  1. You know, references to that paper bag are going to be funny for a long time....
  2. He certainly did put the team in a tough spot, whether intentionally or because he finally had to face the reality of his condition.
  3. At any rate, the assumption that this was a vindictive decision by Bills management is based on nothing more than air. I for one do not believe that Crowell is some bad guy, nor do I believe that Brandon is sitting in a darkened room, waxing his mustache for easier twirling... I do think that Crowell has some knee problems that raise questions about his long-term availability, and it is a shame that he waited until now to address them.
  4. The answer would be the latter.... or rather, the lana, if we are on the subject of flatulence. [/random reference to someone's sig line]
  5. Oh we can certainly agree that it sucks!
  6. It's OK, Marv. Once you get past 80, all the names kind of run together, don't they?
  7. Mickey, I do not want to deny you the chance to continue your crusade against the front office, but I do have a question. From all I see, the assumption that Crowell's scope would be a 4-week recovery is based on no statement from any Bills doctor, but is merely an assumption. Thus it could be that the Bills doctors have said that the recovery would be much longer, making IR a better otion for the team, could it not? That explanation requires the vilification of neither Crowell nor Jauron... though it does make it a shame that Crowell did not decide to have the scope done in the off-season.
  8. Well, since Burress signed his deal the day of the first game, it is not as if the Bills are so far behind, yet, when it comes to Evans. I asked the question honestly, in case this was some reference to Peters, who, you may have heard, has held out. There are many reasons for Evans not having his extension yet. You may choose to blame it on the front office, it may be, as others have said, that Evans may want to wait and see. No matter how good the Bills' offer might be, they cannot force him to sign. A lot depends on his own sense of his potential value. If he signs an extension anytime between right now and next March, all is well. Way too early to panic otherwise.
  9. Well, since this was just a rumor about shopping, which can mean a great many things, and certainly does not mean a trade is imminent, I would say you have little to worry about.
  10. I was about to be impressed that the boss of Delaware North was also able to play RB....
  11. Well, they didn't really... it was 14-all at the half, and they had an extra game of experience, so I am not sure it says anything. Except that Jim Zorn is really Steve Fairchild in disguise....
  12. Yes. But he can only be released if he negotiates an injury settlement with the Bills. Putting him on IR does not save money, except in the case of performance-based bonuses, and no one here has any idea if Crow's contract included any of them.
  13. Let's hope he can deliver. (Come on, don't pretend that you all didn't want to write that too! )
  14. Well said all the way around. Here, this will help calm things down.... I have to admit that things like this simply reinforce my firm belief that rooting for the laundry, or the symbol on the helmet, is the only sensible approach. Why should I care at all about the inhabitants of those helmets? They don't sit around worrying if I will get tenure, or how I will feed my family. I want the best players the team can get, but I can't feel any attachment to the players as people. Is that wrong?
  15. Of course, Bill, you realize that we would never let you go. That's why they have the franchise tag....
  16. Not just one touchdown... Ditka is able to score multiple touchdowns on every play, because he exists on several dimensions at once...
  17. I believe the correct answer is 5,321. Of course, it would be more if Ditka were the QB.
