You make it sound like Steponovich is in a wheelchair. The guy started in 04' but then he got some boo boos down the road.
-
- Alex Steponovich would cost the bills a 4th rnder to sign. - I think holcomb will return. If not, I don't think the Bills will draft a QB, I think they'd sign an old veteran who could teach JP a few things. - I don't think that suspension would really matter in the minds of most gms. The guy plays great on the field and seems pretty good off of it. - I think Terrance Pennington will start for years to come. - He is a FA, and one can dream.

********** A Marv Levy, Unpredictable Off-season********* Re-sign- Chris Kelsay (he wants to return and he is pretty good), Coy Wire (he is a very versatile vet), Mike Gandy (hopefully, he'll be pretty cheap, and he is one of the leaders of the offensive line), Anthony Thomas (good backup, with the type of heart Marv is looking for), Anthony Hargrove (this guy was another steal by Marv. He has more enthusiasm than most fans!), Jabari Greer (he provides good depth) Sign- WR Donte Stallworth (For some odd reason, I can't see him re-signing with Philly. He is the most talented FA WR and Marv will open up his wallet for this signing.) http://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/team/tea...ls.jsp?id=54249 OG Floyd Womack (All that interest in Womack from the previous offseasons will finally pay off. With the help of McNally, this 330ilb o-lineman will turn into a run blocking RG) http://www.seahawks.com/Team/Players.aspx?id=12870 DT Hollis Thomas (He may be getting up there in age, but the guy can play. He is a very balanced DT, he can stop the run and sack the quarterback. He will come in, teach his fellow DTs a few things, and play good on the field.) http://www.neworleanssaints.com/playerbio.cfm?playerid=360 FB Heath Evans (He'll be the Bills FB and hopefully he can spill some information about his former patriots) http://www.patriots.com/team/index.cfm?ac=...o&bio=31576 C Alex Steponovich (He started every game in his rookie year for the Cards before being plagued by injuries. He is now the backup for ARZ, but he has plenty of talent. This will be one RFA that Marv will actually sign (the Bills would lose a 4th rd pick). http://www.azcardinals.com/team/bio.php?PRKey=36 TE Visanthe Shiancoe (The guy is very good, too bad he is the back up to Shockey. He is a big TE (6'4 250) and he and royal will make a solid pair of TEs) http://www.giants.com/team/player.asp?player_id=47 DRAFT Rd.1) Patrick Willis LB MISS- This guy is arguably the best prospect entering the draft since Ray Lewis! http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingr...rickwillis.html Rd.2) Fred Bennett CB SC- He has tons of potential and is a workout warrior. He will come in and play NB from day one. http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingr...rickwillis.html Rd.3) Tony Hunt RB PSU- He is the biggest back (he runs a bit like Travis Henry) entering the draft and will be an insurance plan for Willis McGahee. http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingr...b/tonyhunt.html Rd.6) Travarous Bain CB HAMPTON- He is a stud corner from a small school. He is a project pick. http://www.hamptonpirates.com/roster.asp?p...=18&sport=1 Rd.7) Laurent Robinson ILLINOIS STATE- A tall (6'2) reciever who dominated in 1-AA football. http://www.sportsnetwork.com/merge/tsnform....aspx?pid=30070 Depth Chart QB- Losman, Nall, Holcomb RB- McGahee, Thomas, Hunt FB- Evans WR- Evans, Stallworth, Parrish, Price, Reed, Robinson TE- Royal, Shiancoe, Everett, Cieslak LT- Peters, Butler LG- Gandy, Reyes, Merz C- Steponovich, Fowler RG- Womack, Preston, Merz RT- Pennington, Butler LE- Kelsay/Hargrove/Denney DT- Thomas/Tripplett/Mccargo/Williams RE- Schobel, Hargrove LOLB- Spikes, Ellison, Stamer MLB- Willis, Haggan, DiGiorgio ROLB- Crowell, Ellison, Stamer CB- McGee, Youboty, Bennett, Greer, Bain FS- Simpson, Leonhard SS- Whitner, Bowen K- Lindell P- Moorman

