Good player. Maybe our best on defense but has had availability issues. Struggles with man coverage unfortunately but a good deal for all.

This signing somewhat boggles the mind but I do think it means they are not drafting a QB this year. That makes sense since the QB talent is meh in the draft. Plus they need to win this year. They don't have to make the playoffs, but they need to have a chance to sniff .500 for Schoen and Dabolls to stay employed. Wilson is somewhat competent except he has major sack issues. Do the Giants have an OL? Here's a question for ya: who would you rather have as your backup QB: Trubisky, Wilson, or Winston?

That's a LOT of money for someone his age coming off an injury. Good for him. If he can get healthy he'll really help Maye.

AFC Championship Game- How do you feel now about it?
notpolian replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Totally over it emotionally. KC getting whacked in the SB and the Allen MVP is nice. I still feel the defense needs major work, but the offense has not come through in the clutch two years in a row now. The offense generally plays well in the playoffs and against KC early in the games. Overall it's the same theme for me: we struggle against tight man coverage and we don't have the talent to play tight man coverage, and we don't have enough pass rush. -

Out of pocket almost all day, just saw this. All I gotta say is "that's just f****** great". -
Could do far worse

If Spector is even on the roster next year, we have a problem.

Finally. It'll be amusing if he gets playing time and is decent in Dallas.

RB Ty Johnson Re-Signed - 2 Year Deal

Maybe best news of the day. I'm a big Ty Johnson fan. He can be a 3 down back you can trust. -

I like this a lot. One year deal. He's 29 and still effective except for his injury history. I think we'll get at least as much from Bosa as we got from Miller on a much less onerous contract. If he gets injured again, not big deal. Realistically this is all the Bills can ask for, they really can't get a Hendrickson level guy inside their cap. -
I would love to see a healthy Cooper back on an incentive laden deal, maybe two years with some guarantees in the first. He certainly has / had the traits and the history, plus his attitude and professionalism is first rate. That would allow us to really go all defense to start with in the draft and take a stab or two at receiver in the later rounds. This is not the ideal year for early round WRs.

It's a bummer. Hope Palmer works out because their stats haven't been all that different.

Didn't Benford start his first year? I'm old, I honestly can't recall. Also I believe the Eagles had two rookie corners this year. Their season worked out ok.

QB Justin Fields to the Jets as per Tom Pelisserro
notpolian replied to RiotAct's topic in The Stadium Wall
Good deal for the Bills and the Jets 😁 -
If he's a man beater, I like it. Sign Hollins back up. He can catch, block, and has attitude.

This is the right move. Draft and maybe FA, but I'm not holding my breath on FA. Three years ago, signing an older elite edge rusher such as Von was seemed like a good idea, but time and his injury history just made the cost too high for the risk. It didn't work. Here is something to rile you up. Was the Bills defense better with Von or with Jerry Hughes? Don't make this mistake again.

Greg Rousseau Extended (4 years / 80M / 54M Guaranteed)

Just love $20M/year for Robins -
Locking in those pretty good players is what Beane excels at. I sure hope he was injured last year because I didn't see much to make me think he'll make much difference going forward. It helped when Milano came back. I hope he greatly exceeds my expectations. But I think we just got another Oliver style contract squared away: undersized and pretty good at a kinda sizable number. The difference with the Brown contract is RT is probably an even more technically demanding position that you get better at as you learn, and Brown is a physical beast with an attitude. Bernard will never be a beast unless he starts playing safety or something.

Poll: Would you rather have 1000yds & 10TDs or 13 Sacks & 10 TFLs?

Give me a GM who can draft either one. -
Defensive Tackle: Is it the Players or the System?

In addition to a bigger and better 1T, we need a bigger MLB with range. -
What Position in Free Agency Puts Buffalo Over the Top?
notpolian replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall
I wish it was only one, but we need at least two more difference makers. Cripes, the Eagles may win the SB and they have two rookie CBs. A dominant DL either through the draft or FA. Then a standout LB or DB. It'll be difficult. I actually think Cooper is a legit boundary WR but I'm not sure Brady can scheme him open. We definitely need the wide receiver we thought we drafted last year. -
He is deserving. If you take him away, the Bills would be pretty lost. Now let's upgrade the supporting cast.

Ahhh the Good Old Days…… different world. 1990 Bills vs Raiders
notpolian replied to The 9 Isles's topic in The Stadium Wall
I had some friends over for that game. We barbecued while watching the Bills kill the Raiders. I left feeling rather confident about the super bowl. I rewatched the game last week for the first time. The Raiders QB was spraying the ball.all I've the place and Lofton was awesome. Norwood, well, you could tell.
