If Detroit is relatively fine/ok ,that's great! But stuff like hosting the draft is just short term profit for the people and more profit for the wealthy. The Tigers,Lions, Pistons are still like bottom 5 or 6 in their leagues in profits. They benefit from the profit sharing contracts in each league. But that again is money for the wealthy, not the people. Interestingly enough, the Red-wings are 15th in NHL. Doing much better. But if the city is starting to recover. Nothing wrong with that!

Not even close. Maybe I'd have more empathy for Detroit if the kept the 80s uniforms. But even now, they are a bottom 4 money maker for NFL. The city of Detroit is destroyed. Only the owners make money. So I doubt nationally that anyone cares that much. I'd be more interested in Chicago getting good. Or Minnesota going back to dark purple and winning.
