  1. Anyone ever wonder if Jim Cantore gets some action from any of them after shooting another episode of "Storm Stories"
  2. I agree, and upgrading Posey is a very overlooked need for this team IMO.
  3. Even so, if he gave up the ball graciously, he would be in "Red Sox Lore" forever. Im suprised that dosent mean anything to him.
  4. If this guy was a Yankee, and this happened..he would be commeneded for keeping the ball...especially by E$PN.
  5. Against Cowboys#1...Kelly was injured in a 28-3 loss at Houston I believe....then Reich played the WC game (41-38 W) and then at Pitt (24-3 win, Mitch Frerotte TD catch OH YEAH!!)...then Kelly played in the 92 AFC Title game and the Bilsl beat the Fi$h 29-10
  6. Of course!! They are clean, and they NEVER EVER take steriods!!
  7. I filled up here in Central New Jersey last night for $1.67 a gallon
  8. Money makes the world go round thats for sure... WS Ball Red Sox want Mientkiewicz to give up ball from final out Jan. 7, 2005 SportsLine.com wire reports BOSTON -- Boston Red Sox fans have seen the video over and over again. A ground ball to pitcher Keith Foulke. He tosses it underhand to backup first baseman Doug Mientkiewicz, who raises it high as Boston celebrates its first World Series championship in 86 years. Mientkiewicz still hasn't let go of the ball. But now the Red Sox want it back. Calling the ball, "my retirement fund," Mientkiewicz stored it in a safety deposit box. Red Sox CEO Larry Lucchino said Thursday he's going to ask Mientkiewicz to return it to the team. "We want it to be part of Red Sox archives or museums so it can be shared with the fans," Lucchino told the Boston Globe. "We would hope he would understand the historical nature of it." Mientkiewicz seems to understand it very well, which is exactly why he held on to it. Historic baseballs have recently fetched impressive sums. The baseball Red Sox catcher Carlton Fisk banged off the foul pole in the 1975 World Series sold for $113,373. The ball Barry Bonds hit for his 73rd home run went for $450,000. The most expensive baseball of all time is Mark McGwire's 70th homer, which went for $3 million. Mientkiewicz said he thinks the Boston's World Series ball has more value than a home run ball. "Those are important and all, don't get me wrong, but there are always going to be more home runs," he said. "This is something that took 86 years, and 86 years is a long time. Personally, I went through hell and back this year. But winning the World Series is something I'm going to remember for a long time." Mientkiewicz came to Boston from Minnesota in a four-team midseason deal that sent Boston shortstop Nomar Garciaparra to the Chicago Cubs. Mientkiewicz, who batted .215 for Boston, was used primarily as a late-inning defensive replacement, and the former All-Star has indicated his unhappiness with the role. Boston broke its championship drought by beating the New York Yankees in seven games in the AL Championship Series, then sweeping the St. Louis Cardinals in four games in the World Series. After the game, Mientkiewicz said he put the ball in his locker, then gave it to his wife, Jodi, who put it in her purse. The next day, the ball was authenticated by Major League Baseball. Carmine Tiso, spokesman for MLB, told the Globe that Mientkiewicz owns the baseball, though Joe Januszewski, Red Sox director of corporate partnerships, said he thinks the team owns it. Mientkiewicz couldn't be reached for comment Thursday by the Globe after Lucchino said the club wanted the ball back. But on Wednesday, he left no doubt that he believes the ball belongs to him. "I know this ball has a lot of sentimental value," Mientkiewicz said. "I hope I don't have to use it for the money. It would be cool if we have kids someday to have it stay in our family for a long time. But I can be bought. I'm thinking, there's four years at Florida State for one of my kids. At least."
  9. It will catch up to the Yankees. Just wait and see. Can George get suspended again!?!?!
  10. Wow. No arguments from me after looking at his numbers. And especially when you consider the elements of playing in Buffalo, having a strong kicker is so important.
  11. Are Pats fans in unision on their feelings toward Peyton or what?!?!
  12. Regardless of what political party one supports, one thing is for sure: All the work across the world in Iraq, Afganhastain, everywhere, by USMCBillsFan and others in the military are NEVER forgotten by me, ever. Just this week, my Uncle Charlie, who I was very close to and was like another grandfather to me, passed away. He was in the Navy, and served on the USS Yorktown in WWII and was in the Korean War. I will never forget all the stories that he has told me over the years and all the great service he and so many others have done and are doing now.
  13. I really dont know how Bills fans can even view that game as a playoff matchup. What a farce.
  14. I think the articles bring up some valid points about why the Yankees may not win, but so many anti yankees fans are so ob$e$$ed about money their blinders are on and the whine-fest continues. Yankees are going down the wrong path. And Im a Yankees fan.
  15. Which is why Im not watching the NFC WC games this weekend...its a fraud festival in the NFC games this weekend...Ill spend my time doing better things then watching frauds like the Seahags, Mike Fartz, and Overrated Culpepper.
  16. SD 24 Jets 17- Jets fans once again ONLY blame Hackett Indy 31 Denver 17- Plummer, enough said The other 2 games: Who cares, that conference, especially after Philly and Atlanta, is a disgrase....they are not even worth picking
  17. Simms was a very good QB, I wouldnt sell him short because of what they say about Kelly. For whatever reason they dont like Kelly, so be it.
  18. I can assure you on one thing T: If our Bills ever win the SB...I wojt give one stevestojan about any of the other teams like that joker does about the Yankees after the Red Sox finally won the WS!!!
  19. Thanks for the debate too....and as for your "former" team, I think the O's are heading in the right direction...they have to stick with their path of grooming their young starters and then keeping them...and keep Angelos away from making baseball decisions as much as possible and they will be back...great baseball park and great baseball town.
  20. You are right about the 16 teams...I still bet the ratio between the have and have nots was the same then as it is now.... The comment about Take off your Yankees googles....that was a label....Im not a rah rah Yankees fan...never have been...in fact I dont even like this RJ trade to begin with...hes 41...his knee is fragile....but its funny we havent even gotten into the baseball end of this trade because so many here continously whine about money over and over and over again.
  21. My Yankee goggles arent on, so dont label me like you label everyone else. And even when there were 12 teams in MLB there were a couple have not's too (Washington Seantors, Philly A's).....you will ALWAYS have that, period. Ad you said it yourself, so dont go on and on and on about money: Some of the 8 - 10 teams are so poorly run, that despite their economic advantage they wont compete either. Therefore the well run teams, Yankees, Red Sox, Braves are almost always in the playoffs
