  1. Maybe best news of the day. I'm a big Ty Johnson fan. He can be a 3 down back you can trust.
  2. Floyd immediately signed with Atlanta
  3. I like this a lot. One year deal. He's 29 and still effective except for his injury history. I think we'll get at least as much from Bosa as we got from Miller on a much less onerous contract. If he gets injured again, not big deal. Realistically this is all the Bills can ask for, they really can't get a Hendrickson level guy inside their cap.
  4. I would love to see a healthy Cooper back on an incentive laden deal, maybe two years with some guarantees in the first. He certainly has / had the traits and the history, plus his attitude and professionalism is first rate. That would allow us to really go all defense to start with in the draft and take a stab or two at receiver in the later rounds. This is not the ideal year for early round WRs.
  5. It's a bummer. Hope Palmer works out because their stats haven't been all that different.
  6. Didn't Benford start his first year? I'm old, I honestly can't recall. Also I believe the Eagles had two rookie corners this year. Their season worked out ok.
  7. Good deal for the Bills and the Jets 😁
  8. If he's a man beater, I like it. Sign Hollins back up. He can catch, block, and has attitude.
  9. This is the right move. Draft and maybe FA, but I'm not holding my breath on FA. Three years ago, signing an older elite edge rusher such as Von was seemed like a good idea, but time and his injury history just made the cost too high for the risk. It didn't work. Here is something to rile you up. Was the Bills defense better with Von or with Jerry Hughes? Don't make this mistake again.
  10. Just love $20M/year for Robins
  11. Locking in those pretty good players is what Beane excels at. I sure hope he was injured last year because I didn't see much to make me think he'll make much difference going forward. It helped when Milano came back. I hope he greatly exceeds my expectations. But I think we just got another Oliver style contract squared away: undersized and pretty good at a kinda sizable number. The difference with the Brown contract is RT is probably an even more technically demanding position that you get better at as you learn, and Brown is a physical beast with an attitude. Bernard will never be a beast unless he starts playing safety or something.
  12. Give me a GM who can draft either one.
  13. In addition to a bigger and better 1T, we need a bigger MLB with range.
  14. I wish it was only one, but we need at least two more difference makers. Cripes, the Eagles may win the SB and they have two rookie CBs. A dominant DL either through the draft or FA. Then a standout LB or DB. It'll be difficult. I actually think Cooper is a legit boundary WR but I'm not sure Brady can scheme him open. We definitely need the wide receiver we thought we drafted last year.
  15. He is deserving. If you take him away, the Bills would be pretty lost. Now let's upgrade the supporting cast.
  16. Normally I agree, but Washington this year definitely made it well past league average. I'm not sure about Drake Maye, but its possible.
  17. I had some friends over for that game. We barbecued while watching the Bills kill the Raiders. I left feeling rather confident about the super bowl. I rewatched the game last week for the first time. The Raiders QB was spraying the ball.all I've the place and Lofton was awesome. Norwood, well, you could tell.
  18. That might get us over the hump. I'll be very surprised if Crosby gets moved however.
  19. I desperately wish I could agree with you, but let us look at who was on the 88 team: Kelly, Thomas, Reed, Hull Smith, Bennett, Talley All elite in my book, multiple difference makers and HoF. In addition you had Ritcher, Metzelaars, Conlan, Odomes, the list goes on. Unfortunately, the 88 team had waaaay more talent.
  20. This captures my thoughts almost exactly. I like the term "difference maker". These are players that can take over a game and have to be specifically game planned against. Allen is the only one we have. The Chiefs have three. To me, elite is the same as very good. I think Benford and Cook are very good. Cook really looked great in the AFCCG. Taron Johnson has stepped back a bit and Milano has not quite made it back to where he was pre-injury. Dawkins and Brown are close enough that I'll call them very good. We need difference makers, especially on defense and at WR, and the best way to get them is via the draft. A FA difference maker is crazy difficult and expensive to get. Von's contract and subsequent injury and lack of production is an excellent example of how difficult is, although you could argue Saquon Barkley and Derrick Henry showed it is possible.
  21. No. Give him at least one more year, and if it don't improve get rid of everybody (which I doubt will happen). The safety situation was shaky at best though Rapp was ok most of the time. CBs can't really play man, that's not Babich's fault. And it's the way to play KC. LBs are quick but undersized and both starters were out of position too much most of the year pre-Milano. I don't think that's all coaching. DL needs size and talent upgrade. Need a great defense heavy draft and some luck with FA signings.
  22. I was just about to make almost this same post. Look up his career if you want some depressing reading. Schottenheimer never could get over the hump.
  23. Go fishing and then take a multi-week overseas vacation in February. It's good to be retired! Folks under 40 - it'll be ok. With an average life expectancy you may see a Bills super bowl in your lifetime. Yesterday wasn't so bad for me, maybe a 4/10. 13 seconds was about 8/10 because for a moment I actually thought the Bills would win. Super Bowl 25 was at least a 10/10. Maybe 14/10. It was rough. I was going to tell the story here if the Bills had won yesterday. I hope to get the chance someday.
  24. I agree. All this is just venting of frustration.
