If you were oblivious to any historical context and just saw mahomes and Allen play each other and you had no idea who was who, you would think it's the same QB.

The players union is so bad. This is getting ridiculous. They are just stealing money from the players at this point- 73 replies

Their are arguments in reality right now that say Allen might be slightly better or would give you pause. But nobody is going to fully take it seriously unless it's validated with a ring

Damien woody and rex Ryan and Chris Simms have repeatedly said Allen is the best at times the past few years. Many ppl think Allen is the more talented, better QB. They did an anonymous polling among GMS back in 2020 and like 12 GMS said Allen was just as good as mahomes.... Most analysts worth their salt aren't going to say it out loud until the torch is officially passed Allen has to win the super bowl and beat mahomes in the playoffs to put serious weight into that opinion. That's the moment ppl are waiting for. It happened already in 13 seconds but McDermott screwed it up. Don't reply to me about McDermott. I'm over it and have forgiven him.

A good way to phrase it is, ring counting to rank QBs in the NFL is flawed, but you also probably need a couple to help your argument with ranking. You can't just pretend winning a super bowl is not largely a QBs responsibility ( however you want to slice it). There's a reason the super bowl and conference championship games usually have the best QBs. Super bowl wins have weight, but it's probably a bit overvalued in football. But to just dismiss it as a Bills fan in the context of ranking mahomes vs Allen, it's just a cope from bills fans. I'm guilty of it, it sucks and is flawed but it's also not nothing. Allen has to beat mahomes in the playoffs and win the championship. He doesn't need as many rings as mahomes, that's silly. But he has to win a championship. It's a right of passage every all time great has to go through.

It's very simple. Do you think mahomes could win a super bowl or multiple with Sean McDermott? If you need to pause then you have your answer. But generally I agree with you, if Allen wins the Superbowl this year it's going to open the flood gates especially if he beats mahomes in the playoffs and obviously with a defensive HC who has had his own blunders. It's going to be very hard to dismiss it

Looking at Race for the #1 Seed

Lions main backup CB rakestraw is on ir Staring CB Arnold is out with a groin The other starting CB Davis has a broken hand Starting linebacker anzalone is the green dot and he's out.... -
Dylan raiola just did another mahomes impersonation LMFAO. It's getting creepy big time OMG 😳 😂 They actually don't. Ppl are simply waiting for Allen to win the championship because that's how it goes. It's how it should be. Allen has to beat mahomes in the playoffs and win the super bowl. Then you can officially say Allen is better imo. I do think Allen is the slightly better QB but they are extremely similar sandlot QBs.

I don't think KC is getting any more calls than any other super star might get. The difference is mahomes greatness Getting the one seed usually And mostly lucky with their blue chip stars being healthy. Once in 20 mahomes got hurt but the KC defense held on. And in the 22 AFC championship all rookies were playing in the secondary and two starting wrs went down. To me that was mahomes finest moment beating a helluva Bengals team with no name wrs. I think kelce played but was a little hurt with his back too The 22 AFC championship is mahomes greatest performance imo. Incredible numbers too Every great player is going to get a few calls. That's just par for the course

I hate this so much. The Patriots got tons of byes from being the 2 seed if I'm not mistaken. Total bs -
His whole premise is flawed ( Aaron shatz). The data won't show up if looking for a trap game because it's rare by its own definition. That's why it's a trap game lol. What a stupid study 😭 The question is why would such an inferior team beat a much better team other than random bounces of the ball. Weather and human psychology would be the only answer. Duh lol

It's because everyone knows Allen is better. ( They might not admit it obviously but everyone knows)....It's all projection. The only thing Allen really needs is the title to put a stamp on it. It's just insecurity

Off the top of my head we blew out KC in 21 and lost the very next week to the Titans. I remember against Miami in 99. We won a huge game 23-3 and Miami was 7-1. We lost the next week to the ray Lucas jets. In 2011 after finally beating the Patriots in an incredible comeback we lost vs the Bengals I still have no clue how KC lost to the O'Connell raiders last year and buffalo lost 9-6 the jags in 21. That seems literally impossible in this universe but it happened Trap games are a real thing because psychology is part of sports Momentum is also a psychological part of sports

A little trip down Bills/Chiefs title games history
Kelly to Allen replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't think anyone wouldve beat the 91 Washington team. That was one of the greatest teams I've ever seen. -
KC will most likely blow out the Panthers. It's not uncommon tho for a team that is way better to lose the next week vs an inferior team if they just came off a huge emotional big game. It's very very common. KC put everything into trying to beat buffalo and that can be emotionally draining for a couple weeks. Something to keep an eye on It's why the bills bye week after the chiefs game is so important

I personally root for the lions and want them to be the NFC representative vs buffalo. I'll watch the lions. Idk watching the lions destroy everyone brings joy to my heart similar to the scene in a Christmas story when he beats up the bully.

They ran so well vs KC in the AFC championship. Really mind boggling they couldn't get the title. -
It's definitely a buffoon type coach hire and keeps the circus going but honestly I don't know who else wants the job At least the jets would have an identity and be tough. He obviously loves the jets, his dad coached the jets... Idk trying to see a silver lining

A little trip down Bills/Chiefs title games history

The 93 team is underrated and felt like a super bowl win was inevitable. The 90 team was similar. I had a horrible feeling playing Washington and Dallas in 91/92. I still think if Thurman doesn't fumble, they score and go up 20-6 and hang on for the title. The 93 bills were very physical and won a lot of close games. It was probably their best defense in the Kelly era. The 96 defense was really good too. I still don't understand how they fell off in 94. I know the Steelers were ascending but that was kinda it. Shanahan wasn't in Denver yet and buffalo still had all their guys mostly in the prime. I know Talley was aging but they drafted good lbs in 94 and had depth. Random. I will concede that defenses started to really catch up to the no huddle as it wasn't a novelty anymore I remember watching frank Reich vs the Patriots at the end in 94, and was like what the hell lol. -
They don't " need " him to run it. Allen in many games hasn't run at all or very little and they boat race teams. It's a weapon used more in the context of when you want to use all your tools and capabilities If Allen is operating at an A+ level and he's running 4-6x a game to convert 3rd downs it is absolute God mode as a QB and offense. It's literally unstoppable Even troll Nick wright has said it's a completely helpless feeling and " the Josh Allen scramble" in conjunction with him shredding you as a passer is the most terrifying QB in football Nobody including the bills view it as foundational to the offense or Allen. It's simply a tool used judiciously and to make the defense game plan for absolutely everything. Elway , young and Staubach always used it even late in their career
-
This is silly. Allen has taken a couple big hits this year but he's sliding a lot and the punishment compared to what favre or Kelly took is not even comparable. QBs took way more punishment years ago. I don't worry about Allen running especially with him sliding more. More so with any QB, it's the unexpected awkward hit in the pocket that is dangerous
-
I will say this. KC should have easily blown out the ravens. There was a bs call on the wr screen for a TD, and if KC just kicked the fg instead of going for it, that game would've been 27-7, 34-10ish The real AFC championship was between Buffalo and KC the week prior. The KC game vs the dolphins was the most boring playoff game I've ever seen. KC completely dominated. Matt verderame literally said he made some hot chocolate and fell asleep during the game lol

Would we bring Gabe back as wr 4 if he gets released from the jags? He is perfect in that role similar to 20/21 seasons and perfect depth to step into wr3 if someone gets hurt. He's only 26 next year I would do that and draft someone. I'm kinda bias because I always liked Gabe. Id rather have Big Game Gabe instead of Diggs.

The refs will favor KC and they're still losing by 30 in the AFC championship in Buffalo.