Re-Sign- Mike Gandy (inexpensive and one of the leaders of the o-line), Anthony Hargrove (very young (23), extremely enthusiastic, and will continue to improve under Kollar), Duke Preston (young and he will continue to compete for that RG spot), Kiwaukee Thomas (a veteran with a lot of heart and impressed many this year), Anthony Thomas (plays with tons of heart and solid backup). Signings- DT Alfonso Boone (veteran, who was drafted under Jauron, and puts up decent numbers year in and year out. He would fit in nicely with the Bills DT rotation). http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/187496 CB Nick Harper (veteran, solid tackler, hard nosed player. This guy has Buffalo written all over him). http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/223763 RB Domic Rhodes (he will come in and take Willis's spot). http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/236986 OG Montrae Holland (young, very strong guard, who will compete for the RG spot). http://www.neworleanssaints.com/playerbio.cfm?playerid=93 TE Daniel Graham (solid blocker who can catch. He and Royal would make great two TE sets.) http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/302195 Draft ***Trade McGahee to NYG for their 2nd rd pick*** 1. Patrick Willis ILB- This guy is a beast on the field and a great guy off of it. http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingr...rickwillis.html 2a. Robert Meachem WR- A big WR that will play #2 alongside Lee Evans. http://utsports.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/m...m_robert00.html 2b. Justin Harell DT- A hard working, tough DT. Provides adequate depth at the DT position. http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingr...tinharrell.html 3. I wouldn't mind Fred Taylor, but he gurts hurt almost every time he gets tackled. How about trading Willis and signing Ladell Betts (or Dominic Rhodes)?
-
"As a result, word is the Bills have made the run defense a top priority this coming offseason. They’ll definitely be in the market for a run-stuffing defensive tackle, and it’s also likely that they will look to replace MLB London Fletcher with a bigger player." http://profootballweekly.com/PFW/The+Way+W...tm?mode=afceast Who is a run stuffing DT FA? Ian Scott? Terdell Sands?

same here... let's start this thing!

That is a genius idea!!! I think the petition should be either the old unis, the throwbacks, or new unis.

sounds like a good idea.

Rd.1- DeMarcus Tyler DT NC State(Trade DOWN, Pick up another 3rd rd pick) He is a "Tank" who can finally be the solid DT that will play alongside Tripplett. He is very strong and powerful (great run stuffer). http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingr...arcustyler.html Rd.2- Buster Davis LB FSU He is London Fletcher's minime. http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingr...usterdavis.html Rd.3- Manuel Ramirez OG Texas Tech A huge guard who could compete with Preston for the RG spot. http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingr...uelramirez.html Rd.3- Tony Hunt RB PSU I think he will be one of the steals of the draft. Joe Paterno said that he is the best RB talent that he has ever coached. This guy will be the replacement for Willis "Dancin'" McGahee. http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/scoutingr...b/tonyhunt.html Rd.4- Dallas Baker WR UF He is a "touchdown maker" and a tall reciever (6'3). Hopefully he can retain his status as a redzone threat in the NFL. http://www.gatorzone.com/football/bios.php...;bio=baker.html Rd.6- Le'Ron Mcclain FB ALA A good blocking Fullback with good hands. http://www.rolltide.com/ViewArticle.dbml?S...p;Q_SEASON=2006 Rd.7- Antonio Smith CB OSU He'll add depth to the CB position and join his fellow OSU alumns. http://ohiostatebuckeyes.cstv.com/sports/m..._antonio00.html

Damm right!!

