  1. As much as I hate the f'in No Goal Stars....they get very strong support...so i have to partly disagree with your comment.
  2. Ok it is a deal...as long as Tanith Belbin is all mine
  3. I compare the NFL now somewhat to a musical superstar, actor, or actress that does so well and what happens is that personality is so exposed that sometimes the appeal loses something. Its still great, but it is just not the same. I think in a small way the same can be said for the NFL: I think there is too much coverage now...and when the games do not live up to expectations...its disappointing. Plus some E$PN "personalities" for example are now so big (which was created by the networks themselves and foolishly the public buys into them) that they do not leave much to our own imaginations, because the opinions are given so fast now, that we subconscously formulate our opinions on the NFL based on what the tools on E$PN radio tell us.
  4. Well let's hope the Bills win the Super Bowl by 2011...you know..just in case this loony is right...
  5. Bill, when Joe was on the overnights...after Jet losses I would try my best to stay awake for the Beningo monolauge at the beginning of the show...classic rants!!
  6. Well you will not get much of an argument from me on that point (Im a Sabres fan as an FYI)... I used to intern with the Devils...they are a very good organization make no mistake about that...but their location is terrible...too close to NYC...we all get NYC media converage here for the most part...of course they will not lead with the Devils...and that kills their chances of getting big attendence... Bottom line: Take the NJ Devils of the last 10 years, move the players 6 miles away to MSG and give them Rangers jerseys...hockey is HUGE in NYC right now. Partly, that is sad.
  7. So based on where a QB is drafted holds merit? Ryan Leaf 2nd overall? Andre Ware 5th overall? Joey Harrington 3rd overall? Alex Smith 1st overall last year? Again, you might prove to be right about JP...but how loud do we have to say it.. JP has not even played 1 full season ON THE FIELD YET!!!
  8. Not when you are at work during the day and you know the score before you get home it isnt the same...plus Im tired of seeing the pros in the games, especially guys like Old Man Chelios
  9. So based on this, you expect Philip Rivers to step right in and be a stud, because he has studied game film etc for over 2 years? He will struggle...and should be expected to...just like JP should have been expected to struggle. Don't get me wrong..I do like Holcumb...but why people are SO quick to dismiss on JP in under 1 season of gameplay is beyond me. Aikman was 1-15 in his first year, based on the way you give assessments, he would have been gone from Dallas after 1 year of you were their GM.
  10. Im counting down the minutes till the NHL starts again...do not know about all of you, but Im tired of this Olympic Break crap already
  11. I agree tater.... But still the issue this past weekend (now I didnt see the games just going by the score, what I heard etc) was that the USA had trouble scoring...that was not dipietrio's or grahame's fault
  12. True, but did the fact that a QB like Bobby Hebert had a very high completing % indicate that he was a top notch QB? And JP has not even played 1 full season, is that the amount of time a QB should get now to evaluate whether he could be a top notch QB?
  13. Holcumb was a Version 10 or 11 last year (Hes been around for a long time) Losman's "Version 2" really is still a version 1a because JP was still a "rookie" last year no matter how you slice it. I did not realize all QB's need to be very good or better after Year 1.
  14. Could this be a Peerless like move....now the Jets deal him?
  15. In theory I agree with you...but just like baseball owners...hockey owners...any owners for that matters...a lot of them are greedy with a captial G...and will want NO part of revenue sharing if they can avoid it as an example. I hear you that the NFL will probably come to an agreement by 2007. But a lot of NFL fans are so quick to dismiss the possibility of a work stoppage because they think the NFL is above the other sports when it comes to greed, unions etc. Believe me, they arent. Are we forgetting the NFL has been on strike twice before? I think most fans are in denial already
  16. And keep guys like Old Man Chelios off the roster...
  17. In a weird and twisted way I miss having ICE on the board as well...say what you want about him, but he sure did cause chaos at times..sometimes bad...sometimes hilarious chaos
