  1. None. I would care as much about the NFL as I do about the NBA.
  2. and a sham and a mockery.... It's a traveshamockery...
  3. Two grammatical errors in one sentence. Three if you don't count the lack of period; four if you include the lack of an initial capital. Hard to take any analysis seriously in that case. Nevertheless... please note that Flacco has the advantage of an awesome defense, and can play quite ordinarily and win. Matt Ryan is very good. Will he still look that good in his second season after teams have film? Who knows?
  4. And if they did... six guys on TSW would be saying, "See, Jauron doesn't have a killer instinct...."
  5. I love how a guy with the TR quote in his sig feels no irony in passing such immediate judgments.
  6. It is 7-3 in the second quarter, man. Good thing you weren't on Omaha Beach....
  7. He was hurt making that catch. They were working on him on the sidelines, says Paul Peck. Should be OK, but not back in yet. You may all now unbunch your panties.
  8. True, though the Piccone play was at Cincinnati in Jan 1982 after the 1981 season. Bills were driving for the tying score. Sigh. In the SD game, what hurts from watching it on YouTube is how with ca. 4 minutes left the Chargers muffed a punt; Bills recover inside the 40, Fergy hits Cribbs for almost a first down, then they are stopped on 3rd and inches, and Mike-Mayer, who never was reliable past 40 yards, missed a figgie (his second miss of the day). Chargers get the ball, and go on the winning TD drive. If they had gotten that first down, they probably win that game 14-13 even with an injured Fergy.
  9. The 1980-82 Bills under Knox could look absolutely incredible one week, then come up inexplicably flat the next... it was quite a ride after 14 years of craptacularity (with just 3 OJ years in between), but that roller coaster was exhausting! Some highlights: 1980... beat the Fins at last!.... but lost two horrible games to the Colts, and collapsed at home against Atlanta, blowing a 14-0 lead 1981.. won the first two games against the Jets and Colts by a combined score of 66-3.... but later in that season lost 24-0 at St. Louis, then won 4 in a row (including the Roland Hooks Hail Mary against NE), only to fall flat in the Orange Bowl on the last weekend, 16-6, and miss out on the division crown... then beat the Jets in Shea 31-27 (after nearly blowing a 24-0 lead!), only to lose the "delay of game" heartbreaker to Cincy 1982.. start out 2-0, including an amazing comeback on Thursday Night Football against Minny... then comes the strike... team pitches two amazing home shutouts against Baltimore and Pitt, but look horrible in multiple games (including the Rosy Leaks fumble against TB when they were already in FG range...).. miss the playoffs, Knox quits.... Ah, memories!!!
  10. Maybe Turk remembers all those folks in the Killdrive era shouting: "It's 3rd and 1, just run the freaking ball!"
  11. It does, but they didnt... and to think that ol' #22, Steve Freeman, blew that call!
  12. Play is under review, but Sylvester was too busy gobbling SD knob to notice.... Edit: it is overturned... is it still a "sensational play" Sylvester?
  13. Now? Man, CBS has been awful for years with the commercials. Gotta pay those rights fees.
  14. 6 is better than 5, and at this stage it is better to take the guaranteed 6 than risk only being up by 5. You do not have to agree, but that is the logic. Many coaches also have a rule of thumb: no 2 point conversions before the 4th quarter, it is not worth the risk.