That is exactly how I graded these guys. I tried to be as considerate as possible. Also, I think that McCargo will improve his game from the beginning of the year. In the beginning of the year he didn't do much. But most young DTs take a few years to develop, so look out for a better John McCargo in 07'08'.
-
After each season, the coaches of the Bills evaluate each player. Well, I'm going to evaluate each starter. I'll give each player a grade based on their performance this year. JP Losman- Losman gets an A for this year. He was a totally different quarterback from last year when he threw an interception to Troy Brown! JP is an extremely emotional guy and I think that is the type of leader the Bills need. I have a feeling that he is going to work very hard to improve his game and next year there will be a Buffalo Bills quarterback playing in Hawaii. PLAN- JP is the quarterback for years to come. Willis McGahee- Willis gets a C. He did not even reach 1000 yds this season. I hope that he is still not 100% from his injury in college because if this is the real Willis McGahee we've been watching, then we Bills fans may have a bit of a problem (I'd tell Drew Rosenhaus shove that long term deal up his a$$). Here is Willis' typical run: once he gets the ball from JP, he dances like he's RUN DMC to the hole. If the makes it past the hole (most of the time he gets tackled in there) anyone tackles him! I think I can break more tackles than Willis McGahee. The guy needs to show more heart in his runs! PLAN- I'd draft or sign an agile/speedy back like Leon Washington and give Willis one more season to show me what he's got. If he doesn't impress, I'd start the speedy back. If Willis impresses, I'd offer him a long term deal. Daimon Shelton- Daimon gets a C. He can block really well, but that is all he can do! I've seen more flying pigs than the amount of times that he has the ball in his hands! PLAN- Cut him and either start Cieslak (he's young and I think he could become a Chris Cooley type) or draft a balanced FB like Brian Leonard. Lee Evans- Lee gets an A. Not only is he great on the field, but he is also a great guy. He put up Moulds like numbers in his first year of being the number one target of an NFL team. If it wasn't for him, we'd all want JP to get the F%^K out of Buffalo. He caught about 31% of JPs completions and 8 of his 19 touchdown passes. Lee Evans makes it easy for us Bills fans to Forget about the beloved Eric Moulds. PLAN- Keep him as the #1 wide reciever. Peerless Price- I'd give Peerless a B. He didn't put up huge numbers, but he was the only veteran presence in the recieving corps. I'm sure he's taught all of the recievers a few things. I think is a decent player, but the Bills could use an upgrade at this position. PLAN- Draft a big reciever Day 1 (Dwayne Jarrett) or sign Drew Bennett. Robert Royal- I'd give Robert a B. He seems to be a team leader who has a lot of heart. He can block very well and he is not a bad recieving threat. PLAN- Sign a TE like E.Johnson/D.Graham/J.Stevens or draft a recieving TE. Next year the Bills could play with a lot of two TE sets. Jason Peters- I'd give this guy an A. I thank God every day that we re-signed him! He was the only steady and consistent player on the line. This guy is a top 5 LT in the NFL. PLAN- Keep him. Mike Gandy- I'd give him a C. He sucked at RT but he was decent at LG. According to JP, he is the leader of the o-line. PLAN- Try to pursue a better LG in Free Agency. If the Bills can't find another LG, then re-sign Gandy. Melvin Fowler- I'd give Melvin a B. He is another leader of the o-line. He is a little bit on the small side, so big DTs could have their way with him. At times he was solid and at times he was below-average. PLAN- Keep him, let him get another year with the system and McNally. RG- I'd give these MFer's an F. Chris Villariall is a China Doll who couldn't block his grandma. Duke "Swiss Cheese" Preston was supposed to be good, but he blew! I know that these guys had to help out pennington, but this position was definitely the weak spot of the line. PLAN- Cut Villarial and try to sign Diehlman/DeMulling/Diehl/Dockery/Steinbach. Terrance Pennington- I'd give him a B. For his rookie year, he really played well. He had some ups and downs and with the help of McNally, he will progress to be a pretty good player next year. PLAN- Keep him. Kelsay/Denney/Hargrove- I'd give these guys an A. They had a combined 12 sacks. Denney is a high motor guy who is everywhere (54 tackles). Kelsay is another high motor guy (5.5 sacks). I think Marv made an excellent move in getting Anthony Hargrove for only a 5th round pick! He is young (23), he works hard, and he is one of the most entusiastic players I have ever seen! I think this guy will be a stud for years to come. PLAN- Don't resign Kelsay, the Bills are fine with Hargrove and Denney. DT- I'd give these guys a C. Tripplett played well in his first year in the system. Kyle Williams is a very good player who is all over the place. Those two DTs are perfect for Bills Kollar and will only get better under his coaching. O yea...Tim Anderson blows. Lastly, John Mccargo will keep on getting better and hopefully next year he can step in and make an impact. PLAN- Draft a DT or sign Rod Coleman/Cory Redding. Aaron Schobel- I am as happy as a pig in shyt knowing that he will be a Bill for years to come. Each year, he continues to stockpile sacks. PLAN- Keep Him. Takeo Spikes- I'd give him an A (and I know a lot disagree with me). He just came off a torn achilles, so all off-season he was working his a$$ off. He never had any time to rest and recoup. So, he entered training camp sore and tired. He then hurt his hammy. But he battled through that and came back. His first few games were miserable. But week by week he progressed. In week 17, he led the team in tackles. PLAN- Keep him... Next year we'll see a Bigger, Faster, and Stronger Takeo Spikes. London Fletcher- Fletch gets an A. He is one of the most underrated players in the league. He is a leader of this unit and every season he countinues to lead the team in tackles. He is all over the field making tackles or athletic interceptions. PLAN- Re-Sign him and let him retire as a Bill. If he can't be re-signed, then pursue Boss Bailey/Lance Briggs/Randall Godfrey/Cato June/Adalius Thomas. Angelo Crowell- I'd give him an A. He played extremely well. He could come back as a beast of a linebacker next year. PLAN- Keep him. Nate Clements- He gets an A. This year he didn't have too many interceptions, because the opposing quarterbacks could never find the reciever he was covering. Three words... shut down cornerback. PLAN- Attempt to re-sign him. If not, sign Harper from Indi and hope Mcgee/Youboty/Thomas could take over as the number one corner. Terrence McGee- I'd give him a B. He is a great return man, and a good corner. This year he seemed to struggle a bit with Perry Fewell's scheme. But next year, he will know it more and become a mini Nate Clements. Donte Whitner- I'd give him an A. Not many rookie safeties could be in on 105 tackles. As he gets more and more experience, he will get more and more better. Also, Rich Gannon said he'll be a star (take it for what it's worth). PLAN- Keep Him. Ko Simpson- I'd give him an A. He is very athletic and with a year of experience under his belt, he will only get better. PLAN- Keep Him. He and Whitner will be one of the better safety combos in the NFL next year. Moorman and Lindell- They're great. PLAN- Keep them.

