Interesting ESPN article (re Allen): death of the deep ball
SoonerBillsFan replied to TPS's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is exactly what I referred to in another post. Mahomes learned to take the 10-13 play drives. -
You might be on to something and its something I wondered as well. Why not take them out of the game plan to a greater extent? No more streaks down the side line, "deep" passes are posts, post corners etc and cap at 25-30 yards. Now they will eventually shell that, but then is when you take the deep shot.

Do the Bills need a " Quarterback Whisperer?"
SoonerBillsFan replied to Returntoglory's topic in The Stadium Wall
I would say a foot in his @$$ is the more correct approach /analogy. -
Week 2, Rayduhs v. Bills - Predict the Score
SoonerBillsFan replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bills 33 Raiders 13 -
Thats not it at all, we have talent...we have had talent. Josh just refuses to be patient and thats it in an nut shell. This isn't on Beane, McDermott etc its on Josh. HE has to make the conscious decision to take the 10-13 play drives like Patrick Mahomes admitted he needed to do as well years ago.

Sugar High Josh and our Sweet Tooth
SoonerBillsFan replied to Goin Breakdown's topic in The Stadium Wall
Wow. Just wow... -
Yes stuck. If he can't stop being sugar high josh then we aren't going anywhere with him. We succeeded in a very weak AFCE that the last 2 off-season's has gotten much stronger, heck the entire AFC has. What I don't get is why fans have to be so knee jerk and emotional when the truth and facts are pointed out. Josh since last mid season is becoming a liability vs an asset, he literally was THE reason we lost Monday night and he is getting worse, not better. Can he turn it around? I don't know anymore. He keeps TALKING that he is improving, that he knows what he must do, but then pulls a Monday night. There is a long rest of the season and all of us hope he says "pop" and pulls his head out of his butt and starts acting more mature, calm and consistent on the field. We will see. And can we please stop with the hyper emotional "we are going back to the stone ages" stuff if we didn't have josh? This team is way more talented, and believe it or not better coached then in the drought. Good lord.

Sugar High Josh and our Sweet Tooth
SoonerBillsFan replied to Goin Breakdown's topic in The Stadium Wall
My Grow up agreement would be, he can't sit there and get bored. The greats will chip away all day long. He has to start doing that because nearly every time he goes sugar rush josh it bites us in the butt -
Sugar High Josh and our Sweet Tooth

Its not BS, its time to grow up. His entire career he won't take the open routes and its just a known fact which he didn't do again Monday night. He has an OL, over 25% of his pressures were because of him. At some point the coddling of this MAN (not a kid) has to stop. -
Sugar High Josh and our Sweet Tooth

I am older school. I don't care about excitement, flash etc. I want superbowl wins. I don't care about All pros' probowls, Power rankings, thoughts of Talking heads, I want superbowl wins. If its with a boring QB and win a superbowl I don't care. We have an exciting QB...who can't get to a superbowl let alone win one yet and from all indications Monday night... isn't getting us there unless he makes lots of changes. As you can see I am an OU football fan. We have had several Heismans and a 2nd place Heisman QB in Hurts. I don't care if we EVER have another one, start hanging Banners in the stadium again. But im and old fart so there's that 😁 -
O'Cyrus Torrence.....Bills best O-lineman??
SoonerBillsFan replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not yet, Its still Morse. But I really like what I see from the kid, he is a rookie but he will get there. -
Coming into the season I felt like Shaw, I was feeling good. What I saw Monday night WAS Josh Allen in his truest form and that is a very bad thing. 7th season in the NFL he shouldn't play the way he did, no discipline, selfish, hero ball. No team can survive that from a guy you tabbed your franchise QB. Can it change...yes. Will it? I seriously doubt it. I feel Josh is what he is and its the old Scorpion and the Frog fable, he is what he is and I just don't think he will be able to do enough to win us a superbowl. Reality is this, we are stuck with him 3 more years with his contract and Pegula just extended McDermott, so nothing is going to change soon. We just have to keep cheering and supporting the Bills and pray for the best.

What will happen with Josh over the next month?
SoonerBillsFan replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Im going to throw this out there and I would love to get your opinion Simon as well as others. He kinda reminds me of Elway, Gun sling even to death. Once he was put in Shanahans WCO and forced to take 3-5-7 step drops and get the ball out ON TIME and on target he won 2 superbowls. He quit relying on his shoulder and relied more on his mind and his coaching/system and his team mates. The long ball was still there, but it wasn't a staple. Mahomes, Rogers etal play in this same system. Mahomes has been to the superbowl, Been an MVP, Superbowl MVP doing this As has Rogers and they did so Recently so the system isn't outdated. Brady was the master of taking what was there and killing teams by a thousand cuts. I think we need to put a saddle on the horse to break him down a little and get him thinking more with his head than focusing on his arm. Some will say "well thats just how he is". If so, I don't see us winning a superbowl with him. Favre got lucky with his style to win one. Marino another pure gunslinger got to 1, but had tons of records. I don't know what the solution is, but I really think a new system, and one that forces him to use his brain and the running game more would benefit him for the rest of his career. Just a thought. -
Agreed. He had open WR's all over the field and he just flat refuses to throw to them. I love the kid, but even the most ardent Josh supporter now has to see there is something seriously off with the kid. I have no clue what it is, but it needs to be corrected

Loss of Edmunds is going to expose Hyde and poyer
SoonerBillsFan replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall
the contracts for Edmunds and Oliver are nearly similar, but they went with the disappearing DT. I said this offseason, Trade Oliver, free up over 10 mill in cap room and add to the team. -
Talent level isn't even on the same planet between the Bills and Giants. Nope its 100% on allen
-
Thank you! There ARE guys open, he refuses to throw to them

Josh has lost confidence… reasons why.
SoonerBillsFan replied to Toledo Bill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agreed on the OL. This is one of the absolute best DL's in the NFL and other than a few plays, if Josh just hits his back foot and hits and open short guy, the OL did just fine -
I think after 13 seconds we should have kept Dabol and moved on from McDermott JUST because of Allen. Hire Jim Schwartz and let him install a blitzing killer Defense and I think we would be better off. I love Sean, but I can't thank him enough for what he has done, and he 100% was the right guy to right this Titanic franchise version. BUT, if you keep Allen as your QB you gotta have a very strong personality that keeps his butt on target. McDermott and Definitely Dorsey isn't that.

It is his worst game because it's year 7. There are no excuses why he should have played that badly. I'm going to die on the hill that something is wrong with this young man and it goes beyond football, and if the Bills FO can't recognize this and help him get it fixed, it is only going to get worse.
