Sooo... the Pats* have never won a game with a few lucky breaks? Against the Bills or anyone else?
But when they do it, it means they are great. When the Bills do it, it is only further proof of how bad the Bills are. All that "good teams make their own breaks" or "luck is the residue of design" stuff only does not count when it refers to the team of which you are (nominally) a fan?
The self-hatred of some fans is truly astonishing.
So I have to ask: if Sparano ends up fired, and the Fins totally tank this season, what impact does that have on the reputation of the Genius who was supposed to save the Miami Franchise who has since fled to an overstuffed easy chair on ESPN?
BPLoDR forever!
32 yards.... middle of the field... the rain had stopped, sun was out. Sigh.
It still hurts, yeah.
But yesterday makes a lot of things better!
P.S. Ironically, Dempsey had missed an even short FG at the gun in 1973 for the Iggles in a 27-26 loss to the Bills at Rich.
Yeah, if not for the fact that they scored 34 points, they would not have....
Wait, you were being funny too, right? Because I feel like an idiot trying to pretend that there is any reason to downplay this win.
You should too.
I am still chuckling over the officials' granting Brady both a complete scramble and half the distance to the goal on a defensive holding call. They may have scored anyway, but for the officials to put the ball on the 1/2 yard line instead of the 3 suggests that they were not thinking straight from the get-go.
But hey, the good guys won, so who cares?
With apologies for the self-promotion, here is a possible answer to the question.

Well played, brother!
It's OK to be hurt, goodness knows. And skepticism is normal. But don't be afraid to hope... when the moment for hope arrives, which can be different for different people.
Go Bills!
Well, since Kelly was a first-ballot HOFer, and I do remember the stories at the time discussing his USFL stats, they did indeed play a role in his overall reputation, even if the yards do not count toward his totals.