2003 replied to Oneonta Buffalo Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yea, I know. What the he!! is up with these other small market owners?!?!?! -
I would say that Marv Levy did an outstanding job this off-season. His signings were like Magic shows, nobody had any idea what was going to happen next! He signed so many guys that I wouldn't even recognize if they were slapping me in the face! None the less, all of these guys had something in common, they are great team players. Let's check out his signings: Robert Royal- I was shocked (and a little on the sad side) to see this guy as the Bills first signing of the off-season. But he has panned out to be quite the signing. He is a great locker room guy, a tremendous blocker, and he has been a pretty decent recieving threat. Andre Davis- He is another great team guy, he only has 1 catch this year!! But he is a special teams standout, he makes plays all over the field. Larry Tripplett- He was the Bills "major" signing this off-season, but no outsider would realize this. I'm not saying he has been a bust, I'm saying that he is just another one of the guys. Anthony Thomas- This guy couldn't even make an NFL squad, but Marv gave him a chance and signed him. What a signig he has been! He is a very solid compliment to Willis. Kiwaukee Thomas- When the Bills signed him, I thought he was just going to be a camp fodder. Well, I sure as he!! was wrong... I think this guy could start for us! Draft- Those two days were a very entertaining adventure. All of the so called "experts" ripped the Bills for taking Whitner. Well, those experts can kiss Marv's ars!! Did he have a psychic in the War Room ?? All of his picks (except Butler and Merz) have had signifant playing time! ** Like it or not, Marv has a very different approach to his signings. None of his signings have an ego or a "me, me, me, all me!" attitude. So, If Marv keeps on track with his signings this Buffalo Bills team may become a clone of the New England Patriots.

damn right!! F U, U NUMBNUTZ!!! Dick was the best thing for the Bills.
