  1. Good Stuff. I certainly am banking on Stroud being a stud and the cog of the Bills' defense. If his injury was still nagging him, I'm sure the Bills and their trainers would have picked up on it during their extensice and thorough research. The other d-tackles will prosper greatly with Stroud facing double teams too. I see this defense being a top-10 unit!
  2. Sad, his friends tried to stop him. Jeesh... RIP Terrence.
  3. Yea, I'm a Mets fan, too, and ya know what, I'm not mad at all about this. I was actually a little disappointed they managed to pull out a victory yesterday. I mean let's face it, this team is not half as good as you or I thought they'd be, and the sooner the Wilpons realize this, the sooner they will make the necessary changes. The Mets aren't going anywhere this year and they need to make some major blow ups. In fact, if the team keeps losing, I can almost guarantee that Willie or Omar will be canned some time within the next week or so. I'd hate to say this, but I'm kind of hoping that they go on a long losing streak so they become sellers at the all-star break and trade away some of their highly-paid, malcontent bums (Beltran, yes he is heating up, but the dude has no passion for the game, Wagner, he has been blowing, but he is generally lights out, and needs to go). This team needs to instill some youth and passion in to its clubhouse!!
  4. good point... correction made.
  5. QB TRENT EDWARDS- Trent seems to be the future of the Bills at quarterback. Some Bills fans seem to be split between who should be the starting quarterback for our beloved Bills. Well, Trent Edwards is going to be the guy this year and many more for just one reason---intelligence. Both Edwards and Losman have the physical tools, heck, Losman may even have a "stronger" arm, but Edwards has Losman on all of the intangibles. Number 5 is smart, humble, and a superb leader. A prime example of this is both of their rookie years. During Losman's first training camp, he struck the veterans as a cocky rookie. We all know what happened next. During Trent's rookie year, all the first year quarterback did was impress. I even remember the day after the draft I vowed to myself to always respect Losman thinking that Edwards had no chance to steal the starting spot. Well, the more I saw of the two guys, the more I liked Trent. JP may have the power to throw the ball 70 yards through the air, but the dude just makes some stupid mistakes; he drops snaps, botches handoffs, fumbles the ball left and right, and, when under pressure, Losman tries to do too much. Edwards is the antithesis of Losman. The guy is cool and collective and does just what he needs to. When Trent faces pressure, he either completes a pass or throws the ball away. Yes, Trent may have thrown more interceptions than touchdowns last year, but I blame two things: his target's talent level and Steve Fairchild. A few of Edward's interceptions bounced of either the hands or the shoulder pads of his intended target (see Kawika Mitchell's td against the Bills). A few of his other interceptions are just a result of some boneheaded calls from the infamous Steve Fairchild. One play, regrettably, I think I will never forget. It was a Monday Night, against America's team, and the Bills had the ball in the red zone on a third down. Instead of just running to victory (literally, if they would have handed the ball off, Lindell could have just kicked a FG the next down and the Bills would have basically secured the game), Fairchild calls a pass play and Edwards threw an interception to Terrence Newman. This year, with more talent around Numero Cinco, things will change. Here is a quote from the USA today that really got me liking Trent: "ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Trent Edwards got veteran tight end Robert Royal's attention - and respect - the minute the rookie Buffalo Bills quarterback stepped into the huddle during practice Wednesday. "First thing he said was, 'Fellas, let's go! No balls hitting the ground in 7-on-7 today,"' Royal said. "Coming from him, it kind of threw me off, like 'Whoa, hold up. That's what I need to hear."' The pep talk worked, because Royal can't remember a pass falling incomplete during the session..." RB outlook to come soon.
  6. they trade down, pick up a few more picks, and take TE Martin Rucker.
  7. Well, I guess that's not so bad, but now the anticipation is going to be incredible. For some fans, it is almost impossible to wait until noon, now we have to wait until three! This is horrendous.
  8. I, for one, am deeply disappointed with the league for moving the draft to 3. Why in the world did this happen?! Now we have to wait until around 6 to see who the Bills draft, this is horrible! Here's a link: Holy Hell!
  9. Here is my 2008-2009 schedule prediction. Wk.1- WIN Wk.2- WIN Wk.3- WIN Wk.4- WIN Wk.5- WIN Wk.6- WIN Wk.7- WIN Wk.8- BYE Wk.9- WIN Wk.10- WIN Wk.11- WIN Wk.12- WIN Wk.13- WIN Wk.14- WIN Wk.15- WIN Wk.16- WIN Wk.17- WIN 16-0, BABY!!
