  1. I broadly agree with most of the OP points. What you have to be careful about with the AAV argument on contracts is that two edge rushers getting $20M per year don't add up to one true difference maker getting $40/ year. You can have 6 decent defensive linemen at $20M/ year and it doesn't add up to one true difference maker imo. (Obviously this is impossible with the cap, and you need depth). You have to have a couple real stars, and we just don't have them on defense at all. Benford is solid. I have hope for Bishop. It's too soon to say with Hairston. I keep hearing how good Rousseau is against the run but we normally suck against the run. Oliver comes and goes and we still get run over. Bernard looks like an albatross contract right now. Milano is getting old. I just don't think Beane can judge talent well, and he has got the team into a tight cap situation with only two difference makers (Allen, Cook). The WR argument has has been beaten to death. If it was me, I would reset this offseason. It would be risky, but we have a window to win it all and it'll shut if you don't do something soon. The current regime has run its course.
  2. Bills 26 Bengals 35 Both defenses are bad. We have almost no pass rush without Bosa, so Burrow will carve us up with his excellent WRs while Brady calls five Cook rushes in a row. We fall way behind by halftime and have to open it up in the second half. It's in Buffalo but Burrow knows he owns this team. I hope I'm dead wrong.
  3. Cincinnati is going to score many points. IMO the Bills can't afford to play grind it out on the ground because they just won't be able to score enough. Not every drive will be successful. The Bengals are vulnerable in the middle downfield. But I fully expect the Bills to grind it out and have to to try come back when Burrow and their receivers light us up. The Steelers QBs were terrible last week. It ain't going to be like that this week.
  4. This is classic logic vs fandom problem for me. I totally agree it helps the Bills if KC to wins. But I really would enjoy KC missing the playoffs. Seems like maybe a no lose situation if you look at it the right way. 🤔
  5. 5 plays in a row to Cook. Bailed out by Allen on 4th down. Jhtdc.
  6. Pittsburgh 27 Bills 24 Maybe the Bills have a better game plan. I'm not optimistic.
  7. Offensive coordinator is the big need IMO. You can change out receivers all you want.
  8. I know I do. But at least I wasn't the OP. It's more of a LOL right now to be honest.
  9. I'd like to point out that Jim Kelly called his own plays at the LOS, often in a hurry up mode, seldom with a huddle. Of course they didn't need to run too many different plays because they were so good. Those 5 Cook runs in a row are the thing that irritates me the most about the Houston game. It's just incompetence. But Allen also needs to know that he should either audible out of dumb calls or call timeout in those high leverage situations. He is the most important guy in this entire organization. He has that latitude and responsibility.
  10. We have decent backup offensive linemen
  11. Bernard is no big loss. Brown is a bummer. I've torn up my shoulder via sublux and dislocation. It hurts, especially with reaching, which an OL does every stinking play.
  12. It's Brady, but that means it's also McDermott. Brady demonstrated again last night that he is just not up to the job. This entire staff has run its course but with Pegula seemingly 99% clueless, I don't know that it'll ever change. Sigh.
  13. This is my fear and I think is basically 100% correct. It could be some dark times.
  14. I think the betting world overvalues the Bills and so the lines are often not realistic. The causal fan gets excited when Allen goes off and those that were not paying attention thought this was going to be an easy game. Houston has a darn good defense and excellent defensive coaching. Our offensive coaching and play calling isn't great and Allen's bad habit of holding onto the ball too long is the exact wrong thing to do against Houston. I agree the Miami loss was a whole 'nother story, as was the Falcons to a good degree. This team is tired and lacks talent, it's that simple to me. I hope they can get something around Allen eventually but I'm not that optimistic. This year could easily go south with all the road games coming up.
  15. I still like to watch games but it's a lot less fun than when Daboll was OC and we had a passable defense. I looked forward to the offense getting on the field. "I wonder what they'll do this time"? Sometimes it didn't go too well but it was still fun. The defense was fundamentally sound even if it couldn't stop teams in the playoffs.
