Its relatively simple to beat the Ravens and we have an offense that can do it. 1- Force either Lamar or Henry to beat you, cant let them both get off. Play a 4-3 and spy Lamar. Crash both him and Henry. Play up with your corners and have 1-safety stay on Andrews no matter what. If we change up our defensive philosophy a little, Harbaugh wont be able to adjust. He's shown the inability to adjust in their loses this year. 2- Score TD's when in the Red Zone. Do not accept FG's like we did against Denver. The way to do this is to keep their defense honest with a balanced Rushing attack with both Josh and Cook. Josh will have to have a minimum of double digit attempts and I'm not talking about QB sneaks. Test them deep with Cooper and Shakir often as well. Slant patterns is a key to doing this. Brady doesn't run enough short slants to the middle of the field. I would do this with Knox. They are relying on us running the dink and dunk screens and rushing Cook. They will not be prepared for us to consistently attack them deep. I know we lack the speed, but there always hope for PI's to be called. Again, if we do some unique QB roll-outs and draws, this will force them to the outside more, which will open up the middle of the field.

No, I loathe them more now. The have become entitled, believing that there QB is MVP every year without genuinely looking at his stats year in and year out. This is a year that he actually deserves it, but they deny the fact the he shoudnt have won it last year. Why the NFL feels some sort of duty to make the kid MVP every year is beyond me. Its like they treat him like some sort of special needs QB!

The New McDermott - Great Buscaglia Article
jaybeezee replied to The Frankish Reich's topic in The Stadium Wall
In my opinion, we will win it all when and if McDermott hires a Steve Spagnolou type. I know I misspelled his last name, but we need a vet D coordinator that he allows to run the show. Look at the Commander's. They hire a Defensive minded HC, but bring in a former HC that is offensive minded and look where they are with a rookie QB. They were picking in the top 5 last year and I cannot name one top flight weapon they have on offense. -

The New McDermott - Great Buscaglia Article

Mcdermott is a good coordinator and a good leader, but has shown the inability to adjust. There have been plenty of teams that have stated how shocked they were that we never adjusted in games. Cincy was ultra confident when they whooped us because they knew that there would be no surprises on defense. I listened to their post game that year. Gotta add wrinkles to your game plan. Can't continue to do the same thing you put on film year over year, especially against KC and Baltimore -
This is great news if Amari is back, but my question is... Is he mentally ready to play in a very meaningful game. Being physically present is very different than being fully ready to play!

Please name one player that we didn't have to over pay to be here, that is actually elite that came here because of Josh Allen. I was team Josh when he was at Wyoming, so this isn't a slight to Josh. I just want someone to name one player that is elite, especially on offense. Josh may already be a HOF'r. Josh isn't the problem here. We need elite Wr's and some consistent playmakers on defense to win it all. That on top of a HC that can adjust his defense when it matters most. -
Buffalo NY- Ranked #1 in the US for snowfall. It used to be Syracuse, but even in Rochester NY, we have missed the significant snow fall, where OP has gotten the worst of it. This has been the way for the last several years too.

Facts! Times have changed though and the next generation of Bill's fans wont show up to a cold stadium unless the team is winning. I hate to imagine what the down years will look like at the New Highmark, especially with enormous ticket prices. Hopefully sooner! -

Made it One (1) conference championship in 7 years with an Elite QB in Josh Allen. Granted he's only been elite for 5 of those years, but still, not one Super Bowl appearance is criminal when you have an Elite QB, Elite WR in Diggs and pro bowlers on defense. That's what I am talking about. Let me guess, your one of those "Its Hard to Win in the NFL" people. -

Funny how the elite teams that continue to compete, at least going to Conference Championships don't have this problem. KC, Philly, Baltimore (last year), SF (exclude this year) Cincy, are paying huge contracts to QB's, WR's and so on, but the Bills cant. Our resigning's have been poor. Oliver, AJ Epenesa, Knoxx, Taron, Jones, all have been underperformers. Drafting has been piss poor since Beane has gotten here (outside of Josh). Shakir is the only one on offense that is worth resigning to me. And maybe Cook if he's not asking for a ton of $$$. From what i gather from his folks down in FL. Cook will be out the door first thing if they dont offer him the big buck$. He loves his teamates, but cant stand the cold. -

Which quality players would that be?? We have 1- really good WR's in Shakir, whos due up for a new contract right now. Everyone else on offense besides Cook is average. Name a top flight free agent that has signed here for less since Josh has been here? Von Miller was willing to sign with Dallas for $10mil less than what we paid for him. -
Pittsburg gets 1/3 if even of the snow we get, and definitely run about 10% minimum warmer temps that we do. Same goes the NE. yes, they get cold in Boston, but not cold plus wind, plus 2-feet of snow on a consistent basis. Green Bay gets the similar temps that we do, but even they dont get the amount of snow that OP does. Same goes for CHI Town.

Most of our defense is year after year and its all related to scheme. We force our DB's and LB's to do most of the tackling. I wish our HC would realize while he has a Prime Josh Allen that this style of defense will not get it done against the best when it matters most.

Stadium Construction Discussion (No PSL/Seat selection posts)

I posted on another topic about our elements in Orchard Park and the fact that many quality Free Agents have taken less money to play in a warmer city, or a team with a dome. I have spoken to several NFL players in years past, as well as recently and they have all said the same thing... "Not unless they pay me considerably more than anyone else". I can list the reasons that they have all said made them consider playing elsewhere, and this includes many of our former players. This made me wonder if it was possible to extend the canopy to cover more of the stands and partially the field? From what I remember, the original renderings showed that Toilet Bowl look, where the entire stands where covered as well as part of the field. Couple that with some kind of wind blocking technology that was supposed to keep the wind off of the field, but the newest renderings show that only about 60% of the stands are covered, leaving the snow shoveling to continue, as well as snow and wind gusts. -
People must realize something about playing in the frigid temps and winds and snow that Orchard Park offers. These players careers are cut short playing in these types of elements, not to mention many do not want to play in temperatures that OP offers. If you have ever had an injury (significant one) you would understand how much harder it is to heal in the cold than it is in warmer temps. Add that on top of also living in the cold during the season. This is why building a dome was so crucial! Look at all of the city's that have similar temps... Cleveland (building a dome), Minny, Detroit, etc... They know that in order to attract players and fans alike, the new age is to have a dome where the elements and temps are controlled. I know for a fact that there have been many quality, game changing free agents that refused to come play for us, nit because of the city of Buffalo and the untrue statements about it being boring, but the #1 reason was they were not willing to risk their careers playing in our elements. Just look up several years ago, Hyde said that he recruited top flight FA's only for them to say "Naw, too cold up there".

Random talking head says something about the Bills
jaybeezee replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
I like the coach as far as a person and what he was able to accomplish with the team for several years, but I can see that he will not take us to the next level. I know for certain that some of his past and present Vets know it too. They are just between a rock and a hard place because they like him so much, but many know his style of defense will not get it done when it matters most. We are wasting many of our good players prime years, most importantly JOSH's. -
I don't want any team that can embarrass us in our own stadium, coming in as a super wildcard team. The team that i know can do that is Cincy, followed by Miami. If Cincy comes to town, i personally believe would be Mcdermott's last game as our head coach. He has no answers for offenses that are potent, which is why I do not feel we make it very far with his defense this year.
