Who do you not want to see the Bills release?

That being said, how much are you willing to pay Williams to come back and remain a Bill? -
Who do you not want to see the Bills release?

I couldn't fit release / resign in the subject but it does say that in the question. I am not sure if anyone here would be content with keeping fat Mike around, especially at his current cap number. -

That is a great point. I love Moulds as a player, but not sure if even a restructured contract would provide a great enough ROI to keep him around. -
I am sure that it is possible that they are all let go, though Adams seems like he might be the most likely to return. I think that Josh Reed made some strides towards the end of last year and I have a feeling that he will make a nice #2 receiver on another team if he is not resigned.

That is not the point of the article. The point is that other teams GM's were better evaluators of talent than Donahoe was. The guys who picked the right stocks in 2002 are rich. They are good at what they do.

Did anyone catch what really happened here? Daunte, representing himself, asked the Vikings to up his pay by $10 Million next year, bringing his total pay to $18M next season. He is coming off an injury and is due a roster bonus of $7 Million in early March. There is no way that a team will trade for him if he doesn't pass his physical. He is asking / making the Vikings to cut him so he can sign wherever he wants.

I was in Pittsburgh for work last year and I decided to bring back some IC to drink. It was the first beer I had ever had in aluminum cans so I figured I'd bring it back for my buddies to try. When I was carrying it through the airport one of the security guards told me to "take as much of that crap beer back with you as can. we hate it." All in all, I don't think it is that bad.

If you are a player with a back-loaded contract
ACor58 replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You raise a good question promo and a lot of it comes down to egos. Remember the $100 Million contract that Bledsoe signed in NE a few years ago? Both sides knew that that deal would never be completed, with ridiculous clauses like $7 Million roster bonuses. The agents have a big stake in this too. Even though they only get a cut of the signing bonus and any money earned in subsequent years, a guy like Drew Rosenhaus will go bragging to other potential clients on the size of the contracts he negotiated, even though none of it is gauranteed except for the sb. -
20 years ago, my dad went out to get me some milk to put on my Cocoa Puffs. I ain't seen him since...

Like I said earlier, he wants to stick it to the Pats... Ty Law said he expects the Jets to release him shortly, and that he wants to play for a Super Bowl contender. In an interview with the Kansas City Star, the Pro Bowl cornerback said the Dolphins fit that description. -- Newsday

The Patriots seemed to do OK without Law. He is talented but I would rather maker the investment in a reasonably priced free agent, that is if Nate goes. I am not sure that teams will be willing to pay Ty Law the kind of money that he wants. I am sure that in the back of his mind, he also wants to land someplace where he has a chance to stick it to the Patriots, that is why he went to the Jets last year. I feel like we may be a season or two away from being able to stick it to the Patriots.

From Darftsharks: This means Warner is off the market (sorry Detroit) and Josh McCown will be leaving in free agency. Warner was extremely productive in spurts last year, actually posting top-5 fantasy numbers over a 6-game stretch before he sprained his MCL in December. He developed a perfect rapport with Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin (who became the most dangerous WR duo in pro football) and topped 300 yards 5 times in only 8 full starts.

All it really says is that Warner will make $7milliion this year without incentives. How big was the signing bonus? This could really be nothing more than a 1 yr deal.

Metro markets support of pro sports
ACor58 replied to BuffaloBud's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While the games at the BCA are fun, they don't do the team much good when they are playing well. The Arena keeps all the concession revenue and even a sellout at the BCA is only 11,000 fans, which the team needs to share with the arena. -
Speaking of Ray Bentley...Darby the Dinosaur books anyone? http://www.allbookstores.com/browse/Author/Bentley%2C%20Ray

Metro markets support of pro sports
ACor58 replied to BuffaloBud's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Rochester was #7 for top market for expansion. Rochester also has a higher area total personal income ($43.9 billion) than Buffalo ($41.4 billion). Maybe the Bills should move here. -
How can you start this thread without mentioning Coy Wire. Remember what a hard hitter Kurt Schultz used to be. Not saying he was the greatest, but he was always good for one big hit per game.

THUMBS DOWN ... for the women's ice hockey. Lemme get this straight. There's no checking allowed. Body contact is permitted, but only if defenders are playing the puck, and they aren't allowed to throw their hips or shoulders into opponents. Also, female hockey players are considerably slower and less talented than men's hockey players. So to recap: Women's ice hockey is just like men's ice hockey, except the players are considerably slower and less talented, and there's no checking. Sounds like a winner. Gee, I can't believe it hasn't caught on professionally yet.

Keith McKellar was solid in 89, 90, and 91. Then he started to suck.
-
That is too bad, I always liked him as a coach. The problem is that his defenses were never as good in NY or Minnesota as they were in Buffalo. It could be an issue with race, with age, or with both. Either way, I find it hard to believe that he wasn't able to find a job. Probably a case of him not finding another DC or am HC job.

Bears Player arrested for threatening cop
ACor58 replied to ACor58's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It looks like they were giving him the ticket...then he started to mouth off. February 12, 2006 - For the second time in less than a year Bears defensive tackle Tank Johnson has been arrested outside a Chicago nightclub. The latest incident happened just before 4:00 Sunday morning on North Rush Street. Chicago police confirm Johnson was arrested and charged with aggravated battery to a police officer and resisting arrest. Police say an officer was issuing Johnson a traffic citation for obstructing the roadway when they claim Johnson started to verbally threaten the officer. Police say when the officer tried to handcuff Johnson, he started to struggle with the officer. Additional officers assisted in the arrest of Johnson. These are misdemeanor charges. Johnson posted bond and will appear in court on March 2, 2006. In November, Johnson was sentenced to 18 months probation and 40 hours community service after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor gun charge. In that case, he was arrested after a nightclub valet reported seeing Johnson with a handgun in his sport utility vehicle. -
Bears player accused of threatening cop February 13, 2006 BY GARY WISBY Staff Reporter lready on probation for a weapons conviction, Chicago Bears defensive tackle Terry "Tank" Johnson was charged Sunday with aggravated assault and resisting arrest after allegedly threatening a police officer. "You ain't the only one with a Glock," Johnson told the officer, according to Chicago Police. "If it wasn't for your gun and your badge, I'd kick your ass." The threat was against an officer who was ticketing a limousine illegally double parked at 1045 N. Rush at 3:45 a.m. Sunday, said Lt. Joe Schmit of the Near North District. When the officer tried to arrest Johnson, the player allegedly refused to place his hands behind his back to be handcuffed. A struggle ensued, ending after the officer sprayed Johnson with Mace and overpowered him with the help of other officers, Schmit said. Johnson was released on a signature bond. Attempts to reach him, his agent or his attorney Sunday were unsuccessful. On Nov. 2, Johnson pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor after a loaded gun was found in his truck in Chicago. He received probation.

The Giants are probably going to lose Will Allen via Free Agency. Would anyone be willing to let Nate go and try signing Allen for a cheaper price?
