Okay so do we need to trade Lee Evans now?
DCBongo replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Evans is a good player and a class act. PTR - you nailed it, Bills should do it for some draft pick(s) and because Lee deserves to be on a winning team. -
I'll bet Green finds a hidden immunity idol and will stay on the island for another week.

Good insight, nice to see you back!

2nd worst move by the Bills in my lifetime
DCBongo replied to Mister Defense's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
2-14 is optimistic, but lets be real, the team was going 2-14 with or without Lynch. Add this is his last year under contract, he does not like living in Buffalo and as a FA he will demand a large salary which the Bills cannot afford. So, lose him in Jan after the season or trade him now and get something for him. If we were a SB favorite, this would be a stupid move, since we suck, it is a good move. -
I wish someone in the media would...

If you're a sports reporter, you probably aren't also on the midterm election beat. Asking questions about the football team is their job. -
who would you root for if the Bills left

I'd be free of any NFL alliance and find more productive ways of spending my Sundays. Bills or Bust! -
I picked a good day to go on a hike.

We should have cleaned house after last season
DCBongo replied to jahnyc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't get how you change the coach, change the GM, but leave the scouts. I'll even give DJ a slight pass because he had to coach who the team drafted and they did a piss poor job for the past 5/6 years at least. Chan won't do any better unless they get some folks who can spot talent and attract some FA's. -
For all you veteran Bills fan...

Apparently some have forgotten about back to back 2-14 seasons in the early/mid 80's when SNL in spoofing the Super Bowl shuffle did the Bills and called in "Yeah, we're the Bills, and what are you looking at? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AU1M9wHpH6k -
In reading the pre-season stuff, many thought Wang was not quite ready for Sunday player. Did I read the wrong articles?

The fact is Lynch is a FA after this season and does not love living in Buffalo. Considering the needs of the team, the Bills cannot afford to resign Lynch. I say trade him to a good team if they can, get a 4th rd pick, thank him for his efforts and move on. Lynch is a solid RB and fun to watch in "beast mode". Since we are playing for the 1st pick in the draft, I say it worth trading him.

Nix needs to fire Mordak and the scouting staff and get some folks who might do a better job spotting talent.

I don't think TE cares at this point, but he is a professional, has class and wants to be on an NFL team. So, when you get benched you say the right things and don't become a distraction. TE has regressed since his first year, he no longer rolls out and throws down field. He ain't got it. But in his defense the only QBs who could experience success with this 3rd rate Oline is Doug Flutie or Fran Tarkington. This line could make Jimbo look bad. Let Fitz have some starts, then let BB have a few games and see if we have a Qb worth keeping on this team.

True, but it was great to beat the Giants with a Schloppy field goal

Serious question - What if the Bills leave town?
DCBongo replied to beggar13's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have been a Bills fan all my life even thought I have pretty much always lived in CT. My Dad is from Buffalo and passed the team down to his two kids. Like other, I like the Bills more than the NFL. If they left, I'd cry, sit Shiva, burn my Bills jerseys and try to figure out what to do with Sundays mid Sept through 1st week of Jan. I'd still watch the super bowl, for the commericals of course. -
Lets take another look at A.J. Hawk
DCBongo replied to Another Point of View's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
AJ Hawk is a high motor guy who comes from Ohio State. So long as there isn't some issues with his work ethic I say make the trade. Bills should trade folks like Lynch and Evans because we are terrible and will need bodies next year. Yes, without them we will be worse, but I think the team needs to be thinking next year already. -
Interesting game today (Bills v. Pack)
DCBongo replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Here is a good test for the Chan clan. GB is the better team and by all head-to-head match ups the Bills ought to get crushed. But football is as much a game of heart as it is of talent. If the team plays (especially the offense)like they they did against Miami then this will be not only a long season but an unwatchable one. I am looking for heart, for effort. I want to see the line take on blocks, I want TE to throw down field. I want the RB's to keep the legs moving after the first hit. I do not mind (okay I do mind but I have no expectations this year) if we lose, I just want to see some fight in the dog. -
Nix will be a failure if he doesn't get rid of Mordak and the rest of our scouts - they have lost their mojo and we need folks who can spot talent, not one hit wonders like Maybin.
-
Oline is terrible and the Dline gives Henne enough time to bake a cake. The team may be headed in the right direction, but they look worse than last year.
-
Love the NFL commercial with everyone grabbing their gear - Opening day is High Hopes! Lets knock down some rubber tree plants! Go Bills!
-
For the first time in about 5 years the team actually seems to be facing the right direction. I think Chan will be good for the team and I am looking forward to a coach who actually shows emotion. Of course if the lines doesn't open lanes for Spiller and TE turns back into Cpt. Checkdown we will all be singing a different tune on Monday.
-
Good call on TE cut, that was freaky
-
Here's what I do not understand, it was apparent the team was going with TE, BB or Fitz. The fact that TE looked promising 3 years ago, had an awful year last year and now shows promise should make ALL Bills fans cautiously happy. I am not say everyone should like Trent and lets face it, he has a bad year, he's gone. If he has a good year and the team is enjoyable to watch don't we ALL win? It going to be one or the other so lets hope he has improved under Chan.

I wouldn't change head coaches for anything.
DCBongo replied to DIE HARD 1967's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So far, its like a new attitude for the Bills, but I will reserve getting on the Chan wagon until the season when the team is sucking in the first half and I can see him make halftime adjustments. DJ was horrible at that and I would like to see a coaching staff that will. But so far, so good... and yelling at those damn kids is just awesome! -
Incompetence! ...oh, NEVERMIND.
DCBongo replied to Mark Long Beach's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If he is retiring then I will apologize for all the mean things I have said and thank him for playing hard on Bills teams that were hard to watch, let alone play for.
