  1. Miami is definately a mess, but some coaches look at bad situations and find them appealing. Look at Bill Parcells. Every situation he walked into, the teams were in terrible shape and he really could go nowhere but up. Some coaches love that challenge.
  2. cbssportsline Just more comments made to get more fired up for Sunday!!! I'll take the long shot and go with Buffalo. The Bills are hot, hot, hot, and nobody wants to play them now. They have won six of their past seven, scored 30 or more points in four consecutive games and walloped their past four opponents by an average of 22 points each. The problem here is Cincinnati. The Bills must play the Bengals in Cincinnati this week. If they win, I'm driving the bandwagon. Buffalo will beat San Francisco on Dec. 26, then it returns home to play Pittsburgh on Jan. 2. Yes, Pittsburgh is tough. Yes, the Steelers could be playing for home-field advantage. But Buffalo ... in Buffalo ... in January. ... Anything's possible, particularly if the Bills have a shot at the playoffs.
  3. Damn that Bills strength of victory is the 2nd lowest in the AFC, .363
  4. I did watch it live, and Ill say this: He better not build a new home in Philly if he is just staying there because of his career.
  5. I do remember hearing that we would beat out the Jets because Common Games is a tie breaker before conference record and we would win that, but what about Denver?
  6. Im curious if the following happens: Bills win out: 10-6 Jets lose to Seattle or St Louis and lose to NE: 10-6 Denver wins 2 of 3: 10-6 Baltimore and Jacksonville 9-7 What would happen???
  7. He must have dusted off the Ickey Woods jersey
  8. Nothing in my mind can touch NCAA Football 2005.. Great game!!!!!
  9. Nodnarb, one of the better posts Ive seen in awhile. Just remember this when it comes to media everyone, imo for the most part they are vicious. They ROOT for bad things to happen. A friend of mine worked for MSNBC when Princess Diana was killed. You know what the reaction was by a lot of workers there? JUBILATION! Some where high fiving each other, boasting about how they now have something to cover for the next few days. That is sick stevestojan and if a newsroom exploded, I wouldnt $hed a tear. To me it would be poetic justice. Sorry to rant, I HATE the media, R. Rich, I know I shouldnt hate, but I have to make an exception for the news media in this country.
  10. Mets have money? Dont tell some of the Mets fans who call WFAN, they think their team is a small market, they call their owner Fred Coupon. Yep, small market teams sign Pedro Martinez. Plea$e.
  11. Because they probably think this league should still be like the other majors, when they really have to realize what makes leagues like the NFL so manageable with caps and money is television and direct tv and thats it. TV makes the sports world go round, Case closed. NHL does not generate the revenue from TV. thus a cap is needed.
  12. Your last statement is a good one, and maybe that is part of the reason the Red Sox let him walk. Maybe they figured his fragile frame and the fact he has now won his WS, maybe his motivation wouldnt be the same. If I were a Red Sox fan, I would look at this as a "wait and see" and see how the team looks after all the signings, trades, etc.
  13. I am suprised he left Boston if all the reports are true
  14. I think the 92 Chargers did. They went 11-5 after starting 0-4 and got beat down by Miami in Miami in a monsoon before we went there for the 92 title game and dismantled Miami
  15. Cold Winter 12/13/2004 The outlook for this National Hockey League season has never been more bleak than it is today. TSN has obtained a copy of a confidential eight-page memorandum sent by the NHL to all 30 member clubs, outlining the league's reaction to the NHL Players' Association proposal of last week and clearly stating the NHL's intention to reject the proposal and counter with one of its own. "In sum, we believe the Union's December 9 CBA proposal, while offering necessary and significant short-term financial relief, falls well short of providing the fundamental systemic changes that are required to ensure that overall League economics remain in synch on a going-forward basis," NHL executive vice president Bill Daly wrote in the Dec. 12 memo which went to all governors and alternative governors, including many NHL general managers. "While the immediate 'rollback' of 24 per cent offered by the Union would materially improve League economics for the 2004-05 season, there is virtually nothing in the Union's proposal that would prevent the dollars 'saved' from being re-directed right back into the player compensation system, such that the League's overall financial losses would approach current levels in only a matter of a couple of years." The memo reiterated NHL commissioner Gary Bettman's intention to provide a counter-proposal to the NHLPA at a 1 p.m. meeting on Tuesday in Toronto. The memo said the counter proposal "will be an appropriate response to the Union's offer and will ensure the League's future stability and long-term health."
  16. If that were a factor for me....Where do I sign?!!?!?
  17. I know a lot of Mets fans are gonna say this is a bad move but if this is done I think its just the opposite: Pedro is going back to the NL which should lenghten his starts a bit, facing a pitcher, in a pitchers park. And he is a face for the organization. People will pay to watch him pitch on a weeknight in May.
  18. I couldnt agree more. If you pop on WFAN, Vito from West Islip and Joe from Yonkers will call OVER AND OVER complaining like this is ALL Paul Hackett's fault. Please. Maybe if Chad Pennington had a stronger arm, their offensive philosophy would be different.
