  1. There will be nothing official on Cousins till UFA
  2. Great stuff here and I enjoyed the read and shows very interesting results. I am not sure if there is something out there available to show this: I always feel how a QB performs under duress would be a good indicator for success too. And throws made into tight coverage. Some college QB's look great because the defenses they play are swiss cheese and there are open receivers all over the field. This is why Im always skeptical of Louisville and Oklahoma QB's.
  3. Smith I would select, but is Smith really that much of an upgrade over keeping Tyrod and NOT giving up and a 2nd and 4th round pick?
  4. I like Kirk Cousins as a QB, but the issue is the $ and he is 29: The Bills still need some work to be a MAJOR contender and by that time he would be 32-33 and the decline might begin. Not against this ideally totally though. My crazy thought on where Cousins, if I were him, should consider: The Minnesota Vikings clear out their QB stable (lets Keenum and Bradford walk, and keep Teddy or deal him) and bring in Cousins on a roster fit to win right now in 2018.
  5. Football's decline is inevitable. The youth today just do not talk about sports as much as generations before them. You will see the change in every sport over time. The information age will be looked at as the best....and worst...thing to happen to the NFL. No longer are people subjected to certain type of entertainment. Kids today have a vast amount more available to them to grasp onto.
  6. Hope this is a blessing in disguise for Eric. He endured a lot of injuries. Wish him the best and thank him for his time with the Bills. Eric will always be a big part of the Buffalo Bills family.
  7. This thread ranks up there with the TSOPRANO classic 'sources deep within' threads in regards to complete ridiculousness
  8. Happy Birthday TSW! Been a member of this board under 2 names since 2004. SDS thanks for all you do for us here, was a long time ago but was a pleasure to meet you at the 2005 tailgate.
  9. If the Bills trade up to 4 and take a RB: 1. This board will crash 2. Fans will announce retirement here on TBD how they are done, selling season tickets etc.
  10. Do not have Denver take a QB in the 1st round in the 2018 NFL Draft. Elway already addressed the franchise QB for Denver. Chad Kelly Remember? The chosen one is there already
  11. I appreciate threads like this and putting in the time. Good stuff no matter whether you agree or disagree. One thing that stood out to me is he always seems to make a quick read and has a clean pocket. What about under duress, when the pocket collapses?
  12. Agree and this is why I can't trash guys like Josh Allen. Maybe he learns a different offense in the pros and improves. Same with Lamar Jackson.
  13. Just remember one thing about accuracy and how it translates from college to the NFL, it does not always show an indication on how accurate a QB will be in the NFL 1. EJ Manuel had a 66.9% completion percentage at Florida State for his career. Way Off. 2. Aaron Rodgers had a 63.8% completion percentage at Cal in his two seasons in the Pac-12, Aaron exceeded this. 3. Tim Tebow had a 66.4% completion percentage in his Florida career. Way off. 4. Peyton Manning had a 62.5% completion percentage in his 4 years at Tennessee, Peyton exceeded this in the Pros. 5. Big Ben had a 65.5% completion percentage at Miami (OH), that was a good indicator. 6. Matthew Stafford was a 57.1% passer for Georgia in his career. Stafford completed 65.7% this year for the Lions. Way off. 7. Matt Ryan was a 59.9% passer for his career at Boston College. In the Altanta offense, Ryan has drastically improved that number. Way off. College completion percentage is not an exact science. It is a skill that can be improved on, based on the system, coaching, and talent around that QB. And it can fool NFL scouts and coaches like we did with EJ and not indicate fully what that player can do in the pros.
  14. I have not studied Lamar Jackson a LOT, have watched a few games and he is a very exciting college QB. Having said this, my 2 reasons why I would rather pass: 1. Accuracy: You have to be accurate in today's NFL, and I do not see that from Lamar. 2. Louisville QB's: Always leery of QB's from a Bobby Petrino offense.
  15. Just keep this in mind when you all think you know how a player feels about the team he plays for and the fanbase. Majority of it is a facade. They are as loving as loyal as their paycheck and where they play. Once they leave, bam, true feelings revealed.
  16. Tim just gave into the Jags trolls. Not a good look for the Bills and Buffalo fans at all. Ignore them.
  17. Can we allow ourselves to see what Daboll can do before analyzing and jumping to conclusions? If Daboll is truly a good OC, he will adapt his style and playbook to fit the kind of QB and skillset he has around him. If the Bills have Tyrod at QB then yes, I would expect an offensive similar to what we have had. If the Bills draft a gunslinger QB, at some point I would expect the playbook to open up. Daboll was blah as a OC before at times sure in the NFL, but he worked under Saban and Belichek. Has been around winning for quite some time. Initially, this works for me.
  18. If a Bills fan has a dilemma about this option, it might be time to analyze one's fanhood.
  19. Douglas Marrone left the Bills on bad terms: He had his reasons that we will probably never fully understand. He is a very good NFL Head Coach. No bitterness here. Maybe watching how Jacksonville has advanced to the AFC Championship should also give us a pause about Tyrod Taylor: Blake Bortles got the Jags there, and if the Bills can get Tyrod back to the 2015 Tyrod (25 total TD's 6 INT) level, and make the defense elite, who says Buffalo can't replicate this success?
  20. Tyrod came here to win a job and he did. For 3 years, he had some good moments, some poor games. Overall, when you compare him to the dumpster fires before he got here, Tyrod did pretty well. Lowest INT percentage in NFL history. Brought some stability to the QB position, solid leader. Players like him. Makes plays with his feet. Tyrod is a borderline C+ quarterback in the NFL, a little more to the C side. Yes, he misses throws, but he also does not make the throws that can lead to INT's. I'd rather have a 16 TD 4 INT QB then a 22 TD and 13 QB. Tyrod's true undoing IMO was his inability to lead game tying or Game winning drives late in games especially on the road when you need a QB to make those plays. Tyrod only had 1 game like this (At Tennessee) to my memory. This is simply not good enough to get to the next level. Having said all of this: The Bills are not designed for optimal success with a QB like Tyrod. The defense isn't dominant. The WR group is inconsistent. The OL has some flaws. Is Tyrod to blame at times? Of course. And when you look at the Bills cap and draft board going forward in 2018, it is clear the Bills are moving on from Tyrod. Beane wants a B or better QB. We all do. I wish Tyrod well. A true professional, and enjoyed watching him play for the Buffalo Bills.
  21. Alex Smith? Even Akili Smith would have lead us to victory yesterday
  22. Is this your "Hot Take" If so, it has already burned to the ground.
