    I thought it was the old trope - everything happens for a reason. But I agree with you, that reason sucks a fat one. We lost an 7 year old niece to an aggressive form of brain cancer; that makes you question a God that pulls that crap.

    In 2024 it looks silly to you, but know that was the common farming family life until the 1940s. They'd have 5-7 kids cause 1-2 of them would get taken out from some reason. That Job story was like looking in a mirror to them. And <gasp> some rural families still go about life that way.

    That would be the Libertarian party, but then as we all know we wouldn't have any highways - so that wouldn't work. Ds and Rs are basically the same; the differences are minor.

    10-20 years down the road this decision to dip out of the Saudi agreement may be infinitely more important than who gets to name SC justices. We don't have a country, but at least we saved the whales.