  10. I pray to god it won't happen again this year. The Bills seem to have the worst luck on opening day. JAX- Ernest Wilford, DEN- KE/ Blown Lead, NE- Blown Lead, NYJ- Damn you Chad Morton.
  11. Thanks, I am not sure on Devin Thomas. The guy's stock is skyrocketing, but I'm not sure how good he is. He has had only 1 good year and he dropped 7 passes in one game. I know he has loads of talent, but I just don't want the Bills to draft what could be the next Troy Williamson. I'm not saying that Devin Thomas will be like that bust, but if he does not develop correctly, he could. I do like his size, speed, and YAC ability, though.
  12. LMAO, I consider the draft Christmas because we will be getting 10 free gifts. Tell me that aint sweet!
  13. What defensive position would you go with? If the Bills were to draft Derrick Harvey, I think that would totally screw up their DE rotation. A first round DE should get more playing time than Hargrove got, but if Harvey got more playing time than Hargrove, he'll totally mess up the Denney/Schobel/Kelsay rotation. I mean, the Bills have shelled out some major dough for those three guys and if they were to draft a DE in rd. 1, they'd totally be contradicting themselves. Would you go with a CB in round 1? The cover two doesn't really require shut down CBs like Natedogg and the Bills got themselves some much needed size when they signed William Peterson James.
  14. Thank you very much, I'd take a guy like Rattay any day of the week. I think the Bills are stacked at linebacker now that they have DiGiorgio and Ellison on the bench.
  15. 1. WR LIMAS SWEED TEXAS Many fans, including myself, wanted the Bills to trade for Roy Williams. I know that this rumor was just a pipe dream, but the drafting of Limas Sweed totally relinquishes that dream. Limas Sweed is extremely similar to Roy Williams when coming out of college: they're both big recievers, Williams ran a 4.42, whereas Sweed ran a 4.46 forty, they are both gym rats and have excellent work ethics. Sweed is head and shoulders above the rest of wide reciever the class character wise; Malcolm Kelly supposedly has a poor work ethic, Mario Manningham is an official member of the RWPHA (Ricky Williams Pot Head Association), and James Hardy allegedly beat his (ex)girlfriend and baby. Here are a few quotes from the Pro Football Weekly draft magazine regarding Sweed: "Has consistenly produced big plays in the clutch. Excellent work ethic- is very driven." "...in a league of prima donna recievers, he is surprisingly humble and very hard working." Its seems to me that the only knock on the guy is his wrist. If he didn't get hurt this year, he may have been a top 10 or top 5 pick. In all seriousness, how many players' careers go into shambles because they have a hurt wrist? I would of had the Bills trading down with a team like Philly or Houston, but I'm trying to keep this mock as realistic as possible. 2. S/CB REGGIE SMITH OU The Bills need depth at both of the positions that Reggie Smith plays; CB and FS. He is tough as nails and will knock any reciever's block off. Reggie Smith would be the second Bills corner taller than 6 feet (Will James). He visited here earlier in the year with Malcolm Kelly, so the Bills have some real interest in this guy. His timed speed isn't the greatest (4.6 range), but Reggie Smith is superbly quick. In 13 games last year, Smith recorder 78 tackles, 14 pass break ups, and 3 interceptions. Smith could shore up two spots and potentially become a kick returner. 3. TE MARTELLUS BENNETT TEXAS A&M Bennett is a superb athlete. He applied for the NBA draft last year and was given a second round grade. There is a video on Youtube of the guy dunking a basketball over one of his coaches with ease. Bennett has the size (6'5 250), the hands, and the blocking ability to become the Bills' version of Antonio Gates. 4a. OC JOHN SULLIVAN NOTRE DAME Sullivan was a four year starter at Notre Dame and had a 138-6 career record as a prep wrestler. The guy could probably wrangle with the best of them in the NFL. He weighed in at 301 at the combine and he has some decent strength. Sullivan would compete with Melvin Fowler for the starting center spot and he will allow Duke Preston to move back to guard where he belongs. 4b. FB OWEN SCHMITT WVU 6. DE DORIAN SMITH OREGON STATE 7a. OT TYLER POLUMBUS COLORADO 7b. QB NICK HILL SOUTHERN ILLINOIS 7c. WR MARCUS HENRY KANSAS
