  1. An excellent metaphor Promo. It also suggests the mess and stench that attaches itself to both.
  2. You are right on the 1997 Friggin' Lonnie game, but not on 1994. The Favre game was 29-20. Bills jumped out to a 24-0 lead, then coasted to victorty. BillCody1960 has it posted on Youtube. The 44-10 game you are thinking of was the same season against the Chiefs and Joe Montana.
  3. Art Modell? The man who drove Jim Brown out of football and the Browns out of Cleveland? Please God no.
  4. Well put, Kelly. It is astonishing, the number of people who scream for the FO to "do something" but then immediately jump on any decision that does not hit the jackpot.
  5. And yet but weeks ago, many on this board were trumpeting him as the model owner, committed to winning....
  6. This is a good point. I am all for people speculating in the second half of the last game of the season, but folks on this site have been preaching draft position losses since about week 2. That just ain't right.
  7. All true, Thoner, but it is also worth noting that the Colts had top draft picks most years between 1990 and 1998... and it did not help them win, by any definition.
  8. It has to be right up there. I remember the Bills went from 1966 to 1983 before beating Houston, which was close to a record at the time. And they even played more often than the Bills and Bengals.
  9. Considering how he rose and has now fallen in the draft stakes, I have to admit I am intrigued by Jake Locker. Could he be 2011's version of Dan Marino, drafted 27th in 1983 after such hyped luminaries as Todd Blackledge and Ken O'Brien?
  10. Oldsters in the crowd will of course remember James Lofton turning backwards to showboat as he crossed the goal line on a long pass from Kelly against the Bears back in 1991.... As showboating sins go, I think turning around when you are totally in the clear is a venial one.
  11. Very true. I did leave that out, but am glad you pointed it out. It kills me that the nattering nabobs of negativity want to make everything sound like it was a bad idea... even though many of them are the same ones who complain that Nix "isn't doing anything to improve the team."
  12. Cat, I usually agree with you on things, but I have to say that I share the OP's unease about Newton. I am open to evidence that would change my mind, but I find it strains credulity to imagine that there are not problems in his background/character. The laptop issue, combined with the mystery of his leaving FL is bad enough, but I also find it very hard to believe that they only tried to hit up Miss. St. for cash. He is an amazing talent, to be sure, but there are serious red flags. One would have to be very careful trying to build a franchise around him.
  13. Quite so. This was my point; if you want to pay for access, you can see the games consistently. If you are trying to scam a free view through an unauthorized web feed, not so much.
  14. Because the Bills have never improved after being bad. Nice historical awareness, dolt.
  15. Not a completely bad point. I am no fan of the blackout rule these days either, though it is what it is. The blackout issue is really moot, though. Most if not all of the folks on this site who want the internet feed want it precisely because they do not live in the Bills viewing area, and cannot see the game on TV any other way. The number of posts begging for the link during the weeks that the Bills are on local TV is eloquent testimony to that.
  16. No worries man. Being a Bills fan can make anyone feel snippy. At least the Irish had to make you smile, though... and with the Sabres last night and the Bills so far today, we may all have a happy weekend. Here, have one on me!
  17. Actually, as ndirish himself said, that is exactly what they are doing. Taking the broadcast from one source and sending it through another is the exact definition of rebroadcasting. It does not just mean replaying it later, though it means that as well.
  18. I was not being tart and petty, but you did a very nice job of it. Actually, I consciously chose not to respond to any one person because I thought it was of interest to all. Referring to rebroadcasting only further makes my point anyway; as the boilerplate announcement at the end of every game says... "every rebroadcast.. etc. etc. is forbidden." My point was that it is annoying, but not that hard to see why they try to stop it.
  19. He went down after his last carry, but left the field under his own power.
  20. The blackout is not the reason why they take down the internet feeds. The internet folks are not paying for the rights to broadcast, that is the copyright issue. It may be annoying for a fan, but is really not that hard to understand.
  21. Indeed... I thnk he strained it on that 30yard punt return.
  22. Low risk, low cost... might not work out. Big freaking deal.
  23. I am sure the place emptied out because the Bills fell behind by more than 2TDs... then came back to win. One of the few legitimate highlights of that season!
