At this point last season, Bills were 7-6

This year they are three games better. That is an undeniable, measurable step forward. But I imagine you would deny its significance because, you know, realism and all that. -
I hate the Bills Schedule - Is this done on purpose?
RJ (not THAT RJ) replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall
For most of the 1970s into the 1980s, the Dolphins came up to Buffalo early in the year when the weather was nice, and the Bills would travel to Miami in December. You can look it up. At the time, people began to complain this was unfair to the Bills because they always had to deal with heat in Miami and that it contributed to the Miami winning streak. -
I stand corrected. Forgot that division record would be in Finn’s favor if Bills lose out.
-
Yes they can.
-
heck, their win against the Bills came down to one deep throw on third and long.
-
Tua just keeps flinging it out there for someone to run under it. Eventually, they do.

Back in the previous century, during the Flutie-Johnson debate, I was tired of people saying how much they hated "RJ," which also happens to be two of my initials.

How did Allen not dominate in college?

So many, especially from top programs who run up the score on inferior talent every Saturday. -
1975, in the Orange Bowl, midway through the 4th Q.... Pat Toomay protesting a terrible no-fumble call on Mercury Morris... Instead of the Bills having the ball in Dolphin territory down 24-21 (having been down 21-0), the Fins get to keep the ball plus 15 yards, Bills lost focus, next play Fins run for 60 or so yards to set up clinching TD. Yes, I do remember. I will always remember. That's the curse.

Lot's of "realists" in chat rooms will proudly say they don't believe in moral victories and then turn around and start whole threads about moral defeats.... that this or that win wasn't good enough. -
Hot take: Secondary will be fine this week vs the fish.

During the 0-for-the-70s streak against Miami, there were plenty of games where the Dolphins were injured, looking vulnerable, but they still managed to pull it together and could rely on the Bills to make just enough mistakes... That's what good teams do. That's the challenge facing the Bills. -
Miami week, haiku or else

That's the same injury that knocked Rob Johnson out of the lineup in 1998.... -

It's a good thing this game lasts only 3 hours or so, because if it last 4 hours I will have to call my doctor. -
Stafford has tendinitis in elbow
RJ (not THAT RJ) replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall
Elbow troubles eventually ended Terry Bradshaw's career. -
Van Miller's pause then excited/disbelieving.... "Caught for a touchdown!" still sends me back to when I was 14 listening to it on the radio.... Ironically, Fergy's last pass of the season, on 4th down in the playoff game in Cincy after the infamous Delay of Game penalty, was down the middle to Hooks just like in the Pats game, but Hooks couldn't repeat the diving catch... Being a Bills Fan is hard.

TL; DR : Oh crap, I sure hope I didn't lose my job after being so colossally insensitive. -
Oh wow... you knew Duck Dunn? Man was a genius. And one of his gigs was with the Blues Brothers!

definitely an example of the difference between a rookie and a vet. Mac will have to learn.
-
Mac never looked Off the safety… the contrast between that and how well Josh looked off the safety on the Sanders TD was blindingly obvious. And never mentioned by the broadcast crew.

I totally get the worry that we all share as Bills fans, a worry that is intensified by the scars of dealing with the Pats and with Bill B. But let me ask you. If the Bills had ended the season losing 3 of 4, and dropping from #1 in the conference to #5 and a wild card, having to go on the road to a famously difficult weather location against a team that beat them soundly just a couple of weeks ago, would we be feeling confident about the Bills' chances? Just a bit of perspective.
