  1. With all due respect, this is one of the most tortuous examples of Polian Derangement Syndrome I have seen in a while. If I understand what you are saying, you are claiming that the Colts relied too heavily on one player AND did not really understand this one essential player's medical condition AND had a team full of veterans who were of such questionable commitment that they could simply quit on the team AND have drafted ineffectively for several years, and yet none of this is the responsibility of or reflects at all negatively on the man who is generally credited with selecting and managing the team's drafts and players. OK
  2. Nice list there. Truth is, though, most of those players played before the explosion of sports media coverage that made celebrities out of GMs.
  3. The sound you hear is the "pop" of heads exploding all over TBD. How could anyone fire Bill Polian... Gahhhhhhhhhhhh!
  4. This may all be true. I am not making excuses for Chan (who is not the only coach accused of getting pass-happy---I live in Philly and this is a steady complaint about Andy Reid), but consider, if Spiller catches that very catchable pass at the 15 rather than let it pop up for an INT early in the 4th quarter, the Bills probably go in to tie the game. That is not the game plan, but dumb luck.
  5. I don't think people realize how unusual 1000 yards receiving was before say 2000
  6. The TV people can't be bothered to go beyond their note cards. They came today to praise Brady and Belli.
  7. Re: a different thread. I think I like the PI rules after all.
  8. I think it is very unlikely that games are fixed on any grand scale. What is certainly true, however, is that the officiating in NFL games is very uneven, and the unevenness is much more obtrusive in football, where missed calls (or blown non-calls) can have such a vital impact on games.
  9. Sure you can on TBD. It's easy All you have to do is hate the team you allegedly follow and pretend that makes you realistic.
  10. What amazes me is how rapidly so many folks on TBD appear to resign themselves to thinking about players leaving who are still under contract, or who start such conversations just to scratch some kind of pre-emptive hate on the FO itch. Everyone is entitled to his/her own neurosis, of course, and goodness knows the Bills have provided enough trauma over the years to scar us all in one way or another. But I do hope, for the sake of all my Bills brothers and sisters, that you do not spend your real lives looking for things to get upset about. Life is hard enough dealing with the things that actually go wrong.
  11. Why will he walk when he is still under contract? Geez, people, even bothering to read a few posts in this thread would help one avoid such idiotic statements.
  12. This. I also have to say the 'Bama QB is pretty lame too. Not much offense at all.
  13. Paul Snyder was always jealous of the Knoxes and the Sabres, who had a much more devoted following and (as Snyder saw it) got preferential treatment in the use of the Aud. That sense of inferiority poisoned the Braves from the start, alas.
  14. Because PhilaDelia is a hot girl with a sense of humor who enjoys talking football. Is it that hard to figure out? Or, to quote Julia Roberts as Erin Brockovich, "They're called boobs, Ed."
  15. Very good point. Frankly, I think this is good for the Bills, because it means that it would make more sense to have a game or two in TO than to move the team altogether.
