Well I'm done ranting and being negative. Time to regroup. McDermott isn't going anywhere and it is what it is. Going to choose to be hopeful. I remember saying to my father before the season started that this team and it's youth reminded me a bit of the 1988 team. This offense is ahead of schedule but is still missing a lofton similar to that team. I do think that the 88 team had a better defense. So we need 2-3 major pieces there. I really like the youth and talents of Rousseau, Oliver, Solomon, Bernard, Williams, Andressen , Ulofoshio, Benford, Bishop, Rapp, Johnson, Hardy and Ingram. I'm hoping Elam can turn the corner, still a very young player. The team chemistry is better than the bickering bills. We had a very tough division win similar to beating the oilers in 88 and then lost the AFC championship on the road and still didn't look quite ready for the moment. Somewhat similar to the 88 AFC championship on the road vs Cincinnati Hopefully we can get to multiple super bowls in the coming years like that team. In that era Denver with Elway and Marino were going before we went. So lots of similarities and Allen is the same age as Kelly at that time. Two young dynamic rbs , young Shakir like Reed, Coleman like Beebe etc. We need a Kirby Jackson and we need a great young pass rusher Then we need a lofton

Kincaid has fluid buildup in one knee,pcl injury in the other, and back surgery in college.... I wouldn't be shocked if they trade him for whatever while he still has perceived value. Knox is entering his prime Morris and Davidson are solid depth.

Dick Jaroun was a good leader and decent coach. He simply had zero at QB. And all the success would more or less be the same if Jaroun was the coach right now. But at least Jaroun went to an ivy league school .... I want Allen to have a higher level offensive mind as his coach and visionary as he enters his prime. McDermott is incompetent in the playoffs. And you're not just correct and it's not hyperbole This is why adding more talent on defense won't matter In 2020 with a More talented defense The Phillip Rivers colts had 29 FIRST downs and almost 500 yds of offense lol It's the coach guys Only reason we won is because Allen went alien mode

I can guarantee you that we won't get to a super bowl let alone win one with this regime and coach.

I want a top offensive coach like a Sean Payton with Allen as he enters his prime. That's the best equation to win multiple Superbowls imo It's not going to happen with McDermott

If this defense can never just be above avg in a critical playoff game, doesn't that tell us everything we need to know. I feel like we're just fooling ourselves thinking it's going to magically just work out. There's systemic issues on defense. The 3rd down defense for example is getting worse exponentially Bruce Smith isn't walking through that door Maybe if they had a truly great pass rusher someone could talk me into thinking that the talent could overcome some coaching deficiencies

This is sadly the most obvious Truth but ppl are pretending like oh it was different this year. What was different lol The defense was avg mostly in the regular season. We still can't get a real pass rusher and the defense was historically bad in the playoffs again. Like so the answer is let's load up more resources on defense again, Sean then won't play them because of their inexperience as rookies and they'll get torched again in the playoffs. Oh and the 3rd down defense will be a joke I hate that ppl think we made progress this year lol. Yeah we got a real OC that actually used a scheme to open up things but he's going to be gone in a year or two. Then what?

I really wonder if we had a truly great pass rusher like Myles Garrett opposite Rousseau, you'd probably see Rousseau get 12-14 sacks. But I get your point. He's not really a true difference maker. I really wish Beane would trade up for Abdul Carter similar to when we traded for Cornelius Bennett We just don't have" that guy" on defense.

They'll probably keep Rousseau just because he's really the only true talent we have up front and only 24. Him and Oliver They really do need to overhaul the defense tho in the draft Like 2 CBS A safety A linebacker And probably 3-4 dlineman 7-9 picks need to be spent on defense. The cb rooms athletic ability needs to be upgraded dramatically.
