Flacco was not an elite QB overall, but he was elite during that playoff run. 11 touchdowns, zero interceptions, two wins in shootouts against the Broncos and Niners. I'd say Flacco and the offense were more responsible for that SB win that the defense was.

The national media narrative since the Bills won

Guess we likely won't need Cooper then, if that dork said that. -
I tend to agree with your overall ideas here. I think the media in general goes a little overboard with turnovers, and a QB can overcome them if he puts touchdowns on the board. I can't say Lamar outplayed Allen, but maybe Allen didn't outplay Lamar by that much either. The turnovers were a big part of the game, though. If Lamar didn't dig his team a hole in the first half, he wouldn't have had to scramble to claw them back in the second half. I feel that if the Bills were down, we would have obviously seen a different plan of attack from Allen on offense. It was clear that the Bills were trying to run clock and control the ball in the second half, at least to my eyes. They did not want Josh taking any chances. If Buffalo was down by 14 points, I am pretty sure Josh airs it out with more passes at the line of scrimmage. Maybe he throws a few touchdowns, maybe he has a pick or two. We will never know. We can only go by what we know, and what happened. The Bills took a page out of the Chiefs playbook and won ugly.

No dream, my friend. I have ears and eyes.

There are plenty of videos out there to disprove the bolded. I mean, let's deal in reality here. Allen has put up all time great performances in the playoffs and still is considered a choker in media circles. Remember last year against the Eagles, when Josh was the best player on the field that week in the entire NFL and the response by the "experts" was that he lost the game because of one interception. Remember when they said he was not clutch? A turnover machine? I remember it. Josh could have thrown for four hundred yards against the Ravens in a losing effort and he would have been skewered in the media if he had one turnover, let alone two. Look at his last two performances against KC, and listen to the calls that he can't beat Mahomes and is not a winner.

So we're moving on from Harbaugh right?
tigerthelion replied to section122's topic in The Stadium Wall
I can see the logic to firing Harbaugh for sure. His Ravens have come up short in the playoffs for years now. -
With the rate that Lamar throws interceptions and touchdowns in the postseason, maybe that's as much or more on Lamar as it is on Andrews. I could be wrong on that, but Lamar, overall, has been pretty poor in the playoffs.

I had some negative thoughts during the game, but honestly, I think that was the most satisfying win as a fan since Allen was drafted. The Bills were basically written off by the "pundits" and they played a hard nosed game. The offensive line played well and are a nasty group. I was quite impressed with the defense overall, considering the team they played. I think so called "ugly" wins may be even better than "pretty" wins. Just get the job done. Never apologize for a win. Would love for the offensive game to open up, and I think you gotta coach agrgresively to win (especially in KC), but if the Bills win ugly in KC, that's awesome. If Josh throws for 100 yards in the Super Bow and they win, even better!