  16. Here's a mock with only 4 correct picks! Tell me this doesn't prove the draft is a total crap (hehehehe I typed "crap") shoot. 1. Oakland Raiders - JaMarcus Russell, QB, LSU Been saying Russell since January so I'm not changing my mind now. Though I think it's ridiculous to get a quarterback who excels at downfield throws and then put him behind a line that's easier to get through than a condom that's gone through a blender. 2. Detroit Lions - Joe Thomas, OT, Wisconsin It's not that I'm backing off from my Detroit-Atlanta trade (though I think I'm the only one pimping it right now). I just don't think that Matt Millen is intelligent or competent enough to maneuver any sort of deal out of this spot and still land the player they desperately need (Brady Quinn). After several busts in free agency the offensive line is still a wreck. This is a very safe pick. 3. Cleveland Browns - Adrian Peterson, RB, Oklahoma I was at a bar when I heard about Reuben Droughns being traded and the first thought that went through my head was, "Man, our waitress' chest is HUGE. Are those real?" My second thought was, "Now I gotta listen to all these dumbass Giants fans tell me how good Droughns is for six months." My third thought: "I guess that means the Browns want Adrian Peterson." 4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Calvin Johnson, WR, Georgia Tech This may even put a smug smile on Chucky Gruden's face. It will definitely be enough to make Johnson roll up a fat joint and go to work. Oh, and pencil Johnson in for 175 and two touches in Week 7 in Detroit. That may also be the day that Ford Field gets burned to ashes. 5. Arizona Cardinals - Gaines Adams, DE, Clemson The Cardinals will be screwed if this is what they end up with because they desperately need an offensive lineman or some bulk on the D-line. The best-case scenario is that the Lions don't take Thomas and he falls here. Unless Gruden decides to be a dick and grab JT. Ken Whisenhunt isn't sure if he wants to go with a 4-3 or a 3-4, but Adams can rush the passer in either set. 6. Washington Redskins - Laron Landry, S, LSU The Skins ditched Cyber Archuleta and sent Troy Vincent back to the Smithsonian. Landry fills a need and is the best secondary player in the draft. Also, since he's been in Louisiana for the past two years he's probably had some experience with automatic weapons. That should endear him to Sean Taylor. 7. Minnesota Vikings - Brady Quinn, QB, Notre Dame In the, "Um, OK" Pick that happens in the Top 10 every year the Vikings will snag Mel Kiper Jr.'s wet dream. Allegedly the Vikings are still high on Tarvaris Jackson. But that's why they're the Vikings. Either way, as a Bears fan I couldn't be happier at the prospect of facing either QB twice a year for the next few seasons. 8. Atlanta Falcons - Amobi Okoye, DT, Louisville The Falcons are hoping that the Skins grab a D-lineman and that Landry falls. If not, Bobby Petrino selects a kid he's familiar with. Okoye's rookie hazing will include cleaning Ron Mexico's bong and reciting lines from "Half Baked" on cue. 9. Miami Dolphins - Jamal Anderson, DE, Arkansas It would be tough to pass on Levi Brown here and I'm not really sure if Cam Cameron would do that. But their defensive line is full of guys that would get the senior citizen discount at Disneyworld. Anderson is a beast and would be a nice building block for the defense. 10. Houston Texans - Levi Brown, OT, Penn State Though I do have it down in this mock I think it would be a minor upset if Brown made it past Atlanta and Miami. He'd be a strong pickup for the Texans who, after the Matt Schaub trade, don't pick again until roughly 2011. If Brown is gone you can pencil in Leon Hall. 11. San Francisco - Alan Branch, DT, Michigan After watching Branch break dance - including a rad pike freeze - in an ESPN feature on him I'm convinced he should be a Top 10 pick. However, his stock is dropping as his waist expands. Now instead of talking about his sweet moves they're talking about his Bust Potential. Would love to see San Fran get a wideout here but I don't think it's going to happen. 12. Buffalo Bills - Patrick Willis, LB, Ole Miss With London Fletcher gone and TKO Spikes on his way out the Bills have a huge hole here. Fortunately Willis excels at filling holes (try to ignore how pornographic that sounds) and would be a very strong get for Buffalo. 13. St. Louis Rams - Leon Hall, CB, Michigan This would be somewhat of a coup if the Rams land a guy projected in the Top 10. I would love to see St. Louis ignore their overmatched defense and grab Ted Ginn but I think Jim Haslett would spear Scott Linehan if that happened. 