Quarterbacks and "fake slide" controvery
Kelly to Allen replied to I'm Spartacus's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's a moot point. Allow the fake slide. Just don't complain when you get lit up. It's the QBs responsibility for his own safety. It's not really possible to put a defender in the position of judging whether the QB is going to slide or go out of bounds. The defender is going full speed and the QB is under the responsibility to avoid contact. We don't need refs making more subjective calls beyond what is already common sense. Again it's called unnecessary roughness. Yup. That's another ridiculous rule. They then added another one with the hip drop tackle. And now you can't land on top of the QB if you sack him. Which epenesa literally did but it still didn't matter and was called for roughing the passer anyway. It's insane -

The 90s before things could be reviewed was the perfect balance imo. I was a massive advocate for reviewing stuff but I absolutely hate it now. NFL games before 2000 were way more smooth and very simple. Id be willing to go back and put up with the pitfalls of missed calls or whatever. -
OT: what did you think of the hit on Lawrence?
Kelly to Allen replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
If Allen gets a cheap shot anything close to this during our super bowl run, id expect a full bench clearing brawl and probably a major delay in the game. Spencer Brown or Anderson would destroy whoever tried that -

Quarterbacks and "fake slide" controvery
Kelly to Allen replied to I'm Spartacus's topic in The Stadium Wall
We don't need more rules. I understand what you mean. It's called unnecessary roughness. Same thing with sacking the QB. They've have made it stupid and ridiculous. It's a subjective call but we all know what the line is. I don't want refs thinking more than they need to Football is not a math equation You remove the necessity to flag a fake slide if you simply put the responsibility of the QB to protect himself. You don't get to slide or potentially slide at the last second. Put the responsibility on the QB. If not, then you get lit up -

It's frickin football. It's a gladiator contact sport. Don't want to get hit as a QB, then slide earlier. It's the responsibility of the QB to protect himself. Not the other way around. Obviously the Texans hit was dirty but we have enough rules. You can't make playing defense robotic Everything doesn't need this dissertation or legal lingo on how and when to tackle someone. We all know what the line is. Same nonsense with sacking the QB. We already had a rule, it's called unnecessary roughness. This reminds me of the catch rules. We all know what a frickin catch is. You can't turn football into this perfect performance of robotic lawyer legalize. -
Week 14 - Bills at Rams Game Week Thread

Kurt Warner in 2001 had 22 ints and 26 total turnovers and he still got MVP.... Allen had more tds and less turnovers last year and was the 2 seed.... No MVP 😂 -
Imagine calling the guy with the most tds in NFL history in his first 6 yrs overrated.... A guy who has the second most tds in NFL playoff history for a QB in his first ten playoff games A guy who is second in the NFL since 19 and 20 in passing tds ( 6 behind mahomes since 20) A guy if you took away all his rushing production still tied Peyton frickin Manning in PASSING TDS in his first six years but has like 30 less int. A guy who has won 4 and now 5 straight division titles and has the second highest winning percentage since 2020, 3rd since 19 in the entire NFL. A guy with more PASSING TDS IN THE PLAYOFFS and in less playoff games than Phillip Rivers entire playoff career... A guy who has the most tds over any 4 year span in NFL history A guy who literally outplays and beats mahomes all the time lol Whoever said he's overrated is a 🤡 🤡 🤡 🤡 🤡

Ray Davis is a legitimate RB 1 on many teams and is an all purpose RB. He can do everything at a high level. Has underrated breakaway speed too. His vision, quickness and ability to play between the tackles and bounce it outside is really good. Again his breakaway speed and speed to the outside is underrated and much better than singletary I thought he was the best RB in the draft and he only slipped because of his age. I loved the pick and was high fivin my brother when we drafted him. Clear starter in 26. Has Tomlinson and a little Thurman in his game

Yup. He's going to be starting in the playoffs. 3 games to help bring a world championship to buffalo 🦬

[Unsubstantiated] Rumors of Micah Hyde's imminent return
Kelly to Allen replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't think he wanted too. But obviously with the stingers he can't play an entire season. Come playoff time he's the perfect center fielder to get ints We need him for depth at the minimum. I agree with everyone here that Bishop is a nice prospect but he's not really ready. Similar to Bernard in 22 -
Is this the best team in the Allen era?
Kelly to Allen replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's the best team buffalo has had since 1990 or 1964. Roster and team The 64 team was a juggernaut and went 13-2 1st in offense and defense. The 90 team was great but didn't win the championship unfortunately. If this bills team finishes 18-2 it will go down as the greatest bills team of all time imo. I don't think it's close honestly. -

I said the KC interior oline.... Trey smith, Humphrey and thuney are considered elite. They got their ass kicked by Oliver, Daquan and company -
If Allen wins out and goes 15-2 and they don't give him the unanimous MVP, it will be an injustice, purposeful and cruel. It will also make the ap and the MVP award illegitimate in the eyes of the public It would be pretty disgraceful and probably permanently damage the sports media/ legacy media It will also tell me they are never giving him the award

Al-Shaair suspended 3 games will miss Chiefs game of course
Kelly to Allen replied to Big Blitz's topic in The Stadium Wall
Marcus Spears and Richard Sherman are more upset about runyans comments than the actual dirty hit by the Texans linebacker.... Gotta love him literally grabbing Tom Brady by the throat and other multiple violations that are late / dirty , but all of a sudden the Texans linebacker is the real victim here lol I just can't anymore 😭 This Texans team is turning into a clown show. Especially with the diggs nonsense in the background. Along with strouds bizarre comments in the off-season -

Week 14 - Bills at Rams Game Week Thread
Kelly to Allen replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I do watch the game. They completely dominated the interior oline of KC ... That's literally what we all saw. Daquan Jones and Oliver were also not healthy earlier in the year. You're also confusing inviting the run with 6 man boxes vs actual run defense. This is clearly available with the data from dvoa -
Does Hyde return this year to the Bills?
Kelly to Allen replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall
I didn't see any lost speed from Hyde last year unlike poyer who definitely lost speed. He ran down achane for Miami last year. Obviously he kept getting stingers from the neck issue. My guess is that the Drs have said he can play x amount of games before the stingers come back which probably means he practices obviously for a good month and gets some reps before the playoffs start. Then it's full go imo. He's still an outstanding center fielder But this is all speculation It could definitely be a insurance type issue because safety is so important to our defense -
Week 14 - Bills at Rams Game Week Thread
Kelly to Allen replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
That statistic is archaic compared to dvoa. Dvoa takes into account context and injury and time in the game, playing from behind etc, offensive and defensive formation.... Dvoa is a much better tool to fully encapsulate the rankings imo. I do agree with you that the light boxes we play can be somewhat frustrating sometimes. We want other teams to take as long as possible to score and limit possessions... It's a philosophy one can debate -
Bills vs. 49ers Mic'd up: Dion Dawkins
Kelly to Allen replied to Warcodered's topic in The Stadium Wall
Best LT in football. -
I went from a McDermott skeptic to a McDermott believer. He won me over last year during the dunne article after we beat KC in KC. The team was going thru insane injuries and to see the adoration, and respect in the locker room after that win along with the run they went on. He's highly highly respected by the players and higher ups in the organization and that tells me he's an incredible leader and a honest man. I hope he coaches buffalo as Long as Landry coached the cowboys. He reminds me of Tom Landry

What’s it gonna take to improve /prioritize our run defense?
Kelly to Allen replied to Jistafan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Buffalo is 7th in run defense dvoa and completely destroyed the KC interior oline. Which is considered the best allegedly. Plus Carter is back fully healthy.
