  1. Since we are at the mid-point in the 2004 NFL Season and we have all had a chance to see the NFL teams play a half of season, based on what you have all seen, what is your Super Bowl prediciton? My original prediction was Kansas City vs Philly, but KC couldnt defend a lampost, so forget the Chefs. My SB prediction is New England vs Philadelphia. Yours?
  2. Its so ironic how he kicked off their 'embarassing' season by quitting on his team in the 1st place. Im glad he never won a Super Bowl.
  3. And no team has ever come back from 3-0 down in a baseball playoff series, oh yeah, that was done recently.....$o much for $tat$
  4. Willis Scouting Report Scouting report: Bills RB Willis McGahee The War Room / TSN Posted: 20 hours ago Strengths: Has good size (6-0, 228) and running skills and is quickly developing into an explosive back. Has ideal speed and power and excellent burst to the hole. Has vision and patience, finds cutback lanes and shows great stop-and-start ability. Has an explosive second gear once he breaks through the line and is a threat to score every time he reaches the second level. Has great ability to turn the corner. Is a decisive outside runner who picks his crease and has terrific acceleration in the open field. Is developing his potential as a receiver and uses his natural athleticism and explosiveness well in space. Weaknesses: Tends to run a bit too high and takes a lot of shots to the body. Must learn to run with better leverage and body lean. Blocking skills need to improve. Can slide over to pick up the blitz but has marginal technique as a blocker and needs to be more aggressive. Needs to improve his route-running skills, which should come with experience. Has decent hands but has had trouble catching passes away from his body. Bottom line: McGahee was selected in the first round of the 2003 draft but sat out his rookie season while recovering from a major knee injury. He has bounced back well, but durability remains a concern because his running style makes him susceptible to taking a pounding. Im not sure if this is an old scouting report re-released, but the durability issue had me concerned. I am just as excited about Willis as the next Bills fan, but the Bills cannot afford to have Willis take this kind of pounding every week. The coaching staff needs to find a way to get Willis 25 carries or so and get TH involved for 6-10 carries as well. I dont want to see Willis become another Eddie George and wear down quickly, he can be great for a long long time. Any thoughts?
  5. You think Willis is hyped playing in Buffalo? Could you imagine if Willis was doing this for Dallas or another high profile team at this point? Willis was a HIGH profile player in college, hence, the hype.
  6. Maurice Clarett Ending six months of silence, former Ohio State running back Maurice Clarett has told ESPN The Magazine in this week's edition that he "took the fall" for the school during a 2003 NCAA investigation and that he's talking now because he wants to "clear his name" with National Football League owners and general managers. Clarett says that while he was at Ohio State in 2002 and 2003 head coach Jim Tressel, as well as certain members of his staff and boosters, provided him with improper benefits. He says he covered up Tressel's improprieties during the NCAA investigation and afterward, Ohio State "blackballed'' him from the football program. According to Clarett, Tressel arranged loaner cars for him and Tressel's brother, Dick, found him lucrative landscaping jobs that he did not even have to show up for. He says members of Tressel's staff also introduced him to boosters who'd slip him thousands of dollars, and the better he played, the more cash he'd receive. He says boosters eventually began inviting him into their homes or would meet him out in the community. "When you'd leave, [the booster] sets you straight," Clarett told The Magazine. "They say, 'You got any money in your pocket?' They make sure your money's straight." Clarett also says he likely would have been ineligible for Ohio State's national title season of 2002 if the football staff had not "aligned'' him with an academic advisor whose goal was simply to keep him eligible. He says the academic advisor enrolled him in Independent Study courses and also put him with hand-picked teachers who would pass him whether he attended their classes or not. He says his advisor also introduced him to a tutor who prepared outlines and told him what to write for assignments. Another former Ohio State player, linebacker Marco Cooper (2000-01; Spring 2002), corroborated many of Clarett's comments. Cooper, who was suspended from the team following two arrests for drug possession, says he also had bogus landscaping jobs, that a booster helped furnish his apartment, and that he was able to borrow cars from local Columbus dealerships in exchange for signed OSU memorabilia. In a story separate from the Clarett issue, another former Ohio State player, current Maryland running back Sammy Maldonado, says he was placed in so many courses that did not put him on the road to graduation that only 17 of a possible 40 credits earned would transfer to his new school. Ohio State officials have declined to comment on many of the allegations. School President Karen Holbrook, Jim Tressel and Dick Tressel refused to respond through spokespersons, while Athletic Director Andy Geiger said he would not answer questions until after the magazine story appeared, if then.
  7. Agreed. In a weird way I almost want to see the NHL lose this season, maybe another. This may get rid of the idiots like Good-for-nothing-eaw and Bettman, and maybe, just maybe, the NHL will finally get fiscially smart, lower ticket prices across the board, change the rules for the good of the game, and become the great sport that it can be, and fan-friendly.
  8. Of course NOBODY cares about the NHL....just let E$PN and other sports show bafoons here in the states brainwash everyone into drifting away from hockey because they dont want to talk about it. Why? Because hockey players dont get into wars over "my dance is better then yours" dramas that E$PN seems to crave. Maybe Dominik Hasek should start a T.O like dance or something after each win, maybe that will get E$PN's attention.
  9. I am not entertaining any playoff hopes unless we win this Sunday. We must have this game this Sunday because if the Bills want ANY playoff hopes, they need to win all of their AFC games remaining, highly unlikely, especially at New England on a Sunday Night, dosent get any harder then that.
  10. I dont mind if the Bills tried a trick play or two, as long as the Travis Henry HB pass play is totally out of the equation!!!
  11. Burned the blitz? Partly, but McGee fell down too
  12. Refs? Sole Reason!?!? Maybe the Raiders game can be argued....but thats a big exaggeration to say sole reason is the refs...if we had just made a play or 2 here and there, not asking much, we can be 5-3, but we are not.
  13. True, but there were 3 calls in that game that the NFL Refs apologized for that cost the Bills about 12 points, maybe more.
  14. Have you looked at the injuries of the Carolina Panthers???? If the Bills had the same injuries...Buffalo would be 1-7
  15. But I wonder how they would be doing if they had a QB like Big Ben to work with instead of an alledged QB in Kordell Stewart and Tommy Maddox, a retread fringe NFL starter at best
  16. Greg "Butthead" Buttle (or however you spell that loser's last name) on the 1050 ESPN Jets pre game and post game is a complete numskull and a true homer. He predicted the Jets to win 23-0 and made it seem like the Bills were SO inferior to the Jets, who by looking at their schedule I wouldnt be suprised if Temple showed up on it. He is a disgrase to the sportscasting profession and a 100 percent, Grade A punkass piece of fuggin stevestojan!!!
  17. And this suprises you?? Jets fans are SO OBSESSED with Paul Hackett's play calling being too "conservative" its laughable...maybe its because your QB's arm sucks, ever think of that?!!??!! Figures callers in the NYC area wouldnt like anything "conservative"
  18. I agree R.Rich. Just because Utah isnt rich in football tradition dosent mean they should be taken lightly. This is one hell of a football team, and id love to see them get into the BCS, itd be nice to see a new team in the mix.