14. Carolina Panthers - Reggie Nelson, S, Florida The B word-O-Meter will be off the charts if the Panthers don't grab TE Greg Olsen for Jake Delhomme. And even though the Panthers have a desperate need for linebackers they will improve their defense more by getting Mike Minter off the field than getting Nelson on it. 15. Pittsburgh Steelers - Adam Carriker, DE, Nebraska I don't really get the buzz around Carriker, who strikes me as kind of a boring pick. But he has versatility and can play a few different spots in the 3-4. He'll likely fill in for Joey Porter, who at this moment is most likely heckling and throwing pickles at Levi Jones' kids. 16. Green Bay Packers - Marshawn Lynch, RB, California As much as I would love to see them address some defensive issues they have a tremendous need at running back. I'm sure Lynch will love it in Wisconsin. Honest. 17. Jacksonville Jaguars - Jarvis Moss, DE, Florida Moss would get to stay in Florida - always a plus for a guy to stay in the state he made his name in - and he would be an excellent compliment to Reggie Hayward. I'll go on record saying Ted Ginn Jr. would be perfect here - but they won't take him. 18. Cincinnati Bengals - Lawrence Timmons, LB, Florida State This is a bit high for a guy who only had one year as a starter under his belt before leaving early. But he is nasty. He hasn't had any "character issues" yet, which may drop him off Cincy's screen. But he did go to FSU and that's a great school for learning how to develop a criminal record. 19. Tennessee Titans - Ted Ginn Jr., WR, Ohio State This is that pick that gets up to the podium in about 2.2 seconds. The Commissioner might not even be done reading the Bengals' selection when the Titans fly up to the podium and hand in their card. Ginn fits a big need for a kick returner and gives Vince Young a playmaker to go to now that Drew Bennett and Bobby Wade have taken their high-flying, thrill-a-minute skills elsewhere. 20. New York Giants - Paul Posluzny, LB, Penn State As my good friend Nolan, a Giants fan and former gambling addict said about the G-Men when I was informing him of the anal raping his team is going to take in Soldiers Field this season: "If we don't draft a LB in the first round I won't be watching that game." 21. Denver Broncos - John Beason, LB, Miami Now that Al Wilson is a cripple the Broncos are short a linebacker. D.J. Williams is awesome and he's a Miami product so I see Denver going back to the well. If they don't go for an LB I say they grab their highest-rated wideout. 22. Dallas Cowboys - Joe Staley, OT, Eastern Michigan Right now the Cowboys have Marc Columbo and Flozell Adams as their offensive tackles. Not good, and no chance you're getting 16+ starts out of both next season. The Boys have picked nothing but defenders in the first round since 1997 but now they have a Golden Boy at QB that they might want to protect. 23. Kansas City Chiefs - Dwayne Bowe, WR, LSU This is pretty much the best-case scenario for the Chiefs. Bowe is high on a lot of Wish Lists and could be a potential steal. Or he could be the next Snoop Minnis. Who knows? The Chiefs could use a corner here but I think they address their woeful wideout situation with either Bowe or Robert Meachem. 24. New England Patriots - Michael Griffin, S, Texas This is a bit of a reach here (only by a few slots) but also a savvy move by the Pats front office because they know that Philadelphia needs a safety and Griffin won't be around for NE's next pick. Griffin is just a player, and a winner, so he'll fit right in. 25. New York Jets - Greg Olsen, TE, Miami It's going to be awfully tough to lay off one of the top corners still on the board. But they're getting really good value here on a potential big-time playmaker. Jets tight ends tallied just 37 catches last year while some other big-mouthed ex-Miami TE across the city stole a headline or two. 26. Philadelphia Eagles - Darelle Revis, CB, Pittsburgh The Eagles will have gotten kicked in the nuts if Bowe and Griffin get taken right in front of them. I know that a lot of teams have Aaron Ross rated ahead of Revis but I think Philly stays in-state and takes a guy they're familiar with… After you finish this NFL article check out our Eliminator Pools page. New Orleans Saints - Chris Houston, CB, Arkansas …And as a result the Saints end up with the top corner (in my view) on the board. The Saints corners are still having nightmares about Bernard Berrian. I'm still having nightmares about Rex Grossman. 28. New England Patriots - Aaron Ross, CB, Texas They need a linebacker, and a defensive lineman never hurt. But I think they grab Ross as insurance for the whole Asante Samuel situation. 