  1. More good sense from my favorite morning show cyborg!
  2. Well put, Philster. With the assistance of many media types, Vick has constructed this narrative of how he has "overcome all the stuff I had to go through" etc. etc. No remorse at all.
  3. Ah, more class behavior from the folks from the U....
  4. Maybe... but maybe they don't care what Gregg thinks?
  5. No where, anywhere outside of the idiotic ramblings of the newly-resurgent anti-Ralph brigade on TSW, has anyone ever said that Ralph fired, hated, disliked, or even expressed an opinion about Bruce DeHaven. Thus this point is moot, Haven.
  6. You pathetic little child. You are telling other fans to leave? With your 41 posts?
  7. He is a mediocre QB and a PR nightmare. And please, let's stop with the slippery slope "if you eat meat you can't criticize the torture of dogs" argument. I can certainly do both at the same time without fear of contradiction, as can anyone with a brain and some common sense.
  8. Sort of. He got kicked out for bumping the official while protesting a call of punt interference.
  9. Not true, ICE. Super Bowl XV, Raiders party like mad, Vermeil keeps the Eagles on a short leash, Raiders win, and the press is full of stories about how being loose was the key to victory. All of this is pointless hindsight.
  10. Because it is old news... Biscuit Bennett said as much when he went to the SB with Atlanta ten years ago...
  11. I am glad I read this thread to the end, because billsfreak said what I was thinking... Something that is so rarely true, but I am happy for it to be so in this case. If I understand this correctly, the "All-Pro" team is voted by sportswriters, and is a starting 11 on both sides of the ball, with a second team as well, but the distinction between first and second team is clear. There is inevitably some overlap with the Pro Bowl, but since the PB squad includes pretty much a full roster (50 on each side, no?), it is much less exclusive than All-Pro.
  12. You are right, I am thinking of Flutie. Need to work on my reading comprehension!
  13. Too many players want to see themselves showboating on ESPN
  14. He didn't get the $25 mill until after his performance in '98, which makes your point even stronger.
  15. Buffalo is essentially an unknown, empty signifier for "loser rust belt town" by people who do not bother to learn any more about it. When you combine that with the streak of meanness that runs through so much football journalism anyway (a subject all for itself), this is what you get.
  16. So true. Ask Chuck Noll, or that loquacious scene-stealer, Tom Landry.
  17. How a guy praising Norv Turner after what we saw last weekend can have any credibility in criticizing other teams' hires is beyond me.
  18. No worries man... was not busting on him for that, was actually helping him make his point. Yours is also a good one. I think the Cards collapse if they turn things over to Leinart this year.
  19. Actually, it was that very same 2000 in which they went on that TD drought, which helps your case. What hurts it, however, is your use of "mute" when you meant "moot."
  20. Buddy Nix explaining things to Chan after he has been to TBD: "You have to understand, these are people of the land, the salt of the earth. You know.... morons."
