TE seemed to be a popular first round mock for the broncos. With this addition and a deep TE class I’m sure this shakes up where those projected round 1 TE’s land.

Chiefs and Commanders tampering with Ronnie Stanley
BlueRed replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall
For reference purposes - last year the Falcons were stripped of a 5th round pick and fined 250k for Kirk Cousins supposed tampering. I think this is something to keep an eye on with the league. They will investigate but I actually wonder if the punishment would come in less than the Falcons because the tampering didn’t actually help them land the player. -
Ryan Stonehouse from the Titans might be a good add for the Bills at punter… if anyone cares

Bills Player Releases and Restructures--New League Year Begins 3/12/25

I actually wouldn’t mind the bills using one of their top 3 picks on an o-lineman (which I understand isn’t going to be a popular take here). Kromer gets the best out of his guys which is why we feel comfortable with day 3 and UDFA’s as depth - But imagine if he hand picked an early round prospect and got them to reach their potential - Scary. Leaning into the bills strength last year and making it even stronger might be a good way to win the offseason. -
A not great (for Bills) mock draft. What would you do different?!

I saw somewhere that Alexander will turn 25 in August, I don’t think that fits in with the bills history of first round picks - leaning into youth and potential. -
I can’t seem to find anything on it now but I thought it was reported that McGovern finished the season playing through a difficult shoulder injury - did I imagine that?

Josh and Christian Kirk seem to be together every offseason. I don’t know how they are connected but I agree with you that this is one to keep an eye on.

I’m starting to wonder if for a successful Bills Super Bowl run they should keep a few of their key UFA’s next year on expiring contracts to get their best performance - like Cook and maybe Bernard. The Eagles let Milton Williams and Josh Sweat play on the final years of their deals and they both made a lot of extra money with their Super Bowl performances.

Free Agents we like for the 2025 Bills?
BlueRed replied to Desert Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I could see the bills making a “chase claypool” type offer to Terrace Marshall jr. He’s done next to nothing so far in the NFL but has ties back with Joe Brady at LSU if he wants a final crack at making it in the NFL. He has good speed if I remember correctly but he may be a good lotto ticket WR to bring in with some of the other WR types mentioned above. -
His current coach at Kansas (Leipold) was the UB coach so I’d hope the Bills have a good connection there to learn about him if they are interested.

I’m intrigued to see how a team utilizes Hunter next year and although he is probably outside of the Bills range I can dream here with you for a minute. 😀 On the bills I think I’d put him on a rotation at boundary cornerback (rotate series to play 50% of snaps), use him as a returner on special teams, and give him maybe 30% WR snaps - not the blocking role though, just real route running. I think it’d be fun to have a weapon like that on the bills.

Trubisky is an easy cut but I wonder if they keep him through the offseason and preseason. I think part of the allure for the bills to having vet QB backups is having them help organize offseason throwing sessions and such with the team, like when Davis Webb was on the team.

My fear after watching the Eagles D-line dominate the Super Bowl is multiple other teams will now be trying to add D-line talent in round 1 and wipe the round 1/2 grades before we get to pick 30 and the players that end up sliding are o-line or TE. I have a feeling this draft is going to be an odd one for the bills.

I’m not sure that I see the point in doing a deal with Cook before seeing his 2025 season. If he has another stellar season how much will his contract grow - maybe 1-2 million. But if he blows an ACL his deal will be half of what he is looking for now. The risk/reward here is not in the bills favor. Also, the franchise tag number for RB last year was 12 million - if you got to the end of 2025 and felt like you couldn’t live without James Cook you can tag him. 2 years of reasonable control still - then figure out the future at RB.

Free Agents we like for the 2025 Bills?

I’m intrigued by some of the value edge rushers that might be available: Josh Uche (KC) - 26 years Joseph Ossai (CIN) - 24 years Matthew Judon (ATL) - 32 years Spotrac estimates these guys will be 4 mil or less per year. I’d take a swing or 2 at guys like this in addition to adding more through the draft. -
Would You Consider Getting Tre if Cut By the Ravens ?
BlueRed replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall
He may bring value being our “Josh Norman” type on the practice squad but agree with the prior posts that our depth corners will need to be special teams contributors which isn’t Tre unfortunately. -
I’m hopeful that Cooper will make some impactful plays coming up this postseason but I don’t think the Bills should prioritize bringing him back next year. You can’t pay 15+ mil for receivers that disappear like he has.

I like Grable but find myself wondering what his Career path and growth look like from here. He’s a rookie which brings a lot of excitement but he is also already 25, and I wonder if he is what he is at this point - which is really good depth / spot starter. I’m glad he is on the team and in the mix but I don’t see the need to shake up the starters on the o line to get him on the field this year or next.