29. Baltimore Ravens - Ben Grubbs, OG, Auburn This guy is big, bad, and mean. He'll fit right in. USC center Ryan Kalil is an option here but I think they take the more thuggish of the two. 30. San Diego Chargers - Robert Meachem, WR, Tennessee The Chargers need wideouts and would get a solid one here. And by "need wideouts" I just mean that LT gets sick of high-fiving the guys that the Chargers have now after he scores. He's looking for a new pair of hands to slap and Meachem's are a pretty good size. 31. Chicago Bears - Justin Harrell, DT, Tennessee As much as I'd love to see my boys grab a wideout or see a stud OLB I think getting Harrell would be sweet. The guy is an animal and played a game with his bicep hanging off the bone. Alfonso Boone is gone, Ian Scott has one foot out the door and Tank is in jail. Things aren't looking so hot on the D-line right about now. We still need OL, WR, and LB (in that order) but we'll address that later. 32. Indianapolis Colts - Tank Tyler, DT, Indianapolis The Colts were a bit soft up front from September to December before tightening up in the playoffs. But they lost Montae Reagor to free agency and Corey Simon is off the reservation, so they're now extremely thin up front.
  17. Holy He!!, I think Old Al is trying to make one more run at having a good team. What a cornerback combo they have now! Too bad their coach still wears diapers!
  18. HAHAHAHA.... I wonder what percentage of the sports world actually knows anything about the Bills?
  19. I could really see the Bills draft Aqib. Why do you feel the Bills need a DT this early? The Bills seem to have some pretty decent depth at the position now: Stroud + McCargo, Williams, Johnson, and Jefferson.
  20. Man does that mock draft look impressive. The only reason why I didn't have the Bills drafting a DE early is because I feel their pass rush will be back to the above average norm. Marcus Stroud will be double teamed 9 plays out of 10, which gives McCargo, Schobel, and Kelsay one less guy to beat. Also, you know Kelsay wants to live up to his contract, so he will continue to get better. I feel as though he (and John McCargo) will have a break out year next year. AND, the Bills will be blitzing quite more often this year, too. Teams won't always have 3rd and shorts like they did last year. With the acquisition of Kawika Mitchell and Poz coming back, expect the Bills run defense to be vastly improved, causing opposing offenses to face way more third and longs.
  21. 1.) Trade #11 to HOU for #18 and their 3rd. (HOU drafts R.Mendenhall) WR Devin Thomas The Bills really like this guy, and so do I. He's got the size, the speed, and the yac. The guy gives the Bills much needed physicality at the WR position, and he'd be able to juke the snot out of those malcontents that we call the opposing AFC East Defensive Backs! He is also one of the few good wide reciever prospects that come from a cold environment. http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/devin-thomas?id=1036 2.) CB Terrell Thomas He may not have the greatest speed, but he sure can hit. He would fit in perfectly for the Bills' cover-2 scheme. He played it at USC and really excelled. http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/terrell-thomas?id=326 3a.) C Mike Pollack The guy is a beast of a center who would compete with Fowler for the starting gig. http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/mike-pollak?id=294 3b.) WR Jordy Nelson How is this guy not a projected first round pick? He had over 100 catches last year, he ran a 4.5 forty, and he is 6'3. This guy will be one of the steals of the draft. http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/jordy-nelson?id=1032 4.) TE John Carlson http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/john-carlson?id=1966 5.) FB Owen Schmitt http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/owen-schmitt?id=312 6.) S Jamie Silva http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/jamie-silva?id=316 7a.) DE Jeremy Thompson http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/jeremy-thompson?id=2317 7b.) OT Tyler Polumbus http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/tyler-polumbus?id=836
  22. I totally disagree. I remember hearing that Sydney Rice could be a total bust (but I think he'll be decent) and Pittman is vastly underrated.
  23. I go to a very reliable draft source (nfldraftcountdown.com) and pick the players at or below the Bills pick in their mock draft.
  24. Thank you very much.
  25. That corn from a jar one is hilarious. Superman wears Justin Harell pajamas. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA LMAO!
