Maybe Campbell's decision to go for it on the 7 was influenced by the fact that he wanted to end it right there and then because he thought he'd not only be up against the cowboys in overtime but the refs too WRONG. No. Going for it from the 2 yard line vs. The 7 is a massive difference. According to next gen stats it's a difference of over 16% win probability. Campbell deciding to go for it on the 7 equated to a -13.5% probability of winning. I can't think of any coaching decision that ever resulted in more of a negative swing in winning %.

If they finish the regular season with 2 losses they are almost certainly finishing as the 6 seed with a 1st round date at Kansas city. 3 losses in a row would be a historic collapse.

I don't think I've ever seen a team go for it on the 7 when a FG or extra point would have tied it. I think Dan Campbell wasn't thinking straight after the refs botched the first play.

I believe (Texans + Colts loss) combined with either a bengals or steelers loss would clinch for the bills as well.

Cook is better than anyone the Browns currently have. Not to mention the bills have recent playoff success. The bills are a much bigger threat than the Browns.

I don't get the flacco love either. He's beat the jets, jags, bears and Texans w/o stroud . He has i interceptions in 5 games which would put him on pace for 27. That would be the second most interceptions thrown in a season since 2005. The browns are stacked everywhere, Deshaun Watson was playing below average and was 6-2. I understand not wanting to give it to Hamlin but the flacco love doesn't make sense. I think a lot of it has to do with nostalgia.

The problem is that Hamlin literally died on the field and came back to play the next year. He's certainly deserving of some sort of award, whether it's comeback player of the year, Walter Payton man of the year or something else I'm not sure but he deserves something.

Completely agree. I'd want to finish 7th not 6th anyways. I just want to stay away from playing on the road against the defending super bowl champions, I don't care how they've looked lately last ichecked they still have mahomes. I'll take my chances at Baltimore or at Cleveland instead.

Hypotheitcal question about the miami game... let's say miami beats Baltimore and has the divison locked up heading into the last week. And also the bills locked up a playoff spot after beating new England. A buffalo win In week 18 would almost certainly mean the 6th seed and a matchup @ kansas city. Or a loss to Miami and bills finish as the 7th seed at Baltimore. Which would you prefer?

The chiefs are essentially locked into the 3 seed. They obv wont catch Baltimore for the 1 seed. They almost certainly can't catch miami or buffalo for the 2 seed. And they hold the tiebreaker over Jacksonville so they won't be the 4 seed. And chiefs only need one more win to clinch their division. If bills somehow win division their path looks something like: Steelers at home Chiefs at home Baltimore on road or maybe Miami at home Wow! How awesome would a home championship game be.

Looking more and more likely that the chiefs finish with the 3 seed. And if bills don't win the division, their most likely spot would be the 6th seed and a 1st round playoff matchup at Kansas city. Win that game and the divisional round would be at Miami or Baltimore, Vs. Winning the division and getting the #2 seed and playing a team like Pittsburgh at home in the wild card followed by the chiefs at home. Winning the divison is going to be huge this year.

Yeah a lot went the bills way today. They will be able to clinch a playoff spot next week if they win and a couple games go their way.
