  1. Arbitrator: Williams owes Dolphins $8.6M Arbitrator Richard Bloch rules RB Ricky Williams owes the Dolphins $8.6 million in the wake of his retirement just before the start of camp, an NFL spokesman says.
  2. Excellent post and the players DO need to realize the $ just isnt there, but remmeber athletes today have NEVEr heard "you will all have your salaries cut across the board"....they are $poiled.
  3. Hope everything goes ok for you down there with Jeanne.. Id try PCP, it will allow you to envision Drew not getting sacked once, throwing for 350 yds and 4 TD's in a road game against a great defense, works like a charm!!!
  4. Man do we think alike, I had a previous post with many of the same suggestions, I like your idea of the shortening of TV stoppages, the flow of the game is hurt with such long delays...and the goalies too have a big advantage, that also may be because of the size of the d-men nowadays too, but reducing the goalie gear will help the offense.
  5. Thats true too...but Ill say this, I think the Sabres are heading in the right direction, once they can settle their goaltending issues and decide its time to play hockey BEFORE halfway through the season, Sabres have a good young core of skaters. Unfortunately, they may not be young anymore by the time this me$$ is resolved
  6. Imagine if this rule was in effect in 1998 for the "just give it to em" game, shoot the Bills may have hauled in a 1st rounder as compensation for that major $crewjob!!!
  7. Absolutely....didnt the Sabres have like a 9 year stretch where they sold out every game in the 70's??? The fans are there.
  8. Everyone points to places like Florida, Tampa Bay, and Carolina as being places where hockey made no sense, and to a point I agree, but the biggest issue with Carolina and Florida is their inability to SUSTAIN their success, this is where Tampa porbably wont have that problem, they have the kind of team that can excel for the next 4-5 years. Look at the Dallas Stars, I wonder how their attendence would be if the Stars didnt maintain a high level of play, is Dallas any more of a hockeytown then Carolina or Florida? Even having said that, this league has expanded a little too far, but the NHL can do things to improve the game even with th extra teams: 1. Shorten the schedule by 6-10 games: Teams play too often now, the Washington Caps played 4 games in 5 nights at one point this season, thats nuts. With the condensed schedules, I beleive that why some nights teams just look flat, shorten the season a tad. 2. Get rid of the stupid instigator rule and bring back the tag-up rule. 3. Make the rinks wider. Players are HUGE now, the rinks are too small, will allow the great skaters to show their skills, thus creating a more exciting brand of hockey 4. Bring back old division names and create 2 more: Bettman was an IDIOT with this change, I love the old division names, why not add a Gretzky and Orr division or something along those lines? Thats one cosmetic feature that made the NHL unique and Bettman standarized it. 5. And the NHL needs a cap, especially for the fans (maybe it will keep ticket prices lower) and help my beloved Sabres Ive said my peace, im sure there are more things that can change, those are just 5 Id love to see.
  9. Hasek is an example too correct? Oh thats right, he is just a jerk to Sabres fans, he did NOTHING for them I forgot
  10. Ill say this about your Braves too, 13 straight division titles, no matter how you slice it, thats amazing
  11. And it was all about the money last year with the Marlins now wasnt it??? Get off this $ whining kick already Yankee haters, its old.
  12. Ki-Jana Carter may get some carries for the Saints too
  13. "Im driving around in Jon Voight's car" (George singing)
  14. And one for the Titans too: passes inches forward are considered laterals
  15. A stat about the NL that shocked me: The San Francisco Giants lead the league in runs (801 to 799) and not the Cardinals....I figured the Cards had that locked up byt a decent margin... Makes you think that Bonds is still probably the MVP
  16. Thats true, I was considering that but i figured 2 things: The problem with management would win in a landslide I figured well keep it to on the field issues
  17. That was 85 I believe...and the Cards got screwed in that series... 82 they beat the Brewers, with Cecil Cooper, Ben Oglivie, etc.
  18. And St Louis dosent beat up on the Reds and Pirates?? Division Champs shirts to rub it in to Yankees fans in the other league? I love how you call out the Yankees fans, I absolutely love it..Yankees have a division title shirt every year since 1996, and Braves fans will have 13 different division title shirts to show off too....all in a row..so whats the point?
  19. After watching the game on Sunday, I became so down on Bledsoe and starting blaming him for just about everything. But after reading though many posts on this site over the past few days, it has become loud and clear to me: Yes Drew IS to blame for a good portion of the offenses demise, but in NO way shape or form is it ALL Drew's fault. I still would like to see another QB under center with this team just so we know with a little more certainty where the biggest issue is with the offense. So after thinking about it, maybe we can rank where we all think the biggest problems are with the offense besides Drew, here are the things I came up with: 1. Lack of a TE with catching ability 2. Offensive Line, in particular pass protection 3. Running Backs do not pick up the blitz 4. Coaching (Offensive schemes, etc.) 5. Unsuccessfully replacing Peerless Price 5. Running Backs not having good catching ability Everyone refers to 2002, especially the 1st half of the year, and look at the reason for the drop-off in 03 being solely because of Peerless Price, but I believe losing Larry Centers and Jay Reismersa hurt just as much if not more. With Reismersa, at least opposing defenses had to respect the Bills TE's receiving abilities, perhaps opening things up for the WR’s and the RB’s. With this new group, what defense will care that much about the Bills TE's??? And remember, Drew enjoyed his most success with a TE like Ben Coates. Centers was also a nice safety net for Drew, and is receiving ability out of the backfield has not been replaced. To make a long story short, I don’t believe Drew will hit the 2002 first half totals can happen again, that was in part to his rejuvenation, and the fact they played against some horrid defenses during that 8 game stretch. But it CAN be better then 2003 and now. So Im gonna lay off of Drew and statue comments for awhile. So how would you rank the offenses biggest problems besides Drew Bledsoe himself? Feel free to add more rankings or change my wording...
  20. Excellent post and I totally agree...but id bet almost anything Oprah didnt pay for those cars, Pontiac got the advertising and great PR from this, shelving out 28 grand to each person wouldnt be sponsored
  21. I love the optimism and I hope you are right...but right now the Bills have won 4 of their last 16 games, OTHER teams are looking at their schedules and saying "Buffalo, very winnable, or even easy W" Its a bitter pill to swallow, but right now Buffalo is a very below average football team.
