Allen's leadership skills are off the charts. At the combine, I noticed Allen was the leader of the quarterback pack. His personable manner was easy to see as others rallied around him. He reminded me of Jameis Winston, commanding attention with his persona and getting the rest of the QBs and receivers going. Buffalo has NEVER drafted a QB in the Top 10. EVER. Granted it is no guarantee for success, but I truly believe this is one of the reasons the Bills only have had 1 sustained run of excellence over the last 50 years. The value of a Top 10 QB trickles down. Makes other moves easier and more effective. This has been neglected for far too long. It IS that important.

Given the Buffalo Bills trades starting last year and up to now, it is obvious what the Bills are trying to do. Odds are very high, as we all know, that Buffalo is going to try to trade up. One thing that we are seeing this year versus past years is now those who are conducting Mock Drafts are including trades. I absolutely welcome this trend. The idea of just performing a Mock Draft with no trades is so 2017. And I think it clear to say Buffalo's actions have dictated a change in this direction, and it is one for the better. I think most can come to the conclusion that Doug Whaley was a puppet for that draft and that Beane and Co, based on how they drafted and moved ahead of Carolina to draft Dawkins, pulled all the strings for that draft. I would do the same trade again. What I think really threw off this process was the 9-7 record: Regardless of what Beane and McDermott said, I truly don't think they believed 2017 was going to net more then 5 wins. If the Bills did win 5 or so, the trade up would be much easier and probably already complete.

I know a lot here point out busts and I get that totally: But regardless of that, what the Bills #1 goal is in 2 weeks is to draft a guy who COULD be a franchise QB. The trying part is something that has eluded the Bills for decades. If they miss, so be it. It is all about the attempt.
