Where do any of those players rank with regards to their positions. Pull that info up stat man. You actually listed Coleman and Bishop who disappeared when we needed them most
-
How do you know that? Who's to say that the GM didn't strongly suggest that they sign him? People forget that Daboll took that team to the second round of the playoffs with him in his first year. The year before that, they were horrible. Daboll had a lot to do with Josh's development in Buffalo. Josh has said so himself. Mcdermott chased away so many decent coaches on this team. Daboll and Chad Hall are 2 right off the bat.
-
You can go back and see the history here with this regime. They will draft major question marks early and make there 3,4, and 5th round picks starters, while the early rounders will be benched, with hopes that they develop.
-
You just stated that Daboll couldn't get anything outta D. Jones, basically stating that Josh was as bad as him I'm his early years. No one on planet earth could make Jones half of what Josh is. Horrible take! Pathetic really!
-
Daniel Jones and Josh Allen should never ever ever be mentioned in the same conversation buddy! I'm gonna hang up now and not listen!
-
Where do any of those outside of Josh fall with regards to anywheres close to being elite? We can thank Daboll for that as well. Bernard had a good first year starting, year 2 he fell hard. Cook, who i do like and all, but his numbers don't say elite to me, but that's for another topic. He imo is shinning for that big contract. His numbers before last year were pedestrian. Benford- let's not forget who we drafted in the first round that year! Where is that guys development? Shakir- i love the guy, but 2nd option, most likely 3rd wr is where he falls on most other teams that aren't picking in the top 10 of the draft.
-
Stop hoping and wishing. This GM has shown you all over the years that he doesn't go after really good players that are proven. He picks his free agents like he does his draft picks..... projects, usually either old, or dudes who were JAGs. He drafts the same way, projects that we hope pan out, but imo we don't develope our draft picks that well either.
-
I doubt much more than what we paid this guy. I'll bet you game tickets that Slayton signs for 15 million per year somewhere
-
Got the reigning MVP at qb and still can't get a top tier WR for the man. Everyone eats has ruined our reputation for stud WRs wanting to come here. There's a reason that LA didn't resign this dude for 13 per year, especially when they have no real studs at the position. This to me equals the Samuel signing.
-
Gotta trade for top end talent. The days of young studs in their prime wanting to come here are over for now.
-
We were all expecting Beane to get an elite guy for Josh, kinda like expecting a Mercedes and given a Kia.
-
And why didn't the Chargers want him back for that amount?
-
Great question. I just asked the same thing on a different thread.
-
Just what i said would happen. I'm not gonna bash Beane on this as I don't know if that player would've came to us for the same amount of money, even though I doubt he offered that to that player. Comparing the 2 cities, one is hot and has a dome, with lower state taxes, and the other is a perennial playoff team that has huge state taxes and plays outdoors in the cold. The player we sighed is right up Beanes alley. Nothing spectacular and hopefully turns out better than Samuel types, or Hardy types that little baller beane likes to hand out big contracts to
-
38 reception for 584 yards. Canadian kid so he won't complain about the cold, but also typical Beane signing to me. 38 receptions for a team that had no superstar wide receivers is not really good. We're paying 13 million per year for that.
-
I was just arguing this with someone who i won't name on this very thread. We are always good team, but people act like we're great. Great is getting to the show, elite is winning. Good is just going to the playoffs and many on this board are content with playoff births and second round exits.
-
Did we go to the show? Do we have a SB trophy, or even a visit to the show in the years that we've had Josh balling out? If you've answered yes to any of those questions, please share whatever your smoking/drinking/snorting or injecting with the rest of us, cuz were gonna need it today. Beane is not signing anyone that we deemed good, he fishes for second/third tier guys and over pay them.
-
That's why Beane and McDermott blew it with Josh on a reasonable contract. I would feel alot better if they knew how to draft top end talent, but they don't, so here's to hoping KC and Cincinnati and Baltimore have some injury issues this year
-
That's the biggest reason, outside of the " there's nothing to fo in Buffalo " statement that even our current players state. Our only hope is an aging vet that wants to sniff a playoff game or 2 and possibly have the potential to go to a SB. But aren't we all tired of those signings?
-
Your comparing Seattle and Biffalo temps is hilarious 😂. Denver gets snow, but also 300 plus days of sunshine and usually in the low 30s. Chicago gets the wind and cold, but not coupled with the amount of snow that Buffalo gets. Jersey and PA get less snow and 10 degree difference in temps that we do. I counted 6 games last year with temps below 20, with a ton of snow the week of the game.
-
It's just crazy that years ago, we paid one of the very best FA Defensive Ends in football 20 million a year, and now we're paying a dude that averages 8 sacks or less a season, 20 million.
-
Telling you what many, not all, but many have said. Go back and listen to Micah Hyde saying he went hard recruiting top tier guys to Buff and they told him the same thing. Now with the everyone eats thing, we will definitely not get a prime WR interested in getting paid similar money to play in warmer weather with less state taxes, as well as being featured every week.
-
We will overspend for some Curtis Samuel type that's coming off some sort of injury. Trust me, people expect Beane to all of a sudden not be Beane and that's the funny part of all of this. Beane will never ever make another Diggs move, even though he should. DK could of been had for one of our second rounders, but nope! Now he will draft some project with that pick and people on this board will make excuses for it.
-
Name one of those that gets the same or colder temps that we get, couples with the amount of snow and winds that we get. Name one that also has an outdoor stadium. Greenbay.. thats it!
-
Yes, but only Greenbay compares to us. Many other cold weather teams, or even semi cold weather teams have moved to building domestic. Cleveland and Chicago's new stadium will be a domed. They know that this new generation of players want to play in warm weather. It does effect how your body deals with injuries.
