself. Why was NBC in SUCH a rush to get that horse race on? Because of the 'pageantry' and 'elegance' of the Preakness?? PLEASE!! Breakfast at the Preakness?? They might as well show a real to life show of Breakfast at the Preakness to show who is REALLY watching this coverage...some 4 day unshaven guy standing at the OTB reading a Daily Racing Forum enjoying a glazed doughnut and a Dunkin Donuts coffee salivating over the thought of one of his 5 exacta and trifecta boxes are going to hit.

I have tried so many rituals over the years (sitting in the same spot for a game, wearing a particular jersey, wearing the same Sabres hat, etc).....and they have not worked...so I tried something new this year: Not wearing ANY Sabres jerseys, shirts, hats....just regular everyday clothes...and so far...it is working like a charm!!! Love the Old School Sabres jerseys tater!!

If this happens in the NFL it is a great thing and shows how unpredictable the league is and how almost anyone can win??? It is celebrated in the NFL but looked down upon in the NHL... I have a theory on why that is: Most of these sports 'personalities' on the radio and TV just want to find ANY way NOT to talk about the NHL, because the NHL is not controversial enough for these bafoons....the other sports provide comments by 'model citizens' like Rasheed Wallace so these idiots on the radio can spend time talking about that to 'earn' their paycheck...heaven forbid any of these guys try to talk NHL as a SPORT...nah, brining up bad TV ratings and small markets being there is bad is enough for these 'experts' to handle in one day. I've said my peace.

From a value standpoint, Edmonton is a good bet now.
